I went here not knowing what to expect. While it does seem like more of a lunch place on the outside(priding themselves on their RI weiners), I did see that they served breakfast on Unilocal,so I decided to give it a go. It’s a pretty small place but had a rather spacious single seating at the counter which is what I was looking for as I was dining alone. The waitress had a lot of spunk — and I mean a lot. She was quite a firecracker but it cracked me up. She clearly knew everyone in there and while she was swearing up a storm(I don’t care but was wondering about the kid sitting nearby), I felt like the place was«Woonsocket» which is rough around the edges but filled with love on the inside. Hah. Anyway, I struck up some interesting discussion with some of the patrons sitting nearby. It was enjoyable to talk recent events, the stock market, Bitcoin — the works. Everyone was really friendly. I ordered a simple cheese and tomato omelet and I must say, it was the best cheese and tomato omelet I’ve had in a long time. It was cooked perfectly– the perfect size and the perfect mix of cheese and small tomatoes(vs huge chunks of tomato that I’ve been getting in recent omelets — gag). The home fries were perfect too. All in all, a perfect breakfast meal. You could tell that the woman cooking it was paying close attention and really working hard in the back. I’ll likely return soon and try their hot dogs — I saw them making them on the way out and they looked amazing. They also said, that’s their claim to fame, so I’ll have to see for myself.

Oh Barbara, how we love you. Let us count the ways. We love your dynamite. We LOVE your dynamite and cheese omelets. We adore your waitresses, who by your second breakfast there know who in your party needs coffee, tea, and water. We are amazed at your prices. We are awed by the quality of your food, the local atmosphere, and the genial clientele.

Just had their fish n chips & it was nasty! The fish was inedible! Don’t even know what kind it was but it was dry and not fresh at all. The batter was very thin and not in a good way– you could see the fish thru it & some actually fell off. The coleslaw was soo overloaded with celery seed so that was all I could taste. Worst $ 11 I ever spent. Really wish some real cooks would open places in this city so people with taste buds could get a good meal.

This is a great little hole in the wall. I came here with 4 of my friends. The service may be a little slow but it’s definitely worth it. Our bill was quite inexpensive($ 40 for 5 people). The mozzarella sticks were really good, French fries were hand cut and the bacon cheeseburger I ordered was great. The food came out nice and hot and we all thoroughly enjoyed our lunch!

Nice little place for all day food. Went here for breakfast and it was good. Some portions I think could be a little bigger. Over all it’s not a bad place and home cooking.

This little«hole in the wall» is a not so great kept secret in Woonsocket. After church hours there is often a full house but it’s always worth it! Great home made food in a huge range of styles. From American Chop Suey, Fish & Chips and Club Sandwiches to Baked Scallops, NY System Wieners & Stuffed Cabbage! The fresh made deserts are a thing of wonder too. Barbara’s offers HUGE portions at at a more than fair price! A friendly wait staff, friendly customers, great daily specials and an amazing chef/baker round out the many reasons to stop by! Give Barbara and the family a shot and you won’t be sorry!

Ok. So the food was very good. Yummy bread, eggs cooked perfectly and they were big and tasty. And the home fries were the best I ever had. Coffee is better than DD. I prefer this place over Patriots diner. I’ll be back. Just asked the times they are open, m-w 5 to 2, tr-sa 5 to 7p, su 5 to noon.

Family owned and operated, this«lunch counter» aka diner reflects their pride of ownership. Now mom and daughter work here along with other relatives. Friendly atmosphere, super friendly service. Food ranges from wieners with Coney Island or New York System style condiments to French meat pie and salmon pie. Great for breakfast, lunch and some evenings dinner.
