Paddock Restaurant

I expected more from a very high rated restaurant. I came with coworkers after and I ordered the meatball slider with an orange crush. The meatball slider and my french fries were okay. It was very tasty but I felt that the whole meal could have been warmer. The orange crush could have also has a bit more alcohol as well for an 8 dollar drink. One positive thing is that staff was very attentive to our needs.

Ate here for dinner. Huge menu and good beer selection. Extremely friendly staff. Enjoyed the trifecta. Will return.

Seafood was good, but a very small portion. Onion rings (8 dollars) were horrible, no seasoning. Tasted like they were just dipped in flour. Ate 2 onion rings and sent it back, no offer for a refund. Way over priced on everything. 40 dollar bill for a crab cake and 3 scallops, and bland tasteless onion rings.

Some of the best crab cakes I’ve ever had. My second time here and great bar staff and atmosphere. Nice find in this town. That’s why I’m back again

We had a really terrific eating experience, although the dining experience wasn’t exactly what we were looking for. The food (Giant stuffed shrimp, bacon wrapped scallops) was excellent, our server was attentive, and the restaurant itself was very nice. However, I visited the restaurant’s Facebook page prior to going and asked if it would be an appropriate place for our children to dine with us. Although I was assured it was, there were no other kids there when we went, and it seemed a little upscale for them. Not that this is necessarily a problem or a negative, just something to be aware of! Next time we go it’ll be for a Mom and Dad only date night

Not being from York I was trying out restaurants that were rated pretty high by fellow helpers. My girlfriend and I decided to try this place out for the first time especially after hearing how it was renovated not that long ago. After being seated we noticed that the plants they have by the door were dead and the flowers on each table were dead as well. That should of alerted us to how bad the food was going to be. The house dressing was no more than a thick blob of who knows what that had nothing but an abundance of pepper in it. My salad dressing apparently is a combination of raspberry vinaigrette mixed with balsamic vinaigrette. Who the hell does that? Both of us ordered the chicken Parmesan and my chicken was easily more than a pound since it was too big for the plate. The pasta (penne) was so over cooked and was very mushy. Almost felt like they had precooked it a few days prior. The marinara sauce was very acidic and tasted nothing like a traditional sauce would be. We could only eat a small amount of our main dish because of it. Sever never apologized after we told him about it and they reluctantly took off half the meal because in their mind we ate half of it. Really? Never going back again and will tell others to stay away.

Just went here with my boyfriend for our three year anniversary, I’m so glad we chose this place! Our meal was phenomenal! We got the crab dip in a pretzel bowl for starters. Sooo good! We also both ordered the alfredo with chicken. I’ve never had better alfredo. I wanted to lick the plate clean! The wait staff was very attentive, and worked as a team which I love to see. I’ll definitely be back!

The fish sandwich was nothing to write home about. it was cooked properly. Just no bells and whistles. Waitress was nice. Would be nice if they had a bigger waiting area. I would go back

A great place to go for seafood, you will not be disappointed. The place is nice inside and has a nice patio for warmer weather.

First visit after the renovation. The menu is extensive and has some delicious sounding dishes. We ordered a selection of appetizers. The food was delicious and the service was good. The Thai Chili Wings are amazing!!!

My husband and I love this place! I recently took my mother here for lunch. I immediately encouraged the stuffed portobello as an app. being from Maryland, this is the best crab cake I have found in York. My mother was very impressed with the food and atmosphere. The menu is full of choices for everyone. The prices are comparable to the food. The atmosphere is classy, airy & comfortable. I recommend the patio seating at sunset, it’s very enjoyable when not too hot and sunny. We will keep going back to the Paddock. It is everything I enjoy about going out to eat.

What a surprise!!! Visited for the first time today. The previous pictures does this resturant no justice! The décor has been total revamped to a modern fresh atmosphere. Gone are the fisherman’s plates replaced by modern wear. The fair is seafood with steaks pan seared. The resturant was packed. Like a well kept secret, with the patrons dressed casual sheek. Service was outstanding. Friendly and attentive. But the star was the food! The seafood was outstanding fresh and tasty. I’m from Maryland and I’ve been very hard on the subpar seafood a lot of pa resturants pass off as authentic Maryland seafood… but this restaurant exceeds expectations. It is not a gastric but rather a culinary experience! Well welcome and refreshing change.

I’ve been here twice so far. Both times, the food we ordered has been amazing. My only complaint is that both times (about a month apart) there have been NO vegetable options as side items. No, Paddock, Corn Casserole is NOT a VEGETABLE. Yes, they told me that twice.
I would LOVE to see steamed broccoli or asparagus as a staple side item, but unfortunately, there are only starches as sides… potatoes and corn. So both times I ordered the main dish that included vegetables and completely passed on side items. In a way, I’m paying more for a dish than what I’m getting. But the food is delicious and the service has been great.

We ended up here because my MIL was raving about the onion rings… She was right — they were good — not greasy. We had salads also. Big and very fresh. Great service. Nice atmosphere — very updated — we will be back.

My wife and I enjoyed a Sunday evening dinner at the Paddock recently and again were not disappointed. We mostly go to the Paddock for lunch but do occasionally eat dinner there and it is always spot on.
We both enjoyed specials, mine was a New Orleans Gumbo style pasta entrée and it was fantastic! The only down side was the portion was so much I felt like I barely ate ½ of it. Oh well, lunch leftovers for me.
The dinner had a base cream type of sauce with lots of cork screw type of pasta. Within the pasta was grilled chicken and andouille sausage. On top of that was a tomato based sauce with 4 large shrimp. Don’t let the two types of sauce on this meal fool you, it was fantastic. Loaded with flavor. Enjoyed an Edmund Fitzgerald porter with my meal.
The Paddock is definitely on our short list. This is not you typical bar or pub. They churn out some higher end food that is well worth going for.

First time ever here. Came for lunch. Wife had Philly cheesesteak on a pretzel roll and I had the chicken cordon blue sandwich. Sandwiches were great, fries were great. Will definitely come back to try dinner and would definitely come back for lunch also.

Caution! When ordering a salad, the menu offers to add a cup of soup for $ 2.95 or$ 3.95 for a bowl or crock of onion soup. So I ordered a cup of the oyster stew.
When the bill came, the soup was $ 6.95. The explanation was the add on was «only for the soup of the day.» The owner John acknowledged the error but refused to refund the difference. Such a shame that a restauranteur will loose business over his own error. We are not going back.

What this place lacks in a wine list it makes up for in food quality and options. Lots of seafood choices. This place is busy all the time, so you MUST have a reservation or they will turn you away– no waiting around here. Pricey ($ 60/​person), but well worth it.

I simply love this place. I don’t know how, but they have some of the best seafood around. Always cooked to perfection. I have had, and absolutely loved, the chicken Chesapeake pasta, the shrimp and crab pasta, the trifecta, the bread bowl crab dip, and the scallops. To dine here and not order seafood of some sort is cheating yourself. The only thing I didn’t like EVER was a twice baked potato side dish that seemed unusually bland.
The service is always superb. You might want to make reservations on Fridays and Saturdays due to the limited number of tables.
And you can’t go wrong with horse themes ;-) I honestly always avoided this place because I grew up in York and had the impression that it was a dump, but apparently a major change happened in the past few years. Now they even have a nice deck for the summer months! I just love this place. Did I say that yet?
