I’ve been here several times, and the food is consistently good. The breakfasts here are particularly good. Service is pretty much what you’d expect at a New Jersey dinner. Nothing high class, but friendly. Convenient to the Joint Base.

The absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced! Not only did they not greet me when waiting for a seat but after I asked if they they were open they responded yes and said nothing else. I had to ask where I could sit, then I wasn’t offered a menu or coffee. I had to ask if I could order food! Food was okay and came out quickly but lacking in flavor. Maybe it’s too early for these folks but I assure I will never return.

Fast, friendly service any time of day. Giant gyro and appealing sides. A winner!

My daughter and I ordered the salmon special. There was SOMUCH food for $ 12.95. We could not finish it. They give you soup AND salad. The beef barley was delicious. The cream of chicken was OK. I ordered Greek dressing for my salad, and it even included Feta Cheese — not just Greek dressing. And the olives were fresh, not canned. I thought the grilled salmon was delicious. I ordered the fried eggplant and coleslaw as a side and my daughter had broccoli and green beans. The green beans were over cooked, but the broccoli was fine. The eggplant was a little greasy, but tasted great with marinara sauce. They even brought free cinnamon rolls, not old bread like some of the other places I go to, and there were free coffee refills, even though it was not breakfast time. We took food home before our complimentary dessert, so I called and was told I could get the free pudding or jello the next time I come. I thought our waitress was very friendly. I don’t know what other people are complaining about. As far as diners go, it was an excellent value. I would go back. I was there on Sunday, Oct. 3, 2015.

5 stars because the French toast never lets me down! I order it every time I come in here no matter what time of day it is and it’s perfect every single time! It’s amazing I can’t even explain it! They bake the bread in-house; it’s legit y’all! They never let me down on my bacon either! I ask for extra crispy and they give it to me extra crispy every single time!!!

Bland, tasteless, boring food. Please don’t waste your money on this place. And if you decide to just get a burger. It’s all they are good for. Pasta is terrible. Wings are bad. I could go on. Just get anything burgers along with their desert selections.

This restaurant deserves 0 stars. While my waitress was fantastic(yet harried, in a ‘I want to take care of my customers but this place is awful kind of way), this restaurant is truly among the worst diners I have ever visited. It was dirty and dingy, the décor is rather out of date, and it’s not well-kept. Imagine filthy carpeting and beveled mirrors … THAT kind of décor. This restaurant deserves 0 stars. Overall, a very depressing vibe. Food took a solid hour to arrive. Meal was absolutely awful. Well below what should be «diner standard.» This is, hands-down, the worst meal i have had put in front of me in several years. Avoid!!! This restaurant deserves 0 stars. PS: This restaurant deserves 0 stars.

I travel frequently. Most of my travels take me to the north east. I eat at diners, restaurants, cafes’, chain restaurants and some fast food. I’ve ate at this diner for the last 15 years. I stop almost every time I am in the area. The food is diner food. If you are expecting gourmet, go into the city and eat there. I like most of the food. Some food needs to be tossed, but for the most part it’s good. My complaint is with the hostess. She is rude, cold, never makes eye contact, needs an attitude adjustment, and seems as if she doesn’t want to be there. I honestly believe she doesn’t like people. She needs to go. This is not the person I want my customers to be the first to deal with. But overall I will still continue to eat here. At least until they sell or close down.

Good old Garden State Diner! If you want to have a nice dinner out with the family for cheap, this is a great place! Not gourmet food but it gets the job done. I personally love their vodka angel hair with prosciutto and sun-dried tomatoes off of their specials on Thursday night. Can’t beat a 3 course meal for under $ 18 bucks. Rice pudding is yummy. Definitely appreciate this place as a local. The servers are always nice.

Stopped in for quick lunch. The place was not busy. Waitress who served me was very talkative and friendly. Her name is Michele. I ordered grilled chicken sandwich and was good, but the fries were not fresh. Maybe, they refried it again. The pickle that came with the sandwich was not fresh either. Over all it was a good experience.

Dropped in for a quick brunch and the service was anything bit fast. We waited for over 40 minutes for our meals.

I give this place one star because there was not the option of zero. I have given this place chance after chance because it is the closest to where we live, but no longer. Service is slow and the food is not worth the cost. Be careful of extra sides. I paid 16.00 for an omelette because I added bacon and ham.

Dropped in yesterday for lunch, I had an excellent Reuben sandwich. Very tasty. Fiancée liked her home fries, had a crispy outer coating. Service was great, only issue we had(the same issue we had in our last visit) was an insect — this time, a fly kept landing on our heads throughout the meal.

Average. At best. I ordered two eggs, pork roll and toast on my first visit today. It was average. Coffee tasted like swill, only in a smaller cup. Below average. Service, well… average. So there you have it, I probably won’t be back because there are better options in the area. If I want average, I’ll just eat at the chow hall on Base, at least it’s cheap!

Food was bland, but not offensive to the palate. Service was horrible. Waitress was intellectually inept. Would not recommend.

My husband and I took a family of 8 for lunch on Super Bowl Sunday. The food was typical diner food. Service was very, very nice, accommodating and attentive. PLENTY of food, the fried chicken was wonderful, nicely cooked. Yes it could use a sprucing up.

My favorite spot when I’m in the area. It is the classic breakfast place, and the staff is amazing. Wicked friendly and really out going. Breakfast was top notch, coffee was better than I expected. The whole place could be redone, but I feel it is a nice warm atmosphere.

I’ve been here a few times recently, mostly because of the limited lunch options around work, and I really have no complaints. Granted, you have to take it for what it is, a diner, but they have a decent variety of lunch specials during the week and the service is usually fine for the lunch crowd. Not the best, not the worst… at least for the middle of nowhere.
