This place is so much fun. Only thing I didn’t like is the lack of taking credit card on night where they are having a fundraiser. The ask you to go to an ATM. Other than that, amazing time.

Really fun outing. Wasn’t sure what to expect but the instructors made it super easy. There was plenty of men there and they also enjoyed the evening. This place is BYOB and snacks. They supplied plastic cups but we brought our own glasses. Definitely a fun night out. A must try.

I love Pips! I’ve been to 5 painting classes since finding them & more & more of my girlfriends keep wanting to go back with me! It’s a great girls night out & the staff here is way more fun than a few of the other studios I have tried. Even those who aren’t «skilled» at painting leave with a painting they love & a good time was always had by all! Pip Pip Hooray!

I have been to pips twice now(both fall 2013) and enjoyed my time. We highly recommend it to friends and family. It’s what you should expect from the new craze(drinking wine and painting type studios). You walk in, pay and grab your seat and a smock(Vera Bradley!) and get ready to panic over your drawing capabilities. BUT that being said they made it super easy to follow along. The first time I went for for a fundraiser and was with all people I knew so it was extra fun. The second time was for a breast cancer Tuesday. Lots of fun, great with friends and family.(Moms, grandmas, sister, aunts) I even changed one of the paintings color palettes to match my bathroom décor(made it more complicated, but I wanted to actually use the piece not hide it)

I have many creative and artistic qualities but free hand drawing and/or painting is not one of them. Try as I have(and as a youngster I did try – I TRIEDSOHARD, YOUGUYS) it just hasn’t happened for me. I can sew a quilt, make a doll, decorate a cake. But a painting? Hot mess. It’s been years since I picked up a paint brush but my aunt asked me to join her at Pips for a friend’s cancer fundraiser and I thought that was as good a time any to face my failures. I was in. Let’s paint some gerber daisies! We arrived and even though it was a full house of ladies there was still plenty of street parking. Everyone there was friendly as friendly can be. They took our payments up front and we settled in. The space is adorable. Very colorful with loads of cutesy paintings on the walls. Big windows let in loads of natural light and fun doorknobs affixed to the walls are the perfect place to hang your bag or grab an apron. Tables are lined up throughout the two rooms and they’re filled with easels, brushes, water, and paints. Finally, there are a few tables scattered throughout for parties to bring in snacks, wine, and other beverages to enjoy as they paint. The painting is led by a gal from the studio. She directs you through the first steps and a beyond. She was very outgoing, had a fantastic sense of humor and was incredibly lively. She breaks down the steps and makes everything seem very easy. Which meant that although not everyone(including myself) was particularly good at the brush strokes and such, at least everyone’s paintings look a little like flowers(some might have just been more abstract than others). The crowd was encouraged to have fun, chat, and enjoy the evening. Which made it a pretty casual and merry experience. The whole session ran about 2.5 hours with plenty of food/drink/bathroom breaks throughout. And when we finished everyone took home a painting with them. Mine turned out ok. I’m still no Van Gogh but at least it was kind of cute! And I had a blast painting it. For a night out with the gals or to arrange a fundraiser this is a great place to go and enjoy an activity together. Whether you have any artistic ability or not.
