Our appetizer sampler showed up 30 minutes after ordering it, our ice tea refills were watered down, server barely paid attention to us, the table behind me got the wrong size steak which I can almost assume was mine because when we finally received our order my plate was hot and my medium well steak was dry and luke warm would have been an improvement. Clearly sat under the heart lamps for a significant time. We were never asked about how the food was after we got the entrée which was very surprising considering that my girlfriend only ate about a fourth of her pasta even though that was because she wasn’t that hungry after waiting 45 minutes for her food in a restaurant that was uncomfortably warm. The fact that three best part of a steak dinner was the corn is just sad.

First time here and the Prime Rib was flat and salty. The blooming onion was raw inside and the service was slow.

Bad greasy food. Poor service. Bad attitudes. I would avoid this place at all costs. You are far better off at any chain restaurant. Food over cooked or swimming in butter.

On Saturday 5÷24÷14 we had the good fortune to eat at JAKE’S after my granddaughters graduation. They had«Prime Rib» as one of their specials. We got 3 orders of them and 1 each of their Rack of Ribs and a Rib eye. All of them were done perfect and in a reasonable time. We fed 3 adults and 2 teenage boys for less than $ 100 to makes it a great and tasty place to go.

Classic example of a restaurant doing a hundred mediocre things instead of doing a few things well. Burger was a pre-made, likely-frozen patty. Cole slaw was grade school cafeteria generic. The onion rings were the highlight of my meal. Others in the party had salads with a lot of medium-quality ingredients or generic soup and sandwich. There are some creative ideas on the menu but the execution is poor. They need to cut out half the menu, decide what they want to be and get better at that.

First time at Jakes and had a good meal. Started out with a ½ order of Mushrooms and the portion was huge. I had Prime Rib that had a great flavor. Our server was very pleasant and did a good job of keeping us in drinks.

I have had the misfortune of eating at Jake’s several time, both at their previous location near Walmart in Wooster and at their current location. I have only gone once voluntarily. The last three times were family outings. None of them turned out well(food wise). This evenings was bad enough, I wanted others to know to avoid this gastronomical black hole. Several ordered from the all you can eat buffet($ 14.99). The veggie lasagna was described as the best dish because it was bland. The chicken was so dry that it required a knife to try to cut it off the bone. Fried veggies = good. Fried veggies that include carrots = bad. The hamloaf was just bad. I personally ordered the«Dog House Club». If you think you’ll get anything like the picture of the sandwich on the menu, you are sadly mistaken. The sandwich comes with the option of either rye or sourdough. Apparently, it also comes with an option of meat. My sandwich arrived. It was smaller than a regular sandwich slice of bread. There were two very thin slices of deli ham and turkey(not two each for a total of four. One slice of each meat) along with some pre-shredded lettuce product. There was no bacon. There was no pepperjack cheese. This for 7.99? I’d rather have Arby’s. Then I made the mistake of making this a Platter. The onion rings were the only highlight to this experience. The other side choice is applesauce, cole slaw, or baked beans. As cold and windy as it was, I went for the baked beans. When you list a «platter» choice for 2.49 it better be more than 2 spoons of beans in a 1oz plastic Dixie cup. I have to say, having been at Jake’s 3 times since they’ve moved, I cannot believe they are still have enough business to stay open. Please, if you need to go out to eat and want to sit down, I would actually recommend Applebee’s rather than this poor excuse for a restaurant.

Come here on Tuesdays for ½ price burgers. It has its moments. Some days are better than others. Today was a good day.
