Fit Stop 24

This is a great gym! The staff is friendly and helpful, other members are welcoming, and it has everything I need including childcare! Definitely recommend it.

Pros: The girl that is in the child care room is amazing. She is attentive and super sweet. The only good part about this gym.
Cons: Over crowded with equipment; overpriced; unclean; price match promise is a scam.
I got a qoute from Anytime fitness and went in to see about the price match. Anytime was $ 5 less than Fit Stop, not a big deal. The manager said they absolutely do not go lower than the price she gave me. Two things really bugged me: First, it’s $ 5, you are really going to be stingy over $ 5 a month? Second, that is not a price match. But I joined because I needed childcare and it is the only place in Yelm that offers childcare. I felt trapped from the beginning. I went a few times and the experience was not great. There were a few personal trainers that seemed competent, but there were a couple who were quite rude. There are so many pieces of equipment packed into the small area that there is hardly any room to walk. I have seen, at max, maybe 10 people in there at once, so there is really no need for the over crowding equipment. I have gone in on several occassions during ‘business hours’ to find the desk unstaffed, which is not a big deal since it is a 24hr access facility. But it is ridiculous when a business establishes hours of operation and 45 minutes after it is supposed to be staffed, there is still no one there.
If you don’t need childcare, go to Anytime Fitness. Otherwise go into Lacey. The LA Fitness has a better facility, staff, and is less expensive. The extra 20 minutes to get there is worth it.

Wish I could leave 0 stars. Worst staff ever, they tell you they match prices but dont, and they told us child care could be removed at a later date but aren’t honoring it. This place is truly horrible and the crappy part is… If you have kids this is the only place in Yelm.
Better Business Bureau complaint coming. Just gonna pay the contract off and go to Lacey.

Joined this gym a couple of months ago. Admittedly haven’t gone as much as I should. Been trying to do things outside more while the weather permits. However, on the occasions I have gone, the staff is friendly and the place is clean. Lots of equipment, no waiting for machines or weights.
The locker rooms are kinda tight in size and good use more than one shower. The gym is smaller than I am used too but still an ok size.
I joined mainly because I am a yogaholic. I practice daily and thought it would be nice to go to a class close to were I now live. The same person does yoga instruction for all the gyms in the area so Fitstop got my business because all the classes are included in the monthly fee.
Let me say that I have attended yoga classes all over the states with a wide variety of instructors for the past 10 years. This one isn’t the worst and it isn’t the best. My personal preference is for an instructor to arrive at class early and introduce themselves to each new student one on one. I personally don’t care for an instructor that asks the entire class «any injuries or illnesses». I don’t want to know about anyone’s injuries/​illnesses and don’t think anyone wants to hear about mine. Would much rather have that talk one on one.
There were three people at this class that were new to the class (including me) and a couple that were new to yoga. This class was a fast paced vinyasa flow class and I doubt the newbies will return since no instruction was given on pose modifications for beginners. They seemed confused as all the poses were referred to by there proper names and not the laymans terms we are all familiar with and there wasn’t much explaination on how to achieve proper poses.
That said, I will go back. Maybe it was an off day for the instructor or maybe it was an off day for my perception of the class. Or maybe I am just spoiled.

Really love this gym! It is a bit small, but they do a lot with the space! I haven’t used their daycare yet, but will need to some this summer and it’s great to know they have it available! They have a lot of classes to choose from that are included in the membership.
The only negatives I have about this gym are that there could be a few more pieces of cardio equipment. There is only one rolling stair machine (Stairmaster), but I don’t blame that on this gym… not many gym’s seem to carry more than 1 – 2 of them. Also there are NO spin bikes! That honestly is my biggest complaint.
As far as the staff goes, they are great! The girl who is there @ 9am on the mornings I go (mon-​wed-​fri) is very friendly and always has a smile when I walk in. I highly recommend this gym!

great gym if your into actually working out. non pretentious, and friendly staff make getting a good workout easy. plus they have a daycare and good locker space. the bathrooms could be a little cleaner, maybe a daily shower/​bathroom cleaner would help.
