Oh my gosh, so when was the last time you were happy someone gave you a shot and drilled your teeth? I must affirm again that after my fillings today, I believe I have never had such a compassionate, empathetic, kind, and professional dentist than Dr. Ames.
I am a wuss, chicken, coward, call me what you will. My childhood was riddled with very bad medical and dental experiences. That being said I wanted the laughing gas today. After what seemed like about 5 minutes, I really didn’t feel any different. Maybe a slight bit less apprehensive, but still nervous.
Dr. Ames and his amazing staff take their time, they consider your feelings, and want you to be comfortable. Today once we realized the gas wasn’t really making a huge difference, he proceeded to get to work. Did the shot hurt? Yes, it stung a bit but only for a second, and the second one which they warned me would probably hurt more actually hurt less. I know I probably slowed Dr. Ames down with his schedule today but you would never know it. And they stopped both times i felt pressure while he was cleaning out my old filling, not pain, just pressure and it made me a bit scared. Man did they have tons of patience with an old coward like me. If I were a kid, this is the only dentist I would have wanted.
If you want a fantastic experience with the Dentist, I am telling you, I implore you, I beg you, go to Dr. Ames. If you don’t live in Xenia, trust me, it will be worth the drive.
This man and his entire staff set the standard for quality, exceptional, compassionate dental care, bar none!!!

Good Dentist. Very friendly staff. It would be nice if they had more evening appointments so my kids didn’t have to either miss school or wait 2 – 3 months on an appointment. Only bad thing is they have the MOST uncomfortable waiting room seats I have ever sat in.
