As the progression for our«go-to», on-the-regular, don’t-feel-like-cooking-tonight, Chinese place has continued for about a year now, I think we can pause for a minute. Hong Kong City, with it’s cheesy name, and strip mall, hole-in-the-wall presense, has one the job… for now. So this local establishment is mainly takeout and delivery, but there are, I think, three or four tables inside if you must eat in. We have patronized a few times for take-out and the food and service has been solid. We always order the same dishes when trying new places to give us, what we feel, is a very scientific basis for comparison with other restaurants. Because, science. We ordered up, House Special Fried Rice, House Special Egg Foo Yung, General Tso’s Chicken(extra spicy), Wonton Soup, Pork Egg Rolls, and Steamed Dumplings. Gluttony at it’s best! Everything was hot, fresh, and well executed. There was enough food for several meals and the prices were decent enough to create excellent value. The one complaint I have is that the wontons in the soup were a bit doughy and could have used more filling. With so many joints in the area, we are so happy to finally have a decent local Chinese restaurant among the masses.

Super-friendly, food is good, delivery is slowwwww, delivery time estimates never correct. That about sums it up. I like the food at Hong Kong City and they are always friendly. I’ve ordered fro pickup and delivery several times and generally they pickup orders are ready within a few minutes of when they say they will be. But they always tell me «45 minutes» and still can’t deliver in that time frame, I live within 2 miles of the restaurant, there’s no reason it should take 45 minutes… and it doesn’t it usually takes an hour or more. Recently I called them and was quoted 45 minutes and waited a little longer than an hour to call them to see where my food was. They put me on hold for a few minutes and then told me it would be 10 minutes, the food finally arrived 20 minutes later, almost an hour and a half after I ordered. I’ll order from them again but will probably avoid delivery in the future.

Since moving to Woodstock, Hong Kong. Has never disappointed. The food comes fast, hot, and correct. The people answering the phone are friendly and helpful. The set the tone for a wonderful meal that comes right to your door. This is the only take our place I ever plan to use.

Gross! This is one of those places that you wonder if you really just ate beef or some other«delicatessen»! Everything was extremely salty, chewy and tasted old. Won’t be ordering from them again!

Tried this place because of the reviews only to find they were probably written by the owner! DONOTGOHERE! Food was so gross we couldn’t eat it! Has to throw it out!

Gross. That’s all I can say as I pace the house hoping I don’t throw up the 5 – 6 bikes I took of my meal from this place. I don’t understand how it’s so busy, must be cause there are no other Chinese or because nobody has ever had better Everything is lathered in thick gooey sauce that is sugar and unknown other ingredients. Nothing has a difference of flavor when ordering chicken, shrimp, won ton and egg drop soup. Never again.

**This has become one of my go-to Chinese take outs. Portions are fine — I’m surprised at a reviewer’s claim that they’re not — and the food is pretty good. General Tso’s tofu is actually better than at one of our favorite sit down-restaurants. The hot n sour is always rich and flavorful, as is really everything we’ve ordered. This store is conveniently located in the Kroger strip mall, and the family who owns it is hard working and polite. If you live in the area, give it a try! **February 2015 Update: My go-to take out place may become my «gone to» place. Same owners. Different cooks? Are they exercising cost-cutting measures? The caliber of the food has dropped. Hot and sour, watery. Lobster sauce, watery. General Tso’s tofu — overloaded with gloppy sauce. I hope they step it up. I’d hate to see this nice family lose business.

This place is sooooo good! Best Chinese I’ve ever had in GA. They are always consistent always a hit never a miss! Almost puts NY Chinese food to shame.
