An hour wait after being seated for lunch is not acceptable. Place was not that crowded for a Saturday lunch. Be prepared to wait. Once we got our order, it was quite good. I had the sweet potato burger. Very tasty.

If you haven’t been yet– get here quick! I had breakfast here twice this week because i couldn’t stop thinking about my meal and had to go back! Try the cinnamon roll sandwich. I was afraid it would be too sweet for breakfast but it was just perfect– the Devonshire cream on top was amazing! Don’t miss out on this special place!

This was my favorite place in Wooster during it’s previous incarnation as South Market Bistro. Ate there last night and was a bit underwhelmed and disappointed. They still have a great beer selection, the dining room is comfortable and attractive. The service was efficient but not particularly friendly. The menu is extremely limited now, more so than before and featuring more sandwiches than anything else. It was unfortunately not supplemented by much in the way of specials. I had the caesar salad that somewhat unusually featured beets, an innovation that I was open to but it kind of fell flat for me. The dressing was also kind of bland, needed more anchovy flavor or something. For an entrée I had the braised trout. The fish itself was excellent. Very fresh tasting and expertly prepared. The accompanying fried polenta and tomatoes were OK, but the dish as a whole just didn’t seem to hold together well(i.e. the flavors didn’t seem to go with each other). For dessert I had their lemon tart. The crust was good but the filling just seemed to have a bit of an «off» taste to it that I couldn’t quite place. I’ll probably give this place another shot given the many excellent meals I’d had here before but last night’s dinner here left a lot to be desired.

The was a very small place but the food was excellent. We shared a cheese burger and butternut squash soup. We really enjoyed our meal. The only down side was pricing on the high side and a very limited menu. Our shared meal was $ 18. For the 2 of us and that was with out drinks.

My family visited from Maryland and we were looking for a nice restaurant to have brunch. We happened to stumble upon this little place and fell in love quickly. Coffee is roasted fresh and I had a mimosa which was fantastic. For brunch, the Eggs Benedict will blow your mind. Everything is fresh, local, and simply perfect. I had my eggs with a side of fresh local sausage and thought I died and went to heaven. My mother had literally the best French Toast either of us had ever tasted. My father got the Cuban with the sweet potato chips and loved it, while my brother had a local burger and raved about it. You cannot go wrong with this place and it ranks as the best brunch I’ve ever had. Two thumbs way up for a great place with great food and great staff. I will be back soon!

Spent a day visiting Wooster, shopping, taking it all in. While in town we needed a place to eat lunch, and narrowed our selection down to two places. With a flip of a coin we ended up at Oak Grove, and we’re glad we did! Service was top notch, setting was perfect for a casual, romantic lunch date. Nice selection of beers, fun cocktail list. Meals were superb, with one of us enjoying a delicious perfectly-cooked burger, the other the duck confit sandwich. We split a side of fresh fruit, and seasonal veggies. If your’e looking for a hip, trendy, and flavorful meal, this is the spot!

I often think of lunch as a way to stay satisfied between lunch and dinner, but man was this meal the highlight of my day. The restaurant has a rustic feel and was pretty quiet, as we had a late lunch, but they played pleasant music that really added to the ambiance. Our family shared the goat cheese croutê and it was phenomenal. My mother and I shared the roasted vegetable sandwich and cheeseburger and both were delightful. The highlight of the main course, however, was probably the sweet potato chips that came with it. They were so light and crispy. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone in Wooster.

One of the best breakfasts of my life — certainly the BESTOATMEAL. Creamy, chewy, & with the brûlée topping — perfect! Gorgeous bowl of perfect berries with Devonshire cream. This place was an oasis in Ohio for these weary travelers.

Had the omelet special and my wife had the famous grilled cheese and creamy tomato soup. Omelet was perfect. Tomato soup was amazing. Grilled cheese with provolone and apples was a surprisingly good flavor combination. Great ambiance. Server was friendly. Only negative — would appreciate the server making sure our drink glasses stay filled. If you are looking for a place with quality food and good atmosphere, this is it. A diamond in the Wooster area!

Eh. Went for dinner while in town. The salad was delicious but the entrée left a lot to be desired. I ordered the bacon wrapped filet. The filet was served with fried smashed red potatoes. It didn’t compliment very well. The potatoes were too greasy for the quality of steak. The steak sadly was over cooked. Ordered medium rare and it came medium well. Sadly not the best meal. I would have liked some veggies with the entrée too. Oh well.

I have been wanting to eat here for awhile. We had a 10am reservation and they had our table ready for us. The food was delicious. My wife had the eggs Benedict and I had the croque monsier. We both loved our meal. We also had a cinnamon roll, but that wasn’t anything to rave about. The service was great, loved the atmosphere. Definitely recommend checking this place out!

My boyfriend and I drove from medina to Wooster for a date night. We picked this place based on other Unilocal reviews. This restaurant is small and romantic inside, right down to the lavender bundles accented on the tables. The service was great and the food followed. I had the ricotta gnocchi with duck confit and it was probably the best gnocchi I’ve ever had. They were light and fluffy pockets of heaven accompanied by a rich blue cheese sauce. It was perfect. They have a small open kitchen and only two people working it. You can taste that a lot of love and thought go into every dish. We will be back for sure.

At 3:45 sitting at the bar, you are not given any options for an appetizer. So don’t come here before 4:30 unless you want breakfast. The woman manager /bartender was very rude. I tried joking with her even to just lighten the mood. I ordered a Bloody Mary with a special house made bacon infused vodka off the menu. They were out and when I asked when they would be making more, Bc I wanted to come back and try it, she told me never. Still charged me the almost)$ 10 for it even without the special vodka. Over all she was just very unfriendly, unhelpful, and didn’t even thank me or say good bye. I’m pretty sure she would do better in the back of the house. The only thing that was bloody on this visit was the service. Won’t ever be back, and I’ll be sure to let my friends know.

If you haven’t stopped into this little gem of a restaurant, you are totally missing out on a taste of THE best food in Wooster, Ohio. Let me start with breakfast: don’t stop there without trying the Eggs Benedict. I consider myself a hollandaise snob and I was blown away by this dish. So fresh and delightful! On to lunch: The soup and their gourmet grilled cheese change almost daily so feel free to stop several times a week! Heirloom carrot and cauliflower bisque? Yes, please! Oooh, now the best part… dinner! Where do I start? I’m serious when I say nothing will disappoint on this menu. Feeling like a burger? Check-the hand formed Oak Grove burger is perfect-topped with local egg, bacon, and… wait for it-hollandaise! But I’m also head over heals for the seasonal risotto with grilled to perfection chicken! I’m gluten free and this option and many more are available, which is awesome! And finally, the staff and ownership are top notch. You can feel their love and passion for not only their food but also their community when you walk thru the door. I’ll continue supporting this amazing restaurant and you should too!

After a recommendation, we stopped by for a weekday late breakfast. Not many people eating but that’s not too surprising for a weekday especially following a holiday. The place itself is very cute. We had the croque Monsieur and yum! It was fairly large and priced right in my opinion. Service was great. I would definitely return as I’m very curious I check out lunch/dinner selections.

My wife and I have had our eyes on Oak Grove for some time now. We had a friend in from out of town and decided to give it a try. We were initially impressed with the beer selection, which is not extensive, but featured beers you can’t find at other places in Wooster. We also came to find that these beers complimented the food very well. The specialty cocktail menu also had some compelling, unique drinks that we’ll be returning to try. Our entrees were sized generously. The other two in my party got the seasonal risotto, which was served in an acorn squash. They both raved about how tasty and satisfying it was, especially for a vegetarian dish. But I’m a carnivore. I got the burger. Oh, that burger. That magnificent f’n burger. A half pound, high quality, hand spanked patty done to a perfect medium. Top it with a drippy egg over easy, smoked bacon, and hollandaise… all on an amazing bun. This thing will haunt me in the best possible way. At the end of the meal I was left with the runoff of the burger, sauce, and egg which I mopped up with the sweet potato chips.(Also incredible.) Our server was attentive, personable, and offered great recommendations.(And she was pretty funny too.) The service was great and the pacing of the meal was perfect. The only disappointment is that this great restaurant had plenty of empty tables. Seriously– this place should be filled EVERYNIGHT. You’re going to get your money’s worth at Oak Grove. It’s elegant dining that’s accessible. This place is a gem. So, go out and try Oak Grove!

My girlfriend and I met there for drink and. Snacks after work. Adam the bartender was wonderful. We had such a great time. The wine selections were very good. We ordered an appetizer plate that contained all kinds of interesting bites such as figs, dates, relishes, sausage, and of course cheese. It went wonderfully with our wine. Adam later brought us a couple of deserts to try which were fabulous! This is definitely our new after work hang out!

Been here five times now and will be visiting less now. The new winter menu is kind of weak. They have a commitment to quality local and organic ingredients so I appreciate that. I will start with the good stuff. The pear salad is delicious. The soup of the day had always been good every time. Anything with scallops here is a fine choice. Had a peppercorn crusted strip steak with Brussel sprouts, Brie mashed and spinach. It was excellent but the peppercorns had more heat than usual, so do not get this unless you like peppercorns. The desserts here are fantastic! The cobblers, the fritters and the chocolate terrine with sea salt are all excellent. Now, the bad stuff. I had risotto with prawns and it was ok but nothing special. There were too many root vegetables in it so it barely seemed like a risotto. The pork pappardelle was awful. The pork and the sauce were fine(not great) but I think this was advertised as an Ohio City pasta but if it was, it tasted nothing like any Ohio City pasta I have had. I gave others at the table a taste and they all looked sadly upon me realizing I lost the food lottery tonight. The service here is often inattentive and somewhat cold, especially if you get this one server that we seem to always get stuck with. The first time we came there was a male server who was fantastic. Since then, I would say it is not up to fine dining, let alone Cheesecake Factory standards. You will be left without a refill for 10 minutes at a time. If you go in the winter, for goodness sake, ask for a table near the kitchen. This is a small place and every time the door is opened it is a brutal gush of air. Really quite a problem and I don’t mind the cold much. They must find a way to address this. I am sure it would keep people from coming. How am I giving it four stars? Well, the good parts are that good. If they could fix a few things it would be much better.
