Went in the drive thru to pick up some bbq yesterday… 3 sandwiches cost $ 17! No sides or drinks either! The«attitude» from the server was free, after I asked for extra napkins. My chopped beef was bland, and had a lot of fat. Was one of the worst bbq sandwiches I’ve ever had… Spring Creek is much better. I’ll look for other options next time. :(

Clean restaurant, friendly staff, good looking cashier that took my order, great food. I had the Westerner sandwich Plate W/2 sides. On the sandwich, I had the turkey breast and beef brisket, both were cooked to perfection, and melted in your mouth. For my sides, I had the waffle iron fries, that was cooked to order, and I had the Mac and cheese, which was so creamy. The portions were a good size, couldn’t finish the fries. Then I had good old sweet tea to drink. Will definitely be coming back to this location.

A BBQ place that’s always put their heart into their sides. Never a bad meal. Great quantities, good flavor. Potatoes and okra fried to order. Fresh ice tea. Try the green beans with bacon, you won’t regret it. … just stay away from the sausage with cheese; stick with the polish if you do sausage.

Ever had the chicken here? I mean, who goes to a BBQ place for chicken anyway, right? WRONG! Give it a try… does not disappoint!

I’ve never been a huge Dickey’s fan but they do a decent brisket. Most of the time I get a sandwich and it’s always good. Some if the sides aren’t great but I had dill potato salad and my guest had loaded mash potatoes and they were both outstanding.

While passing through Wylie, my husband and I stopped for a quick dinner having never heard of Dickey’s before. I ordered a salad and was very disappointed in the size for the $$. The baked beans tasted like they were straight out of a can… almost cold, too. My husband ordered a 2 meat plate and the serving size was very small for the $$($ 11.49). Additionally, the staff were not very friendly… almost like they were too busy to be considerate. Don’t waste your time.

Good food. I have always enjoyed going to Dickeys. This particular Dickeys has the good food, but poor customer service. Each time you go in there it is something new. The service ranges from the people not being able to communicate in English, people forgetting/omitting items from your order, to the older lady who acts like she has better things to do than take and fill your order.

Craving smoked turkey, I went during lunch to make sure it would be fresh. Got a pound of turkey to go. On the way out, I stopped to get onions and noticed that the turkey looked like white spam. So I tasted it, and it was LUNCHMEAT! Yep, smoked turkey breast like you get from the Walmart deli. I went straight back to the counter and stated that this is lunch meat, not fresh turkey. They tried to deny it. More annoying is that they all of sudden did not speak good english. They spoke it fine when I arrived. So I kind of argued with them, trying to get them to admit it was not a fresh, raw breast that they personally smoked. FINALLY they said that they get it and warm it in the smoker. Um hum, that’s what I thought. I buy lunch meat. If I wanted to pay 13.00 for lunch meat… Well, I won’t. So I got the brisket instead. It’s ok. Not really very smoky but ok. Why the heck do they sell LUNCHMEAT for BBQ?

They used to be great, but over the years it has become horrible. We will never go back. This last time, the meat did not have a smokey flavor and the sides were disgusting, as if they had been out for hours without being changed. We paid $ 30 for 2 adults and a child. What a horrible mistake. This was the third visit in a row with sub-par food. I am a big barbeque fan, and I live in Wylie, so it is disappointing that I have to spend my money outside of Wylie to get a decent barbeque meal. Currently I drive to the Plano Dickeys or the Garland Spring Creek Barbeque if I’m near home. For the record, I work in Dallas, and we occassionally visit the Dickeys at Forest Lane/Central Expwy. It is much better than the Wylie location as well. I don’t claim that Dickeys is the best, but it seems to me that for the most part, the chain has decent food with the exception of the Wylie location.

Honestly, I do not see how this place is still in business. I ordered two brisket sandwiches with one side each. My total was $ 14. Way overpriced for the quality of the meal we recieved. The meat had very little smoke flavor and came with very little BBQ sauce. Also, it was supposed to come with pickles and onions… I got all the way home to find that they had forgotten the onions and pickles. Who eats BBQ without pickles? The mac & cheese was beyond terrible. I picked up dinner at 5:30 and it tasted like it had been sitting under heat lamps since 10:00am. And the the baked potato casserole wasn’t any better. I will not be back.

I ‘d rather drive the extra distance to spring creek in Garland for BBQ. This place just seems so overpriced for the quality. The BBQ chicken is laughable, the brisket is ok. The only plus is the drive-thru and even then we only get the okra.

I didn’t want to do it. But I had to. A 2 star Dickey’s BBQ review! There will be an investigation! Ok, I’ve been a Dickey’s BBQ expert for years. I have been to this location before, just after it opened in 2004. It was great! As Chris L. says… the quality has dropped. I was looking for some BBQ the other night. it was after 8 pm, when the Dickey’s on 14th in Plano had closed. I knew this store was still open, AND had a drive thru! So off I went. Ordered the 2 meat combo(brisket and hot links) with mac and cheese and fried okra. The hot links, mac and cheese, and fried okra? They were ALL excellent… so that is a good thing. The brisket? It appeared it had been over cooked, but not actually smoked. It looked bland and tasted that way. I was SHOCKED! The roll? I liked it better when they served a slice of Texas Toast that got a little butter on the«wheel». This little bun thing? Ok I guess. The fact they had a drive thru is a plus. I will have to go back and eat inside for my next and possibly last visit to this store. Maybe they just had an off day on the brisket? I sure hope so!

Love Dickey’s. The meal is always good and consistent. Never had a bad meal or service. And, the ice cream is so yummie. My ONLY complaint is the television — please turn off the sound! If I wanted to watch TV, I would stay home. I would prefer when out to have a conversation with my friends without shouting and to enjoy the meal. WHY do american restaurants think we want LOUD noise when eating??? It’s just the opposite… some light background music would be ok, but please keep it LOW. It should be BACKGROUND music… Hope you’re listening…

Nice atmosphere for a Dickey’s – they did a good job of capturing a ramshackle roadhouse feel for this one. But this places lacks one serious piece of BBQ shack goodness – no smell of smoke. BIG problem. I’ve been getting takeout at this location for a couple of years and the quality of the food has steadily declined as the chain expands. 1) the bread used to be the BOMB. Now it tastes like it’s baked offsite, frozen, and then heated prior to serving. 2) the flavor of the meat, again, has declined. Dickey’s has never been the BESTBBQ out there, but it was still pretty tasty. My last trip a few days ago was the worst. There was no crust on the brisket, no smoke ring, no TASTE of smoke. It was tough and fatty(not fatty in the good BBQ snot way either). The ribs were horrific and tasted as if they had been cooked in an oven. The ham tasted spongey and cheap(like a canned armor ham). The mac & cheese tasted of cardboard and fake cheese. Bleh. Dickey’s, why hast thou forsaken me?

The meat is good, the sides are good, and the price is good. BBQ purists like to scoff at Dickey’s(besides the original one downtown) and while I agree it’s not the best, it’s still good and I eat here plenty when I don’t want to drive all the way to Big Daddy’s.

Not bad. As far as the BBQ goes I could take it or leave it but the chicken Caesar salad is so very good. Fries are yummy, okra too. This location is pretty good. It’s one of those places that is like a fast food chain to me but a good fast food chain. I’ll go back…
