I ate here with my husband and young child. The service was quick and the restaurant is clean and nicely decorated, but it was a little loud. The reason for just 2 stars is mostly because they refused to serve my 2 year old daughter a single slice of pizza even though they serve pizza by the slice on the other side of the restaurant. The smallest option was a 10″ pizza, which was way too much for a toddler to eat. I can’t believe they wouldn’t allow a slice to be ordered for such a young child considering the adults were ordering full entrees! I ordered the veal parm and wasn’t too impressed. The veal was well prepared, but the sauce was a thin sauce that tasted like something out of a jar. The price point seems high for the type of restaurant and quality of food, especially since entrees don’t come with a salad.

We have been to this combo pizzeria and restaurant twice now, and the staff is so nice that I really WANT to like it, but at the end of the day I have to say that it is average food in a pretty noisy atmosphere. The portions are enormous, which I know may be a draw for some, but leaves us feeling overwhelmed. We both had«starter» salads which could have been a meal in and of itself. I tried the 10 inch pizza margarita, which was nice and hot from the oven, albeit a little stingy on the cheese. The Southern husband had a gigantic prosciutto and mozzarella sandwich which came with a veritable mountain of salad… very serviceable but not memorable. The noise level was deafening, complete with many, many families with small kids — exactly the kind of place I felt comfortable with when I had a toddler, but when you are a couple out for dinner you might want to opt for someplace a little smaller.

Fantastic service, the owners are amazing. The food is exceptional. Ask to have things the way you want it, and they will accommodate. I eat here once a week. It is the best Italian food in Wyckoff

Im not impressed with the pizza, EXCEPT the white pizza. That is the only reason i go here. It is amazing, the plain pizza is average at best and the other specialty pizza are ok. The entrees and sandwiches are ok as well, but they are overpriced for what it is. This is a typical Wyckoff restaurant you go for the«scene» and to see others from the neighborhood.

I’ve been going to this restaurant for awhile now. They have great food and a nice and comfortable diningroom. I would have given it 5 stars, but there was a problem today. My friend and I were in a hurry, so I called in my order, but said that it was to stay. We get there around 2pm and the phone girl said that we weren’t allowed to sit in their empty diningroom because we called in the order. Don’t try to figure it out. I have no clue what she was talking about.

A good quick place to grab a bite to eat. It has two entrances: one for fast food and another for the restaurant. Tried the arugula and prosciutto pizzetta(good for one or two people) and hubby had the calzone. Need to come back with a larger group to try the larger pizzas!

Good neighborhood BYO Italian eatery but I can’t say it was anything special. My boyfriend and I were seated promptly and well taken care of throughout the meal by our waiter and the rest of the staff. They immediately brought out warm ciabatta bread and focaccia-like rolls that were great. We ordered a gluten-free pizza as an appetizer($ 16 for a 12″ pie) and for the two additional toppings they charged us the $ 6 shown on the menu, which was the price listed under the regular 18″ and Sicilian pies so I thought this was overkill considering 1 of the toppings was just fresh garlic. That being said, the crust was pretty good and the sauce was tasty. For entrees I ordered the Ravioli Pertuso(4) huge ravioli stuffed with short rib in a porcini mushroom cream sauce. I was hoping since the sauce and filling were so decadent, the pasta would be smaller and the dough would be lighter but it felt just as heavy as it sounds. The short rib had a lot of flavor but the cream sauce wasn’t anything out of the ordinary. My boyfriend had gluten-free rigatoni with the Bolognese and although the pasta was impressive, the sauce was lackluster. I would try some of their regular pies and chicken/veal dishes if I ever came again though there are some other restaurants nearby that I would want to try before returning.

The food was very good! Prices were higher than I expected from a pizzeria($ 30 for the fish(cod) special and $ 24 for the chicken). It was VERYLOUD. We brought our elderly parents and we could not have a conversation without yelling at each other. Service was great, very crowded,(20 minute wait for a table at 6:30 on a Wednesday) excellent arancini(rice balls) appetizer!

Very tasty pizza! Esp love the crust. Nonna pizza and the grandpa pizza was my favorite. Lot of options for veggie lovers like me:)

Incredibly fast, accurate, and polite service. Grandfather’s pizza with eggplant and ricotta is different, fresh, and delicious. House salad was fresh but could have been more creative. Nice atmosphere but very noisy when it’s full. Have had a couple really great meals here, going to make it a regular place.

This place is extremely overpriced. $ 16 for a salad… it looks like it was thrown together in 30 seconds, it was not filling and did not come with the bread as promised. I will definitely not be back.

My family and I are regulars… as in we eat here 1x a week and also get take out another night each week. We love the food! Friday and Saturday nights are busy but otherwise we always get a table right away. The menu is pretty simple italian, though it’s hard to find something carb-lite on the menu. I usually order the appetizer meat balls which come with ricotta cheese! The salad pizzas are also good. BYOB or buy their New Jersey wines… the Pinot Grigio half bottle from NJ is actually great. I think it’s from lambertville NJ.

This place has what is easily the BEST white pizza on the face of the earth! They use their own homemade garlic-infused olive oil in the dough(so I’m told) and the pizza comes out thin and crispy like real Italian pizza should be. It’s always consistent quality and the ambiance(in the restaurant area anyway) is very friendly and quick service. I went last month with two friends who love mussels and they said Mandara’s mussels were some of he best they’d ever had. They were served in a fra diavolo sauce that was a perfect level of spicy and the mussels were cooked to perfection. I’m not sure how their other dishes and pizza are, but will post a follow up review after I sample more.

A bit disappointed that it took so long for our orders to arrive. Other than that, tasty Italian cuisine for a great price.

Really excellent buffalo chicken pizza, the best in the area actually full of flavor and the chicken isn’t dry. The prices are a bit steep, 3.50 a slice but it’s worth it for the quality and to dine in an upscale environment. I noticed that the men in the back who make the pizzas were not wearing gloves however, which was disgusting and odd to me. Overall, a good pizza place.

The white pizza is very flavorful with just the right amount of ingredients. Been there twice. Second time was at the side where you get individual slices. Got over-charged for two slices and a pellegrino. It didn’t well with me so I called when I got in my car. They charged me for a large bottle instead. I went back and got the difference back with no problems. My issue is that the receipt that one gets after paying is not itemized and there are no prices on the boards. Yes, one should always ask the price of something before buying it even a slice of pizza. But the owners should display the prices so that everyone can see them without having to ask. Because of that I only give them three stars. Will eat there again? Yes.

I have dined here a couple of times and my last experience wasn’t great. Service was slow. Pizza was burned and toppings incorrect. I have never had a burnt pizza from here and when I wanted to send it back the server wasn’t happy. He went off on this tangent on how the ovens are really hot and that’s why all their pizzas come out burnt. I sent that pizza back. The second one came out perfect like the last ones I’ve had, but the server insisted that they made this pizza special for the table. He went on to say that next time I need to be more specific with my future orders. Smh. The correct pizza was excellent like all the other times. Tried the caprese salad and that was really great. Give the place a try.

Pizza mandara is a fast serviced and delicious food restaurant. Our wait wasn’t too long at 7:00 on a Saturday night and as soon as we sat down they brought us our drinks right away. Our appetizer(mozzarella balls which were delicious!) came out in approximately 5 minutes. After, we ordered pizza which came out not too long after, 15 – 20 minutes, and it was hot and really pleasing to the mouth!!! Totally recommend this restaurant!!! On another note we sat next to a party of 12– and our server was caught up between the two tables. Other then that we had a pleasing dining experience. BYOB as well.

Not quite four stars, but not three either. If it were possible, I’d give Pizzeria Mandara three and a half stars(its current overall rating on Unilocal!). The restaurant was pretty packed last night when I arrived with a party of six. For a Saturday night around 6pm, this is to be expected. And of course, if it were anything but busy at this time, it would be a warning sign. It was a short wait, perhaps five minutes, but this provided me with a few moments to observe the Italian family-oriented décor. There are pictures of(presumably) the restaurant owner’s family lining the walls, creating a genuine intimate environment despite how spacious it is. The waiter, a young guy who appeared attentive and ready to take our order, answered any questions we had about the items on the menu. We decided to start with a couple of appetizers, even though we were promptly served two baskets of bread, garlic knots, and butter upon arrival; the oreganata(baked clams, $ 18 for a dozen), topped with breadcrumbs and herbs and baked in a white wine sauce, and the bocconcini fritti(mozzarella balls, $ 10), breaded, fried, and served with marinara sauce, would arrive at the table twenty minutes later. I don’t eat fish, but everyone else in my party was content with the clams; nothing special, although the white wine sauce immensely contributed to the flavor. Likewise, the mozzarella balls were just basic mozzarella sticks — but in the shape of balls — enriched by the marinara sauce. Our food was brought to the table about fifteen minutes after we finished our appetizers. We were so full of bread and the starter dishes that no one thought they’d have room for the main course! However, the visual presentation of the meals was impressive. My salad looked like a work of art, although the taste wasn’t as appealing. The Italian dressing seemed to diminish the flavor of the vegetables, rather than improve their taste; it was oily, almost watered down, and after a few bites I immediately regretted pouring it on my plate. The rest of my party had a similar reaction to their own meals: the presentation was beautiful, but the food ultimately lacked in flavor(they ordered Penne alla Vodka [$ 15], Pasta Mandara [$ 17], Capri Sandwich [$ 13], Pasta Vongole [$ 18], and Pasta Carbonara [$ 16]). This isn’t so much a comment on the food I personally sampled, but the table next to us ordered a plain cheese pizza, and I must admit that it didn’t look appetizing at all. It just seemed like a pizza ordered from any take-out pizzeria. I mention this because the restaurant’s name is Pizzeria Mandara. The pizza should look and taste irresistible. However, based on my entire party’s experience with their meals — lovely on the eyes, average to the mouth — I have my doubts. If Pizzeria Mandara wasn’t so pricey, I could forgive the lackluster food. But the price and the quality of the food just doesn’t match up, and that’s why it receives three stars(or three and a half).
