Just for the record, the doctors at this place are great: friendly, profession, quick, answer all your questions! The store part of this location blows… see the doctors here, take your prescription else where!!! Never again

First time to go to pearl vision and my experience and my recommendations are as follow:
–Doctor is very professional. If you have insurance and wear glasses, you should try it. But if you wear contacts, stay away. They will charge you extra which I never heard before. Something they called contact fitting.
–They have average selections on the glasses and lens. Price is ok if you have insurance. If not, they are not cheap.
–if you are first timer or try to learn how to use the contact lens, stay away. They will charge you another extra for learning how to use the contact lens which again I never heard of.
We will never go back.

These people are a rip off!!! I went in for a buy one get one free which of course every pair was crappy, ended up getting a pair and they tried to charge me $ 700 for a single pair of glasses and when I said I was walking out they got it down to $ 300! How the hell does that happen?! Why weren’t they $ 300 in the first place?!
Anyway I got the glasses should have listened to my gut and left but when I went to pick up my very expensive name brand glasses they’re in some crappy case! I asked the guy about it and he says oh well it just takes too long to order the case, why don’t you have the right cases for the glasses, I almost feel like they could be counterfeit if that’s the case! He was so rude the overall experience was horrible I will never return there!

I didn’t like the service here and the staff made me feel very uncomfortable. The woman who assisted me was pushy and rude.
I called in to make sure my insurance would cover the cost of my glasses before I came in. When I had picked out my frames, I was told an entirely different story. I was not offered any of the deals they advertised (Buy one get one free or 30% off a pair).
I checked online and called later to see if I could get a price adjustment. First, I asked if my brand would be covered under the 30% off deal and I was told YES, this brand is covered. I then said that I needed a price adjustment because I was billed incorrectly. Then, the associate on the phone said she had to speak with her manager and was told that «designer frames aren’t covered under this promotion.» This is completely false and they are trying to make a quick buck. Even the small print says otherwise.
I will be notifying the Pearle Vision headquarters about the poor customer service and lack of attention to detail at the Yonkers location. These people are scammers. Do not give them your business. Over $ 700 for a single pair of glasses.
Edit: I was also assisted by the «older white woman with frizzy black hair» as another Unilocaler mentioned. She’s awful.

I’ve been coming to Pearle Vision for a few years now. I found that they have a much bigger selection of designer frames than Lenscrafters.
I was lucky to have been helped by Simone the last 2 times I’ve been there. She is very patient and knowledgeable sales associate and will graciously go through many pairs of glasses frames with you until the right pair are found. Simone is a real asset to the company because there are other employees there that aren’t so friendly or helpful.
My most recent eye exam went very well also. Dr. Klein examined me and being in the health care field myself, I found her to be informative and thorough, answering my questions and speaking to my concerns.
I took one star off only because of the full retail prices on the frames and lenses. Hopefully you have good insurance to subsidize these costs.

I have been coming to Pearl Vision on Central for a long time as well as my daughter and am very happy with the customer service, appointments and Dr. Marano. I disagree with the poster about them only wanting to make money. I have found many times where they have tried to find me a good price or told me that I didn’t need to spend the money on «such and such.»
They also do their best to try and find out if your medical will cover glasses even though I’ve told them «no» they always take the time to check.

The workers here do not care about their customers, they just care about making money. I have been here several times and never felt comfortable, because the optometrists make it extremely clear that they are not there to make your life easier. I have never had a pleasant experience here.

I came here a couple a weeks ago with my family to look for a glasses. To my suprise they had a big selection of glasses to choose from. It’s nice and spacious inside. Too bad they only had two people on the salesfloor to help people when I came. However, they were about to close in less than two hours so that may have been the reason. The store is split off — women’s glasses on one side and men’s glasses on the other side. In the front there is a circular sitting area to sit, where you can view the glasses from affar. There is another sitting area next to here. In the back they check your eyes to see i you need glasses. Overall it is a good store to visit if you need glasses.
