For years I have been going to Boston for Chinese food. Now I don’t have to travel for authentic Chinese! Awesome authentic food. I highly recommend asking for your waiters favorite dishes as the menu includes all the American Chinese classics as well as many authentic, unique dishes you might not order otherwise and they are so delicious. The only downside is the price but you get what you pay for. Would go back again and again.

Red Pepper is an awesome place where you can find authentic Chinese food. Foods are delicious here and it is a good place for hanging out too.

Amazing food and great service. Manager Alan is very humble and hospitable. We keep coming back to this spot for more. It’s comfort food and very delicious. Spice levels can be increased to suit your palate. Never a disappointment– we always come here for our Chinese fix!

Went there last week and I’m a fan, Good Food and Good service. We order the Deep fried chicken with dry chilli peppers, Stir fry pea leaves, and the House Special Lo Mein. It was all excellent, I’m now a fan of Sichuan cooking.

Great for reserving party of 50. The food was so good, I honestly didn’t know what anything was but I ended up eating the chicken, beef, all the vegetables, and noodles. It was so good, never really tasted these flavors before so I can’t pinpoint a description… I do have to say you have to go try it for yourself :)

This may be my first 5 star rating but Red Pepper deserves it. Our party of 3 consisted of an octaganarian who still only wants chicken fingers and pork fried rice(he was very happy), a GF vegan(rice noodles, veggies, tofu — yum), and a Chinese food ‘snob’ who has actually gone to China many times(had their signature dish — white fish and tofu with szechuan sauce and signature hot and for rice noodles). The food was the most authentic in the USA — that we know of. The flavors were sensational. Our waiter(Jorge) had terrific suggestions. The food was very fresh, very flavorful and very plentiful. We will be back — you should go too.

We opted for Dinner(7ish) delivery as our car died, they have very fast delivery service, on the downside however it was far more expensive than out three previous Chinese takeouts had been and it turned out to be really bland food, maybe they were having a bad night.

I so want to love this place but just can’t– the food generally is good but very hit and miss. For example, my moo shi chicken had egg shells in it– so gross! And they have large TVs everywhere– there is literally no way to avoid them so you can’t have a quiet meal that isn’t distracted by giant screens. Sad!

This is the most authentic Chinese food restaurant I have found in the Worcester area. The food is great and their takeout service is top notch. We had a party for 30 people and arranged for takeout a day in advance. Everything was ready on time as promised and our guests were delighted. The staff is patient and playful with Americans that want to practice their Mandarin as well. Please try this restaurant. 吃好!

Like most American style Chinese restaurant, you can find a lot of ‘strange’ Chinese cuisines that we never had in China. However, we may still find some typical Sichuan food. MaLa hot pot is a big mix of fish, tripe, beef, doufu and some vegetables. It tastes as hot as we had in China, but it will be better if more spice added. Next time we will try Dandan noodle as recommended.

Pro-tip: Order off the Sichuan menu and you will probably leave happy. Red Pepper serves all the typical Americanized crap that you can find at a buffet, but they also have a number of flavorful Sichaun options that are hard to find in Central Mass. We ordered take out and ate it at the brewery around the corner so I can’t speak to the service, but the interior seemed in good shape, if not a little dull. The Dan Dan Noodles, while not the best I’ve ever had, are good and come in a bug portion for only $ 6. There was almost too much pork sauce, they definitely aren’t skimping in that area. My only real complaint is that they didn’t have much of that numbing Sichuan peppercorn flavor. The Ma Po tofu(tofu in spicy minced pork) was fantastic and actually kind of spicy. The tofu is a very soft texture, which isn’t my favorite, but the flavor more than made up for that. Finally, spicy eggplant is a must at a Sichaun restaurant. While Red Pepper’s rendition is again not the best I’ve ever had it’s still pretty good. Our entire meal for two set us back $ 27 and there were enough leftovers for lunch the next day so you could say its a good value.

The building that Red Pepper is located in may be unassuming, but the food is anything but. Red Pepper serves real Sichuan food with it’s spicy and complex flavors, not just the«Sichuan style» food that most places in the US serve. Despite the fact that the menu features standards such as General Tso’s chicken and beef with broccoli, the real stars of the show are on the specials menu. The items on the specials menu really show the true depth of Sichuan cuisine, from the fiery hotpots to the wonderful deep fried tofu with dry chili peppers. Every single time I’ve ordered the food has been excellent and extremely tasty and I’ve yet to encounter a dud on that menu, even among the more adventurous dishes. Visit Red Pepper if you’re tired of the same old Chinese takeout(they do take out too btw) and want to be treated to fresh, interesting and delicious food for a very reasonable price.

Still my favorite Chinese in the city but after many many visits I have to say the quality has trended down hill over the past year. For example the green beans with beef was exceptional the first time I had it; crisp beans fried hard in the wok but not overcooked dressed with a nice sauce. Lately the beans have been way over and not seared and the sauce has been gummy. Step your game up, you were my favorite restaurant in Worcester!

As far as standard Chinese food goes this place is definitely a step above the rest. The potion sizes are good, and the atmosphere is clean. Not a fancy place, but a good spot for a cheap dinner.

Food was good, a bit salty though(I tried 4 main entry). the service was not good at all. Very rude and lacking. The dishes and the bowls on the table were also kinda greasy and not clean.

The food is very good with classic Sichuan dishes. I was really excited when they opened a location in Worcester so that I wouldn’t have to travel all the way to Framingham. I hate that the food is so good because the service is HORRIBLE. I have been there multiple times, and the waiter is incredibly rude. He eavesdrops on our conversations and makes condescending remarks. He also has made blatantly racist comments about my interracial relationship. At first I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt by thinking he was having a bad day, but no, this behavior is consistent on repeat visits. I will still get take-out, but I refuse to dine at their establishment again.

I went here with my father on a week night and found it a very enjoyable experience. The service was an absolute high point. Our server was very friendly, and helpful in regards to trying to describe tofu to my father. We ended up ordering the veggie delight and an order of vegetable lo mien. Bother dishes were very plentiful and tasty. The food came out very quickly(maybe even suspiciously quickly?) and it was pretty standard and not piping hot but it was overall fine. The atmosphere is clean and bright, slightly sparse, but pleasant nonetheless. The staff were exceptionally friendly and chatty and it made our experience there really stand out– I think this is what bumped it up from 3 to 4 stars for us. We left pleasant mood after chatting with our waiter about Avatar(playing on the TV) and the part of China the food originates from. Little things like this make a difference!

I am a foodie. This chain has another restaurant in Framingham. Both great. This one offers even better taste and bigger plate. Love it. Recommend: Ma La Xiang Guo, Xiao Chao Si Gua.

My girlfriend and I have been passing this place for weeks. They were closed because they hadn’t opened for business yet. So when we finally saw that they were open we had to go. I started with the egg drop soup which was pretty good, and then got the General Tso’s Chicken. The chicken was really good. Good flavor, although it could be a bit more spicy. The chicken itself was good. Not fatty, breaded well. My girlfriend got the Wonton Soup, which she enjoyed. For her entrée she got the Shrimp with Walnuts and Mayonnaise Sauce. She was excited when age saw it on the menu because she has been craving it and there’s not many places in Worcester that serve it. She liked it a lot. The service was great. Our waitress was nice and, I’m assuming, the owner or a manager came out to check on us which is always nice. Overall great experience. Will definitely be going back.
