Their new remodel is great! The front desk guy was super friendly and helpful. The entire city lost power while we were there and the manager came in even though it was night time to make sure he was available to all the guests. The continental breakfast was really good, every thing was fresh and lots of choices. Our stay was very comfortable and enjoyable, especially for the price! I will definitely be back.

Clean and updated property. The grounds and lobby are well maintained. The staff were kind upon checking in and leaving. Fast wifi connection. The only thing is the regular king rooms are super small as far as square footage but that’s not a deal breaker for me as long as things are clean. The mattress and pillows were comfortable. I got a good nights sleep. The room rate was just under $ 100 which seemed like a good deal for what you’re getting. I would recommend staying here for business travel or stopping over during road trips.

THISHOTELHAS A FIRESAFETYISSUE! My 16-month-old toddler was shocked by the 220v A/C unit electrical outlet in room #221. The large, 220v outlet does NOT plug in flush with the socket, exposing about ¾″ of the electrical plug hardware. Another adult in our group went to test the socket and was jolted by it before her hand even made contact with the plug! I complained to the hotel and was informed that every single room in the hotel has an outlet that sticks out like that. A sheer curtain in each room hangs VERY, VERY close to this safety /fire hazard, and the general manager did not return my voicemails /request for contact as to how /what their plan was to remedy the fire safety issue. I filed a formal complaint with the City of Yakima Fire Department, and will absolutely be following up to make sure NOONE’s child ever faces electric shock injury /electrocution in this hotel because of this issue. NOTOKAY!(This photo was taken in room #221 on Saturday, May 30th, 2015 at approximately 9:30 a.m.)

the customer service at the fairfield inn is really poor… even for a fairfield inn. i had called to book a room as part of a wedding block. i was told from the bride that my reservation wasn’t confirmed. i had to call back multiple times because the non-managers i spoke to couldn’t help me out. do you really need to find a manager for this? i was a little concerned since there was an end date to the discounted wedding rate and because i have my credit card info and my reservation was no where to be found. i finally got in touch with the manager who 1. never apologized and 2. never acknowledged that it’s not cool that i gave someone my credit card number to someone and lord knows what they did that that info.

I really do prefer Marriott over other brands, but the staff here are not very polite. They act like they work in the Four Seasons and speak to guests as if we are their gardeners. Really, if you were as important and exceptional as you think you are, why do you not work for your sister company the Ritz? Oh, I know why, you would be fired for that attitude!!! I also do not appreciate the fact that breakfast is service on Styrofoam. How can they be so environmentally irresponsible when today’s consumer cares about these sort of things?

I’m a Marriott loyalist and choose Marriott whenever possible. However, not super impressed with this one. For one, Styrofoam plates for breakfast, um, I realize I’m from CA but most people know Styrofoam is the worst for our environment. Had trouble with the Wi-Fi for 4 out of 5 days. I’m pretty sure I requested non-smoking but this room smells like someone smoked and they covered it up. The ice scraper they gave me is worse than using my credit card. The TV has like 6 channels and the audio goes in and out. Good things: Breakfast is great. Updated lobby is inviting and beautiful. Staff is friendly and supportive. I slept well until it was trash day. Stay again? Me thinks next time I will stay at the Hilton Gardens downtown Yakima

We travel constantly in our company and choose to be Marriott members throughout the United States. I have probably stayed at the Fairfield Inn Marriott Yakima, at least 15 times in the past 3 months. Their service friendliness and willingness to go the extra mile far surpasses any other hotel in its class in the city. When we checked in early this morning they had a situation here at the hotel where a water pipe had burst. I know for a fact that the entire staff worked very hard all day trying to restore water to the hotel. While there is still no water at the hotel after all day I am more impressed with the mannerisms of the hotel staff in the front desk, namely Mercedes, and how they stand and deal with irate customers. The rating I give this hotel is 5 stars without question after numerous stays over very many months. The rating I give the irate customers who have no understanding when you’re standing there watching them feverishly work without stopping all day to restore water, I give those irate customers a minus 5 rating. It’s one thing when someone is not concerned about the situation at hand, it’s a totally different story when everybody from the top of the hotel chain to the bottom of the maintenance staff is on site working round the clock. Just wanted to say thank you to the staff, knowing how hard it is and how much you put up with all day trying to resolve this problem. How you handle a stressful situation says more about who you are, when your doing everything you can to get it right.

This is my first stay at this hotel. I travel a lot for work and I’m always checking out new places to stay. I was a little surprised at where this hotel is located. Surrounded by what looks like low income housing. I’m fine with it except as a woman traveling alone I try to pick better hotel locations. The hotel looked nice when I pulled up but my check in was less than satisfactory. I wasn’t given anything to initial or sign, not told how much was put onto my card and when I asked about the room number I was told«it’s written on the inside of your key envelope». I booked the room online and chose the«pay later» option because I wasn’t positive I was going to make it out for work this weekend. I was tired from driving so waited until I got to my room to check my account. She charged an extra 25 dollars! I was not made aware of the extra fee which is upsetting. I am used to a 5 or 10 dollar amenity fee and. I guess 25 would be ok but I wasn’t asked or told about it. I work in the customer service field and have a low tolerance for a poor customer experience. Especially in the hospitality business. I travel here every 6 – 8 weeks and I will not be staying here again.

I stay at a lot of Marriotts, including this one, and just wanted to give a shout out to the staff here. The rooms are nice and the amenities are nice as well. The breakfast is better than the usual Fairfield. But the standout this weekend was maintenance man Chris. He saw me putting a tarp over our utility trailer and invited me to store it instead in the hotel’s locked shed. He even wrestled the trailer off the hitch and guided it in to the shed himself! Now that’s service. Thanks! Happy Labor Day, and see you again in a couple of weeks.

Rooms are great. Trash cans in lobby over flowing. Carpets dirty. Asked for an extra pull out bed had to go to the front desk and remind her after 45 min. She didn’t even remember and said she would try and get to it in 15 minutes. She was talking to her boyfriend when I checked in and still was when I went back.

I am somewhat mixed at this hotel. The rooms are nice. It has been recently updated. The room was clean. The elevator was dirty my entire stay. Check in was slow as there was no one behind the desk. There was line, I finally walked up and there was a note that staff was doing something. I called and It rang in the breakfast area where they were cruizing the internet. Breakfast OK. Would stay there again. Just my oppinion.

Nice hotel. Free breakfast. Small pool not accommodating to a lot of guest enough for 8 kids? Pet fee $ 25. Friendly staff and a lot of amenities! Nice room accommodations. Minor tub plugged and ice dispenser was not working on the 3rd floor. Overall good experience. Would consider for future stays.

My first stay at a Fairfield and hopefully not my last– the best free breakfast ever and it appears they take pets! The room was comfy and a large bath– the kids across the hall were awful their parents let the run up and down the stairwell from 930PM for over an hour… so the sleeep was interupted. The pool is small small small and like a kiddie pool but salt water so I enjoyed that– walking around the area was good. I would recommend this place for the great price I got for government rate. Front desk Annie waas great and got me a room on a busy busy weekend when I had no reservation… VERY helpful thanks!!! Beds comfy and pillows… great roll a way bed–

Every time I’ve been at the Fairfield Inn for work presentations or meetings, I always have their breakfast and it’s delicious! Lots to choose from and freshly prepared. The staff has always been very friendly as well. Definitely a place I’d send any of my friends or family to stay while visiting.

Go else where. Slow confused check in process after having to wait almost 10 minutes for someone to arrive. And low to the floor uncomfortable beds. This location is going downhill quick.
