Went there got cold bread and cracked beer glass, talk General mgr and he was to take care of us. Bought us round of beverages, Than dinner came out was smaller than last time. Hostess didn’t seem to care accept to try and protect themselves. Could not enjoy meal after cracked glass. Would not recommend this restaurant

Long wait for a waitress Sitting in the Bar Area. Came late, so the place was slow. No excuse . No refills on the water. Had to watch the Bartender watching TV and picking her teeth with her nails not once not twice throughout the entire meal. Order the Filet Mignon it was perfect and cut heavy.

Both the food and the service were absolutely terrible. We waited between 10 and 15 min to be greeted by a waitress. The food came out prior to the appetizer. The appetizer came out after we finished the rest of the meal. Which was pretty much inedible. Both salads were wilted and gross. The chicken soup came out cold, the minestrone was extremely salty. Even the cake was terrible and tasted old. The waitress never checked in after the meal, we had to call her over. We told her about the meal, she didn’t even let us finish speaking. She walked away for 10 min. Twice to speak to a manager. We didn’t want anything comped and would have gladly paid for the meal, if the waitress actually stuck around to listen to us. On a good note the coffee was good, the bread was fantastic and the music/band was wonderful.

I wish I looked up the reviews before coming here. We saw the ad for the pre fixe menu downstairs and came up to eat. We stood by the entrance like idiots because there was no one to greet us. We arrived at 6pm and were told they stopped the pre fixe menu at 5pm. Who does that? Our server came and did not say hello she just said«What are you having?» We said we needed a minute and she left without even taking our drink order. She came back 15 minute later and did not say anything just took out her pad and stared at us. We both ordered chicken parmagiana and she replied«So just water right?» Boy she did not want to serve us. We should have left right then and there. After a long wait our food arrived and it was gross. The batter on the chicken parmagiana was soggy, there was barely any cheese on it, the marinara sauce had no taste and was lumpy, and there was a bone in the chicken. The menu does warn you about the bone at least but I never saw anywhere do that. When an Italian restaurant cannot cook chicken parmagiana, that really screams to run and never look back. We finished and our server was nowhere to be found. We waited another 15 minutes for someone else to take our plates and we had to ask him to get our server. By the way, the restaurant only had 2 other tables so no excuse for her to not remember about us. Another table arrived while we were waiting for the check and our server really insulted us. She welcomed the new table in a polite tone and took their drink order. She walked by us and said she would be with us. She brought the table their drinks then asked if they wanted anything else and then got them water. After all of that, she returned to our empty table and asked if we finished eating. Are you serious? Our plates are gone! We finished eating! She dropped off our check and went to the other table to take their order and immediately went the other way to avoid picking up our check. We waited another 15 minutes before deciding to pay cash. We paid the exact amount. This was the first time we left a place without tipping. She wrote us off from the start so might as well give her what she wanted which was nothing. This place has horrible food and horrible service.

I really wish I had read the reviews before dining here. I ordered shrimp scampi with linguini and I feel like I put half the shaker of salt on it because it did not have any flavor. The shrimp were decent in size but there weren’t very many. Definitely not worth the price. It seemed to just be drenched in olive oil. I could hardly taste the garlic or any other seasonings. The only reason I have them three stars is because they have peroni but that’s not enough to make me come back.

I can’t imagine how a restaurant would serve preserved garlic from a jar. All the food is direct from Sysco. I uploaded a pic of the broccoli side that was supposed to be sauteed in garlic and oil. They boiled it and spooned on garlic from a jar. Most of the people were paying with vouchers so I’d presume they’re keeping their food cost at zero but they’re also keeping me from ever going back. Ouch.

I came here a couple of times after going to the casino since they provided vouchers to eat there and the food was okay, could’ve been better. It took me a couple of tries before I found something I actually liked. It’s a expensive though so it’s not worth it if you’re planning to go without a voucher. There are other places at Empire City to try out! The only thing I found pretty good there was the chicken Francese, so if you’re gonna go, give it a try! Everything else is mediocre.

Ok, here goes and it ain’t pretty. I have been to Nanno’s many times. The casino provides vouchers to the restaurant to frequent gamblers — I have had many of these vouchers ranging from $ 35-$ 75. It is why I go to the restaurant. I have found the quality of the food to range from mediocre to OK. I started sitting at the bar rather than a table because getting a menu, your entre, your bill is painfully slow. The wait staff is usually gathered in one or two group chatting while customers wait. At the bar, it is immediate. Of all the times that I have been there, I have never made one complaint until last night. I ordered a strip steak medium rare. It came out medium well. I showed it to the server who immediately apologized but it is not her job to determine food quality. I sent it back and did not have time to wait for another one to be grilled. A manager, or someone higher up came over. Instead of having any interest in what I had to say, his sole concern was convincing me that it was medium rare — this for a steak that had virtually no pink in it at all. He told me several times to cut it in the middle to which I responded that I should not get a steak of which only one third was prepared the way it was ordered. I finally gave in and cut it in the middle — again much closer to medium well than medium rare. Given the condescending attitude of «Nope, this is the way medium rare is» and you are wrong, I got pretty hot under the collar. At no point, however, did I raise my voice, make threats or swear. I told the«manager» that my glass of wine should have been comped because of my dissatisfaction. He walked away from me mumbling something which I could not make out. As I was leaving, he walked by me and I told him that his attitude was inappropriate and again told him that my single glass of wine should have been comped. At this point he gleefully told me that my steak was«perfect medium rare» — which he never said when he saw it. I asked to speak to someone higher up. I was told that his name was Steve White and that he was not in. On the way out, I again asked for the higher up name and was given a card with Steve’s name and number. I called the next day and Steve was fully prepared for the«gotcha» moment. He told me that he was sitting behind me at a table when I was at the bar and that the manager perfectly handled the situation. He said he had a picture of the steak served to me and emailed it to me. That steak was a slightly overcooked medium rare but would not have received any complaints from me. It was also not the steak I was served. His attitude was the same as the managers, basically, «we are right, you are wrong.» Steve witnessed the entire situation including me asking to speak to a higher up and could not be bothered to get out of his booth and intervene — maybe he was in the middle of his dinner or maybe he is lazy or maybe customers are not worth his effort — I do not know why he failed to do his job. I do not know the percentages, but I believe that almost all of Nanno’s business comes from the vouchers — 80%?, 90%? or even more? It is clear that customers or food quality is not of importance. If they relied on paying customers, they would be out of business. It’s voucher business, baby. Because of the vouchers people will keep coming and Empire will continue to pay them and Nanno’s will continue to ignore what they have to say — there’s always more coming in for their«free» voucher dinner. They do not know food or customer service, nor, in my experience do they care. If you want to eat at Empire Casino, go to Pinch’s. It is a pretty darn good restaurant and they actually care about their customers.

Do not go here! The food is expensive. The pasta in the fettucine Alfredo was undercooked and stuck together. The cheese ravioli was also hard to eat and tasteless. The only good thing was the service. The hostess and the waiters were polite and attentive.

Had the chicken parm and it didn’t have a good taste to it. The pasta wasn’t cook long enough also felt really hard. I gave it two stars because the appetizers were really good.

Short sentence: The food was terrible! I came here yesterday(6÷2÷2013) and had the chicken in a white wine sauce. While the portions were big, the sauce was bitter and it was clear that the food was microwaved or reheated in some fashion. Not fresh at all. Totally not worth the $ 18.95. Also the wait staff was unprofessional(several of them were watching X-men in at the bar). NEVERAGAIN. Save your money and taste buds and head to the food court

The only option at Empire City Casino in my opinion, as the other selections were not happening at all. Truthfully, we expected this to be crappy, but we were surprised with how good the food was. We had linguine with white clam sauce, which was loaded with clams and garlic. Very flavorful and steaming with the aroma of white wine. Very nice. The manicotti was super good, with a crêpe style shell unlike the thicker pasta tubes, creamy filling, and fresh tasting marinara sauce rounding out the dish. We also grabbed some sauteed green beans, and an order of broccoli rabe. Nothing frozen here, just fresh veggies cooked just right. More garlic, wine, olive oil, and ample seasoning, these were a great accompaniment. Service was slow and haphazard, but I believe she was new and a bit in the weeds, or so to speak. Short staffed and in the middle of lunch, the manager was helping out all over the place. Not withstanding the service, this is the go to place if you are spending some time, and money, at Empire City Casino.

Stay away. It’s that simple. This is the worst Italian restaurant I have ever eaten at in my entire life. The other negative reviews here are not exaggerating. I had the Pappardelle Bolognese. Pasta was tasteless and like leather. The sauce was similarly tasteless and cold. If there was any meat in the sauce, it was minced so tiny as to be invisible. I did not finish the dish. My wife had the Perciatelli Filetto di Pomodoro. Could not find any prosciutto and the sauce tasted like tomatoes right out of a can. Daughter ordered Nonno’s Chopped Antipasto Salad. It was nothing but a bowl of chopped iceberg lettuce with a few peppers sprinkled on top. Again, there was maybe one slice of pepperoni, half a slice of watered ham and a slice of american cheese minced into tiny bits at the most. Not even present. And these items are not cheap. $ 16.95. As other reviewers have said, the bread was good. So I advise to stop with the bread.

Not the best Italian food I’ve ever had, but not the worst either. I went with my Mom for dinner before we hit the casino and dance floor. I had the shrimp scampi and she had the shrimp parmigiana. Hey, we like our seafood. Anyway, my scampi was tasty and the portion size was satisfying. Unfortunately, my Mom’s dish was overcooked to the point that we questioned if it was chicken instead of shrimp. The waiter confirmed that it was indeed shrimp, and my Mom(being the greedy gu… I mean trooper that she is) finished her meal. After two or three bites I guess it started to taste more like shrimp. ;-) We also had the caesar salad to start which was pretty good(but very rarely have I had a bad caesar). We also ordered an inexpensive yet surprisingly good bottle of chardonnay to complete the meal. So overall, Nonno’s gets a thumbs up. The service was good — our waiter gave us just the right amount of attention. In a nutshell, it’s an inexpensive, decent Italian restaurant that is very convenient for pre-casino dining… so I will definitely give it another try.

The service was excellent, our waiter(Enrique?) very nice, friendly — handled our large party perfectly. It would have been great if the food were half as good as the staff — unfortunately it wasn’t. I can’t remember having a worse chicken francaise, linguini overcooked and perhaps even microwaved to heat up. Caesar’s salad not all that good either, nor the ravioli. The desserts were very good though. Very disappointing — mind boggling that we needed to make a reservation for the place and pretty pricey for what you got. The dishes are pretty basic — not that hard to make really — should be able to offer better quality for the price and the area. Would I go there again? nope. Slice of neighborhood pizza, especially this one, would be far better.

I tried the Pepper and Egg Sandwich and it was fantastic. The bread they serve with balsamic & olive oil was also great. The place does need a makeover but keep that sandwich on the menu! The only other criticism I have is that I had to ask to refill my iced tea. Other than that, good spot!

This restaurant is located inside the Empire Casino. We decided to give it a try since we had sixty dollars worth of food vouchers to use. We had the clams oreganata for an app. They stuffing had a strange smoky taste that I did not really like. I had the chicken scarpariello, which is sausage, boneless chicken and potato slices. What ever sauce they used was overwhelming, it had a lemony flavor to it and I did not find it to be that good. The dish was 18.95 and while it was a large portion, was not that good and didn’t come with pasta. I didn’t really expect much out of this restaurant because I’ve found that most of the food options at Empire are not very good. The meal was free so I guess I can’t complain too much.

A solid choice for Italian food before getting your play on in the casino. Chicken Scarpariello was really good. The Chicken Francese was a little too buttery, but not bad. Portions are huge and you will likely take some home — bonus lunch! Antipasto for two and garlic bread were okay, but overpriced at $ 13.95 and $ 4.95, respectively. Though we stuck with non-alcoholic beverages, it was nice to see a large selection of wines by the bottle for $ 25. Comfortable seats and checkered tablecloths make for a pleasant dining experience.(This restaurant replaces an ultra-expensive steakhouse that I never visited. But this is more my taste for an evening of gaming anyway.) When races are on, I would eat trackside every time(for sentimental reasons, food is not as good there). But if they are not, I would look forward to eating here again.
