This Rutter’s always has great service, however it smells so bad in this store! They are in desperate need of installing an industrial exhaust fan above their deep frier. Even if you are in and out quickly, you smell like old rancid cooking oil.

Rutter’s Famous Express Deli is actually the made to order food maker inside the Rutters Farm Stores location, but rather than add a new entry I figured I would just review at this location. The reason for my visit to this Rutter’s was I had recently been to the Rutter’s off of 83 south by the Newberrytown exit when I ran out of gas. I put the gallon of gas into the car and drove a few miles to this station. The place is pretty easy to get to, though the fact it is directly in front of the traffic light can make it challenging to get to when traffic is backed up. Some customers don’t like to pull to the furthest pump or drive up in an odd location base on where their gas tank is located. The small lot here can create kind of a cluster ___when this happens since parking directly in front of the store isn’t that far from the pumps. I was not in a hurry and got fueled easily regardless. I have had an issue with service once or twice here which is why I am giving a ‘just ok’, but usually resolve these. The time I prepaid it became an issue because was not able to dispense fuel — it was charged to the wrong pump. I did not have a receipt from the transaction and the person had to void due to error. It would generally not be an issue, but I was in a hurry on my way to work. I think the store is well stocked and convenience stores are made to be alike intentionally, so it is hard to judge except for areas of selection, service and gas prices IMO. They usually have about 3 – 6 cents per gallon higher here than at the Lewisberry location but this time it was 5 cents cheaper than the Newberrytown location — Go figure. I would avoid this location personally, but it does the trick if you don’t have a choice.
