I wanted to like this place. I ordered the carne asada burrito. Carne asada should be strength of any respectable Mexican restaurant. It was more like a beef jerky burrito. The meat had most likely been cooked a day or two prior and had been sitting under a heating lamp. This does not make for a good burrito. In a place that already has too many Mexican restaurants, this place falls short. I will not return.

Ok so the not so classy sign under sells the replacement for the formerly failed Sloppy Slaw at 33rd and Nob Hill opened today. Let’s do the checklist for what’s likely the 10,000th Mexican restaurant in Yakima!: Lots of employees and customers running around speaking, well, Spanish. CHECK. How about the authentic factor? A+ Their marinated pork was mouth watering, they even have Tongue and other VERY Hispanic menu items you won’t find at any other place. Even a Sunday morning Menudo in Tripe, and Pork meat by the pound — awesome! Much cleaner than your average road side taco wagon but first taste says I’ll be back again, if for nothing else to chuckle at their sign, but yeah for the food too!
