I initially went to Pita Pit when it opened a few years ago, and was not too impressed. I got a Chicken Caesar wrap that was pretty basic, almost Sheetz level in quality. However, I just went today and my experience was drastically different. This time around, I got the Chicken Souvlaki wrap combo, which comes with a fountain drink and chips, for approx. $ 9. Much to my surprise, after paying, I heard the sound of sizzling chicken in the background. They were grilling the chicken fresh and made to order. In the meantime, I added fresh spinach, garlic hummus, tzatziki, cucumbers, red onions, banana peppers, black olives, tomatoes, and green peppers to my whole wheat pita later accompanied by my chicken fresh off the grill. Both the freshness and the taste were equally satisfying, and the variety of meats, flavors, and produce was impressive for such a guilt-free meal. It is a shame that the restaurant is so empty because this creates a feeling that the food isn’t good, which is false. Being that its location is down the strip from Chipotle, I would imagine that attracting foot traffic is an uphill battle. However, if you’re looking for a healthy lunch option or a lighter fare dinner, this is a pretty solid choice with fresh ingredients and made to order grilling. TL;DR: Pita PIt is the Subway of pitas with a fresher, more diverse, and pleasantly surprising spin on sandwiches. Meat is grilled fresh and ingredients are varied and delicious.

I really like this place and under normal situations. I would recommend it but last week I went to there store and there card reader is not up to date so it would not take my new card with the chip in it. After leaving I called my bank to make sure that the problem was in deed on the Pita Pit end and they agreed with me that it was not an issue with the cards and other places where able to process payments. When I contacted the company they blamed it on my card.

Ehh nothing too exciting here. In fact when I ordered my food the person kept saying«are you sure you don’t want any sauces? It’s gonna be really dry.» I’m sure I don’t want to be questioned on what I like.

Staff is always friendly, the food is always fresh, there’s a great array of toppings, prices are reasonable, and the menu accommodates a wide variety of dietary needs and preferences. You really can’t go wrong here, especially considering the fact that York is dominated by fast food places with rude staff and poor quality food. If you’re looking for a decent fast food place that doesn’t serve greasy food, this is it.

Never been to a Pita Pit before, but thought I’d give it a try since they had a coupon promotion going on(small pita + bag of chips + soda for $ 6.99 or something like that). I went with a traditional gyros pita, which turned out fine. The meat portion was very small, but I did like that I could add hummus and a bunch of other fresh ingredients. Overall, turned out to be a good sandwich. No complaints, but nothing to brag about, either. The staff members were friendly, but not terribly helpful(being a first-timer, I was not sure how it worked, and they were not volunteering to explain it). But got through it, and had my sandwich, chips & soda. From a value standpoint, I’m just not sure it’s worthwhile. Their normal pricing looks like I’ll be spending closer to $ 8 or so for lunch, which is more than I normally like to spend on lunch. I try to be more in the $ 5-$ 6 range, and I’m just not sure that the Pita Pit offers anything better than other lunch options(i.e. Subway) that would justify the add’l cost. If something is really good, or just so unique, I’m willing to spend the extra $‘s because it’s worth it. But nothing about Pita Pit jumps out at me as «so good that I gotta go back». I’ll probably give it one more shot to try something else(maybe the falafel? — someone else mentioned that they have good falafel). But it may end up just being an okay place to get a pita sandwich, but at a pretty high price.

Today was the second time I ate here. I liked it on my first visit but I think I enjoyed my meal because of who prepared it. Today’s meal was subpar. It must have been the first day for the guy behind the counter. Food took too long to prepare and when I got it, it looked a hot mess. I like the concept of Pita Pit but I find that it’s the staff that makes a good concept a great reality.

The food and service are good, but sometimes it just takes awhile to get your food. If you’re in a pinch for lunch, a drive thru would be much quicker. Otherwise, good falafel!

So we just ate at the pita pit again tonight and I have to say, I think they’re making their Pitas a lot fuller than they were early on. We also had a really nice experience all around. The guy who took our order was incredibly nice, and while we were eating, one of the employees was wiping tables and asked us if we needed anything. They even said hello to everyone as they walked through the door, which was really pleasant. If you eat here, I would suggest getting the Dagwood with horse radish sauce. It’s da bomb!

Quick, friendly service and I love that they have avocado, alfalfa sprouts and tahini sauce as options. I wish they had delivery so that this could be a lunch option at work. They make it easy to make a healthy selection.

I eat a lot of fast-casual, Mediterranean-influenced food in Philly, so I was excited to see a similar place in York. Unfortunately, after today’s Pita Pit visit, I’ll be looking elsewhere when I’m visiting home and want a healthier, vegetarian lunch option. Pita Pit is set up like a Subway/Chipotle/etc. I ordered the hummus pita, expecting to get a nice glob of hummus — you know, the selling point of this particular wrap — rolled up in my pita with a bunch of nice, crisp veggies. Nope. What I got was a thin piece of bread stuffed with copious amounts of spinach plus trace amounts of tomatoes, red peppers, and whatever other veggies I requested. And the hummus? A thin, measly strip smeared on the edge of the pita before it was rolled up. I couldn’t even taste it when I was eating it, and only every couple bites did I taste something other than pita and spinach. So in the end, I basically paid $ 7 for a thin piece of bread stuffed with spinach. Gahhh.

Clean, fast and good. You get to choose your meat and then your vegetables and then a dressing to top it off with. The chicken is flavorful and the vegetables are crisp and fresh. I liked the laid back atmosphere and the quality of the food. I will be back! Thank you for reading my review. This review is based off of my personal opinion and experience.

Pretty simple… It’s kind of chipotle style. You pick a protein and flavor and then fill your pita with veggies, sauces, hummus etc. It’s filling, but not overwhelming. The chipotle next door is probably taking all their service, but I was pleased. It’s very affordable and fewer calories than a chipotle burrito. There’s lots of options for your pita, there’s specialty smoothies and cookies, but I didn’t try those.

Could eat there every day… a little pricey, but worth every penny
