Meteor Hamburgers

My husband and I went hoping to find a new favorite burger joint now that we’ve moved to Wylie. We were sorely disappointed. Fries were unremarkable, fried green beans were bland, mushroom and Swiss burger was so greasy the bun literally oozed grease when I picked it up. My husband had a turkey burger and it was less greasy yet still below average in flavor. Definitely won’t be coming back.

The burgers are five stars! I LOVED my burger, it was really delicious!!! We were super disappointed in the fries though. They tasted a little old maybe, not much flavor, and soggy. My husband and I said if we go back we will just not get the fries. I will definitely go back for a burger!

Sloppy burger. Maybe it was the time of day 9pm.
I understand everyone wants to get home but…

Tried it again, this time with a to go order around 3:00 pm so it was an off hour with about 3 people dining inside. Food was cooked fresh and burgers were ok, but bland — would have preferred a little salt and pepper.
Fries were awful! Greasy, soggy with some being burnt. Not sure if we received some that were from a prior batch but personally there are better places for me to spend my money for a burger and fries. At this point, I do need to come back. Just disappointed since it is so close!

Best burgers in Wylie! I love the retro ambiance, we always eat inside. The seasoned salt + fries are divine. Stop in and try it yourself!

Great juicy burgers but horrible french fries! I think i got the end of the bag. Broken pieces, filled with oil and over fried. Everything else was really good and good service. They need to bring sweet potato fries. Just saying

Burger and onion rings were delicious BUT there was no where to avoid the freezing cold air conditioning.

First time here. Food came out pretty quick. Large was probably only quarter pound. Small was about a third of a pound. Taste was good but food was cold. If you don’t like pepper beware they use it to season with.

The chicken tenders are actually bite sized pieces as explained to be by the manager/​owner when I questioned the size of half inch to inch and a half pieces I received in my meal. Between the lack of concern and seeing how this can be deceptive to customers and the grease soaked fries, my business will be taken elsewhere.
Update: Not only did the owner post my last name which I think is intrusive and unprofessional in a response to a review, he also accused me of harassing him when I asked him to remove it. After reading other reviews and seeing how he passively aggressively attacks someone for leaving their honest experience and review of Meteor Hamburgers this seems to be his nature. His behavior is far worse than the food, please think twice before trying this place. I will not let a bully who is unhappy with my review silence what I have say. His continued accusations and responses show exactly how this man deals with negative reviews and harasses people himself. This is my personal review and experience, you do not have to agree with it nor like it.

Ordering was quick and simple.
Food was good to very good… burger and onion rings. Added grilled onions and grilled jalapeños which were very good and gave my burger the punch I like.
Service was excellent… made to feel at home and that everything was as expected. Any request made of service staff was responded to immediately.
To summarize simply… if you want a good burger with great service, it’s worth the trip.

First, I want to say the food is fine, but the service is ridiculous. We have been there twice. The fist time they said when we ordered it would be 25 minutes. It took over 40 minutes. We went again yesterday, we ordered, and waited and waited. Then we noticed people who had come in after us had already received their food and were finishing and leaving and we still had not recieve ours yet. We went back up to the counter and they said they were sorry. About 15 minutes later, we got our food. Manager apologized, but nothing taken off our bill or even comp off our next visit. Ridiculous.

New favorite hamburger eatery and it’s right on our doorstep. All our meals were spot on and it’s not often I say that. Just the right amount of juicy. Loved the homemade fries too. It was super busy but service was good.

Alas a horrible to-​go experience at Meteor. After a 30 minute wait for a couple of burgers and fries/​onion rings I went up to check. And the finger pointing behind the counter began… net result. 2 cold burgers that had been sitting in a bag for 10ish minutes, and piping hot fries/​rings served with a glare. No manager thought my comments about the cold side being cold were worthy of his/​her presence (a lot of teenagers appeared to be running the show). To be honest, the lady assembling the burgers did finally offer to remake the burgers, after I had expressed my annoyance to the teens up front to no effect, but I would have had to wait yet another 5 – 10 minutes. No doubt my fries/​rings would have been cold by then.
No, «I will make this right»…no offer of a refund or a treat on the next visit. Just a «sucks to be you» attitude from the staff. Ahhhh customer service, where have thou gone?

Fresh cut fries are really good. And the condiment bar has some good stuff, especially the hot sauce. Pretty good burger, the toasted bun was my favorite. Not a good drink selection but it worked.
Good prices and good food though. Would definitely come back.

Love the burgers and atmosphere. We’ve been a fan for months since we tried it but, BUYER BEWARE!
A couple times the cashier entered the order wrong and overcharged — no big deal. They happily corrected the error. My wife and I tend to order close to the same thing every time we come and I started noticing differences in prices. They’ve recently started charging extra for To Go orders (which is not disclosed). They also charge extra depending on what cheese you choose when the menu only shows one price for cheese. This is also the case for the milk shakes. They charge extra for peanut butter but there is only one price listed for milk shakes.
I realize we are talking about a few dollars extra per order. I am happy to pay the charge. The food is great! But the fact that these surcharges are not advertised and not shown on the receipt is not a good business practice.
Please update your menu, put up signs, and/​or have the cashiers disclose the surcharges during ordering.

Visiting from Houston and my uncle suggested this place! Went during lunch hour on a Friday so it was crowded but not too bad of a wait for 5 to go hamburgers. A lot of cool trinkets in the restaurant. 4 stars because out of the 5 burgers they messed up the pregnant girls (mine) and I was starving! Lol fries smelled good but unfortunately didn’t taste that great. Everybody liked the burgers though!

Burgers are good, but the fries are terrible. Mine tasted cold, and way uncooked. Returned them, received fresh undercooked fries. Nice people though.
Glad Wylie has an independent burger joint.

Soooooo good! Best burger I have EVER had! Literally melts in your mouth and I can’t believe we haven’t been sooner.
–Not to mention they have fountain Rc Cola, I almost died.

This is some Goooood stuff!..
I love cars and see car shows going on here all the time in the summer, so finally I had a chance to stop in, and glad I did! I like that they go all out on their toppings. This isn’t just a lettuce tomato pickles onion kind of place. If that’s what you want, then they definitely have it, but if you want to get freaking crazy, then you’ve definitely come to the right place!
I made the mistake of getting a double meat burger with a huge stack of fries. I’m not in high school any more, so I should have just gotten the smaller burger. I was miserably happy when I left, and I will be coming back again soon!
Forgot to mention, they have a peanut butter burger!!!
This will be next on my list of to gets!!!
Crazy, but probably heavenly!
Side note:
The owner was actually busting tables and checking to see how everyone’s food was and if he could get them anything else. I had to give this place 5 stars based on the food and the service! I hope they stay on the map, cuz it is Mmmmm good!
