Not only was I pleasantly surprised to find a Phở place in Yelm, it was tasty! The bowls of phở are generously sized, and delicious. I had the beef brisket, and was surprised to get more meat than I’ve ever gotten in Tacoma area phở. Ordered the sample platter with spring rolls, potstickers and egg rolls. My parents and I all left stuffed! We will definitely be back!

They make phở just they way I like! Spring rolls and the peanut sauce was good! I want to try other stuff next time I come in. People there are real nice and friendly. The place is clean and plenty of tables. I usually come by myself when I need a real good phở on a rainy day!

Really good fresh food! The cashier is always super sweet and even though I don’t get in there very often, she remembers me and makes an effort to connect with me about my day. Customer service is the key to my heart!

My two youngest children, 14 year old son and 16 year old daughter and I LOVE Phở! It is so nice to have a good Phở restaurant in Yelm. We are NOT dissapointed in this restaurant. The deep rich broth, which makes the phở, has many levels, and the fresh lean cuts of meat and seafood, and fresh veggies and herbs make this an awesome experience, and a very authentic Vietnamese type experience. We have a few friends who have made this dish for us from specialty stores they shop at and their own gardens, and this restaurant is just as nice. I also asked the wait staff if we should order smaller sized portions or larger, and instead of «making a sale» they told us that the smaller size would most likely more than fill us. I love the quality, honesty, smiles, and unpretentiousness of this place, and we will enjoy it for years to come! Thanks guys!

My go to favorite casual restaurant in Yelm. Staff is always super friendly and accommodating with our kids. Great flavors, reasonable prices. nice open space, but can get a little echo-y in there with the hard floors. I’ve never left hungry & always glad I came.

1st time trying this style and type of food. Everything was very good, but don’t really have any frame of reference to compare them to. Service was fast, helpful and very friendly.

I don’t get how this place has good reviews, I’ve been here 3 times. 1st and 2nd time I was dissappointed, cause I would order pad thai and tell them not to make it spicy, and it always did come out spicy, even the bean sprouts were very bitter. 3rd time was no exception, I had forgotten about it because I had amazing pad thai noodles when I was in Merced, CA… the place has a funky smell, I’m not sure what it is but I dislike it. Their bubble tea is nothing special, just the generic kind, particularly if you like yours syrupy! Really wanted to love their food but this place just ain’t for me.

The place is really clean and spacious. I love the pork banh mi sandwhiches. So delicious. The bubble and thai teas are great too. Came in the other day and unknowingly sat in a corner where they were playing kids shows. I super appreciate that. My son actually let me eat something.

Broth is good fat and flavor. Been eating Phở my whole life and they have great portions. It’s not fancy or anything just good Vietnamese comfort food. Wish they had Bun Bo Hue too. They got Bahn Mi and other plates too if your not in the mood for Phở.

Phở, with tofu. Other meats for the dish cost a couple dollars extra, and are served in a side dish. I ordered phở with tripe — thought it was tasty! The service was alright. The space inside is interesting. It’s big and spacious. The set up wasn’t cozy to me. Also I could hear a sound the whole time– I think it was coming from the martial arts class next door. I was sitted in the opposite side of the building too. Just weird.

So tojust before I moved to Washington my friend introduced me to Phở. It was amazing. So I moved here and my friends phở was homemade and authentic. There were no resturants that made it back home. Fast forward to moving to Washington and lots of Phở. This place is my favorite. It is amazing I love it and any time we are even remotely close to Yelm I’m thinking of an excuse to eat there. Their spring rolls are awesome too. I really want to be adventurous and eat other things off their menu but I don’t want to turn down the chance to eat phở. If you’re in the area I don’t think you’ll regret stopping. What are you waiting for? Get in there it’s great.

Friendly, great menu and pretty fast. We’ve had the banh mi, phở, spicy chicken and pork bun. All were tasty! Also had Thai tea bubble tea which was yummy. Highly recommend, probably my favorite restaurant in Yelm.

I have no idea how this place has such great reviews. We just moved here and decided to try it since the hubs and I both love Phở. I am so disappointed that everyone left good reviews and I have almost nothing good to say about the place. The bubble tea is the generic mix stuff you can get anywhere so of course that was good. The spring rolls were bland, potstickers were greasy, and eggrolls were greasy as well. I got the beef phở with tenderloin and tripe and the tenderloin was way overcooked. The broth literally tasted like water. It was so bland. I cook for a living, so I do have some idea what I’m talking about. My husband got the seafood phở and the broth was a little better but that isn’t saying much. Again, I’m disappointed that we spent so much and the food was only mediocre. Better off going to Tacoma or Olympia I think!

My boyfriend and I have been coming here regularly for over 1 year. I am from the Seattle area so I was very skeptical about a phở restaurant in Yelm. To my surprise it is now my favorite place for Banh Mi(Vietnamese sandwiches on french rolls), even over the Vietnamese delis in the International District. Phở Yelm doesn’t beat the banh mi vendors in their street carts in Vietnam though! They omit the traditional pork pâté spread which is just fine. There is some nontraditional spread(aioli/mayo maybe?) on the sandwiches, but it’s delicious. I think it is the same marinated and grilled chicken that is in the chicken vermicelli bowls. The chicken is so flavorful, the veggie strips are crisp, they don’t skimp on the cilantro, and the jalapenos are hit or miss on spice level. I can’t speak for the beef sandwich, but he loves them. We almost always get 4 sandwiches to save for later with our meals. The phở broth is good, you can smell and taste the spices in it. More often than not it is flavorful vs bland. Bland broth occurs when restaurants do not have a good recipe or run out of the broth that has been made over hours and hours and use their broth that has only been simmering for a couple of hours — according to my brother, who used to cook at a Vietnamese place in the Seattle area. I also like that after eating their phở I’m not incredibly thirsty and trying down a gallon of water, because there is no MSG in their food.(I’m not against MSG either though). If we order phở it’s usually the chicken and/or the veggie/tofu. The chicken is the standard boiled and sliced breast, thigh, and leg meat. The vegetable phở has the fried tofu, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, onion, and sometimes zucchini I think. Staff is nice. It’s our favorite to eat in Yelm, second to the kitchen at home of course!

I’m sure many would come in here for the phở, but if you haven’t yet give their Vietnamese sandwiches a try!!! The pork sandwich is amazing and cheap! Their sampler platter also provides a great combo of choices and they’re all fresh and tasty. The staff is also very nice and they have quick service so if you’re looking for a place to grab a quick bite in Yelm this is a great choice.

This is a newer phở restaurant in Yelm. I figured I’d stop in since I’ve been to the few that we have in Lacey. I went in at around 5:45/6pm. The traffic going in the other direction was atrocious but I was heading back to Lacey and it was smooth sailing, but I stopped anyway. It wasn’t busy at all. I think the phở will take a little bit to catch on in Yelm. There was the hostess, a smaller older lady(who appeared to be the cashier’s mother) that seated me by the fan as they don’t have air conditioning I believe. It’s funny because the cashier/bubble tea lady asked me to pick my seat. I then sat down and then the hostess told me to sit by the fan as it was hot. I’m not really a stickler for hot vs cold so I would have say anywhere, but I just found it funny. I ordered a strawberry bubble tea with mixed jelly and a #14 Tofu phở with rice noodles and chicken broth. The main difference between the phở is the beef or chicken broth and then rice or egg noodles so there are a lot of options. The menu(not the one in the photos) has pictures of every item so you know what it looks like possibly before it comes out. I think that’s a nice touch. The menu is large and the photos are big so you can see everything and not have to squint. The bubble tea, I thought, was amazing. Perfectly blended and thick. It did not melt quick which I don’t like in other places that make bubble tea. So that was great that it stayed thick. Then the phở was brought by the chef, an older gentleman who appeared to be the cashier’s father. It was super hot! Super boiling hot which is excellent. I will say that after I added the normal accouterments(Thai basil, hoisin, sriracha, soy sauce, bean sprouts, lime juice), the broth tasted a lot better. I think I will go with beef broth next time, because the chicken broth was… well…different. Not bad different, but unlike I’ve tasted phở in the past. The phở was very good though. I kind of missed the baby bok choy, but they added new vegetables that I’ve never had in phở like celery and red peppers. Overall, the service was nice and very speedy. I may stop by in the future but I’m kind of loyal to Phở Vy in Lacey right now, so we’ll see. I’ve changed regular phở places before … sorry Phở Mania :(
