I used to frequent Sweet when I lived in Worcester. The banana foster is to DIE for. I had not been to the newer location yet since moving away, so i was stoked to go. The owner is such a talented woman, but her taste in who she wants representing her dream — not so good. I recently went in there at 3pm on Valentines day. Just had a late lunch and figured lets do dessert. Website said break between brunch and dinner, but did not specify no dessert. We walked in and sat down. About 5 minutes went by and no one acknowledged us. Mind you, about 3 feet from us were 5 employees standing around a table, some taking selfies, and others just looking down right miserable. One woman was actually cleaning up a little. No eye contact was made. We decided to move to the bar. Took the bartender a little bit to acknowledge us(only 1 other person at the bar) and when we finally did get greeted, it was not very warm. At this point, we learned there was no menu until 4 so we left, but I am thinking based on the service we saw thus far, AND the other reviews here, we undoubtedly made the right decision to leave. It’s too bad the employees don’t care about their jobs because I know the owner had to of worked very hard to get to where she is today, and the atmosphere is absolutely beautiful.

Weve tried this place for desserts and lunch and its been good. Location is nice. We couldnt get cupcakes unless they were to go when we got drinks one time, kind of disappointing.

Update review, gave four stars before but I gotta drop one. Still love the food, especially the bloody Marys and dosants, but the service is only getting worse. Slow and inattentive at all hours. The food mostly makes up for it, cant resist this place.

The food and ambiance are great here, but the service is lacking. We’ve dined at Sweet several times now, the hostess is always cranky, you can’t get a coffee refill to save your life, and the kitchen has timing issues. Twice now we’ve come for Sunday brunch and both times one dish was screaming hot and fresh and the other was cold. The fresh squeezed oj is great, but at $ 3.50 for a tiny juice glass, be sure to sip and savor it slowly. Other than cold food, we’ve been pleased with the quality and the menu. If/when they fix the front of house issues, four stars for sure.

Best cupcakes I have ever tried! You can be seated to enjoy your dessert, I usually just order to go and walk out with a box full of deliciousness! I highly recommend the Margarita Cupcake. The Cannoli’s are also to die for.

Cupcakes were dry on multiple occasions. When returned and told server at the counter she began to laugh and said people often say that. Bad business etiquette if you ask me. Don’t think I’ll be returning for any more cupcakes. I think this is too bad because I like to support local business and Sweet used to be great!

On a recent quiet week night we decided to grab dessert at Sweet. Don’t think about ordering anything from the case and expect to have a seat, because you’ll be turned away. Isn’t that great, what kind of dessert place makes you order off the menu to have a seat. Too bad that you would rather have empty tables than a 60 $ sale on a slow weeknight. We will not be back, the hostess was laughing when we left.

Three years later I no longer live in Worcester and have a new SO, so while in town for dinner, thought I’d give this place another shot since I was curious about the new location. Total 180 from my first experience and I had my expectations set pretty low. My server was great but it did seem the hostess was off. We ordered the Nutella mousse to split and we were blown away. It did not take long to come out of the kitchen like the last dessert(an ice cream sundae) I ordered three years ago. Also got a coffee which we thought may have been instant, but whatever. I think you should be able to order a cupcake to go but sit there and mow it down. Seems like college kids would love that after a night of drinking and hence could be a cash cow. Now that this place is on my radar again I am likely to come get a ton of cupcakes to bring to functions/gatherings. I’ve had those before and loved them.

The service is terrible. I’ve come in on a few occasions and the service was hideous, even when the place was otherwise empty. The desserts aren’t that great either. Excellent scotch/drinks menu and the dosants are really good! But the quality of the food is average and given the service, I would recommend other Worcester spots over Sweet.

Sweet is a beautiful small restaurant with a lovely menu and cocktail listing. The only downside is the 45+ minute wait from when we ordered to when we received our food. We came for brunch, and had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated because we didn’t have a reservation, which is fine, parties of five need a bigger table. Our server, Andrea, was so fun and very helpful! She helped picked out cocktails and gave great recommendations on what to order for brunch. She was also very apologetic and incredibly sweet about how long it was taking our food to arrive. She brought us pastries to tide us over. The food was… not disappointing but it definitely hit the lower end of expectation. The Texas Benedict was a little dry, and the pancakes tasted a little pre-made. However the chicken and waffles were fantastic as well as the fritata. All is all, Sweet for brunch wasn’t great but it wasn’t awful, and I do recommend going for their cocktails!

Went here for my first time recently and must say, it’s a really cute spot and I’m surprised I’ve missed coming here in all my years in Worcester. Thought the décor and presentation was impressive. I ordered pumpkin bread pudding and it was pretty good, albeit a bit too sweet. What everyone else ordered looked nice too, yet one of the orders… some banana dish came out and looked meager in comparison to the rest of the plates. In addition, one of my friends needed a box to go home and the one she was given had a dirty wrapper in it. I get it was a little later and maybe it was an oversight, but that was definitely not a good thing.

I’m not sure why I always come here, maybe because it’s the only dessert bar I know of in Worcester. The service is hands down always terrible; ask for water, they’ll forget about it. Put your name on the waitlist, someone who came in after you will be sat ahead of you. If you request something special, it probably won’t happen. The management is a complete mess and their servers are always running around as if their heads are cut off, maybe that’s why they forget everything. The hostesses are never where they’re supposed to be; they have one person to manage the people who want desserts to go and to sit tables. Also, if there’s always going to be such a wait, shouldn’t there be a place for people to wait instead of right next to seated tables breathing down their necks?

The cocktails and desserts here are mind blowing. Over the top fantastic. Having dessert here is an experience. The service however is mind numbingly slow. The bartender is like a snail heading up a hill covered in molasses. Hell, it took me three tries to reset my Unilocal password and type this review and I still don’t know where that cat is. Only six people at the bar and this dude is who the hell knows where. I hate to be the guy to post such a negitive post, but someone MUST talk to this guy. he sucks

This place is incredible. A group of 5 of us did brunch here. The portions were incredible. We all split the farmers frittata, the Texas Benedict, the smoked duck harvest hash, the quiche, and the avacado grilled cheese. Every dish we had tasted incredibly fresh. It was a great meal. We also had a selection of the spirits. The waiter was polite, on time and had a great knowledge of the dishes, desserts, and the drink menu. I would quickly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a good meal in a fun friendly atmosphere.

Such a «sweet» spot! Nothing like this around! We loved finding this unique hang out. Such a great post dinner spot or place to hang and chat with friends. The décor is perfectly fitting and extremely well done! All of the desserts are delicious and you can truly tell there is love and passion that goes in to making the food! We will definitely be back. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was our waitress wasn’t the best. She never brought over an item that was ordered and when we asked for specific change when cashing out she simply said she«didn’t have it», instead of getting it from a register or another waitress. It’s those simple extra steps that separate a good waitress from a great waitress. Going the extra mile pays off!

Anyone who has a large sweet tooth and an open mind will love this relaxed dessert lounge. With a changing menu that combines new classics and old favorites to create a unique dining experience. After trying both a peaches and cream cupcake and the baked Alaska(on separate occasions) I believe I can say that the flavors are rich and dynamic within each dish. Sweet is good for brunch with the family and for a late night get together with friends due to its eclectic ambiance and location next to Volturno on Shrewsberry Street. Would definitely recommend.

I stopped in here last evening to pick up cupcakes with my 9 y/o. I didn’t realize there was an event going on so the parking lot was almost full and many people were milling around. There was an attendant sitting there asking for your destination. At Sweet there was a line. I asked if they were there to eat or purchase cupcakes. They were kind enough to let us through so we could purchase cupcakes. This seems much more a restaurant than a cupcakery. I noticed a sign that asked cupcake patrons to leave available seating to restaurant patrons if seating is limited. Not a friendly atmosphere at all. The cupcakes just seem like an afterthought. The cupcakes are at the front, right by the door. There was a gentleman at the register and I indicated we wanted to purchase cupcakes. He said ok but didn’t move to help us. After some discussion we decided on the ones we wanted and I told the gentleman we were ready. I noticed that the cupcake prices varied and the box did not contain cupcake dividers. We were just happy the box closed. These cupcakes are filled and nicely decorated. There is also a nice assortment of flavors. I had a taste of each and they were moist, not too sweet, but were unfortunately, lacking in the flavor department. They tasted like the same cupcake, vanilla, with slightly different frosting and toppings. The biggest disappointment out of our assortment was the cannoli one. I did not enjoy it and neither did the children. We took a few bites and trashed the remaining. The cannoli filling just did not taste like anything. Ironic that it was the most expensive one out of the 6 we picked. I usually get red velvet at every cupcakery we visit. This one was a bright red. The flavor was unremarkable. Our favorite red velvet is the one from Georgetown Cupcake. The favorite of the children was the chocolate truffle. I agree with the children that this one was very good. The best one out of our assortment. I would rate these cupcakes a little above average, average being ones you get from a regular bakery or the grocery store. The fillings and cute decorations are nice but they didn’t make the cupcakes taste better. Also these are pretty pricey. For my box of 6, it came to $ 25.68. I wouldn’t mind if the taste lived up to the price.

atmosphere: adorable! Cute chandeliers, spacious dining area and the menus were plentiful and unique. We were interested in many things off the menu but stuck to the basics; cannoli and cupcake. Raspberry cupcake was good but we were disappointed in the cannolis. They were bland, barely sweet and the shell had a funny flavor. Wish I had tried the margarita cupcake which looked amazing! Drinks were yummy, but overpriced.
