Excellent breakfast menu with unique chef specials. Excellent wait staff. Always a specialty coffee offering and fresh squeezed orange juice. As the name suggests, seating is limited. More seats outside during warmer weather. Can be noisy inside and feel a bit tight. Still, worth the wait if going without reservations. For ensuring a table without a long wait, reservations are highly recommended, especially on weekends.

A very standoffish/snotty staff may greet you after they give you the stare down. The food is good, but not great. I can’t justify the prices… or service. It’s okay for York. The French toast is decent. Oh and be sure to make reservations and jot down the name of the person you spoke with along with the time. Do this even if they aren’t busy and you enter an empty restaurant. Good God.

Went for brunch, loved it! Great menu choices, they all looked yummy! Gonna have to get back! Our group had a Southwestern Burrito, a Western Omelette, a Black-fin crab omelette, and the Pineapple-upside-down pancake with rum sauce. All of it super delicious! Great coffee too. Very nice ambiance. It’s not a big place, but very nice. A definite recommend!

One of the best places you can eat in York county. I have come here many, many times and always leave happy and full. The baked oatmeal(flavors change daily) is to die for and it always come with a homemade scone that’s equally delicious. If you happen to come in and the oatmeal is featuring baked coconut and blueberries, you struck gold. Definitely try a cup of coffee too… always great flavors but not because of sugary syrups(trust me, my thighs don’t need that).

In York for the weekend, found this place on Unilocal, couldn’t be happier. This is an EXCELLENT restaurant. Lobster bisque was perfect. Sea Bass was perfectly cooked. The staff was very attentive. I give it a 10.

Fabulous, truly. Best calamari I’ve had in a long time. Food was excellent and beautifully prepared. It’s nicely set up inside but it’s small. Will definitely go back and try breakfast!

One of the better breakfasts I can remember having in a long time. Tucked away in a small shopping center in York, Tapinade is the kind of breakfast place that everyone wishes they had nearby. Definitely come hungry — featured menu items are enormous 3-egg omelettes, buttermilk pancakes twice the size of your face(but half the cost of a 20 dollar bill), and larger-than-average cups of interesting coffee roasts, such as the red velvet blend I had during my visit. Come thirsty as well — BYOB! We brought champagne for self-poured mimosas. The dining area is small but tables are spaced well; no need for claustrophobics to worry. Very friendly, warm vibes were impossible to ignore. My impression was that the staff genuinely valued our business, and they made it a point to check in with us frequently without interrupting conversations. The menu didn’t seem to have a weak spot. I would love to come back and experience more of it. Glad I had a chance to stop in.

Open till 10 pm on Friday but wouldn’t serve us at 8:30 pm: REALLY? Our family, parents, daughter and son in law and granddaughter had a rough night visiting a sick relative and looked for a nice local place nearby. Went to the Tapenade Bistro at 8:20 pm on a Friday night because it had good reviews. A standoffish, unhelpful staff claimed that while the sign says they are open until 10 pm, their last seating is at 8:00 pm. Truly un believable that a place would say that with a straight face. We really needed a nice break. Now I will do what I can to let the world know that they are not a nice break kind of place at all

I’m honestly shocked that it gets good reviews. The food was mediocre at best and then service was awful from start to finish. We won’t ever be back.

Still one of the best in the York, Lancaster area. Pumpkin baked oatmeal for breakfast was dense, flavorful and sweet. Other fall pumpkin specials got rave reviews from others in our party. Tapenade staff always a pleasure. Nothing negative to say on any aspect of the experience. Get there or miss a unique pleasurable treat.

This is my go to place whenever I want to take someone to breakfast. Their omelets are really good! I totally recommend them. I’ve tried this place for lunch and have been really pleased as well. But I would say their breakfast takes the cake.

This is our go-to breakfast spot in York! Sure, there aren’t too many — but Tapenade is a gem of a spot regardless. I’m not a huge fan of the lunch menu; it’s primarily sandwiches and salads. We’ve had lunch here once and it was okay. Breakfast, on the other hand, is phenomenal.(Hence the five star rating). Their fruit crêpe is on my short list of «best things I’ve ever eaten» — like top three. Light and airy with perfectly ripe, fresh fuit and yummy vanilla cream filling. Omelets are also very good here.

This is my favorite spot for breakfast and lunch in York. I have eaten here at least 300 times over the past 5 years — no exaggeration — and have never been disappointed. Tapenade is head and shoulders above 99.5% of the restaurants in York County. This is a great place to go for meals for business or pleasure. The food is fresh and creatively prepared and the service is excellent. Even when we couldn’t make it to the restaurant(due to the birth of my daughter and other life events), my husband would make the 50+ minute roundtrip drive to pick up breakfast on Saturdays. Absolutely LOVE the breakfast food here — the Benedicts, omelettes and baked oatmeal are excellent. My absolute favorite is the California Eggs Benedict. I get the hollandaise sauce on the side of the Benedicts and also the Cordon Bleu omelette, which is tasty. The breakfast potatoes are excellent and my kids love the pancakes and French toast, as well as the breakfast meats — ham, bacon and sausage. We also typically share a fruit and yogurt parfait, which is always really good. The soup is always good here. My mom loves the tomato soup. I usually get a seafood soup. The salads are very good(favorites include the Spinach & grilled chicken salad, Chicken alla orange salad, and the California Cobb) and sandwiches never disappoint. Try the Mac-n-cheese side if they have it that day — it’s so good! I usually get the Turkey Florentine & Bacon sandwich and my husband gets the chicken salad sandwich, which has grapes and is served on a delicious soft croissant, and we share/split them. Highly recommend either/both! And definitely also ask if they have the sweet potato casserole side — my husband absolutely drools over it. We’ve had dinner here a handful of times and it was always very good. Most importantly, after becoming a «regular» here, the staff and owner(who are truly wonderful and lovely people) made an effort to get to know our family and when my mom was diagnosed with cancer a few months ago, they always asked about her and even offered to take food to her since I was relocating across the country — not a level of caring that you often experience as a restaurant patron. The staff and owners really do care about their customers and you become part of their extended family. Also wanted to mention that I took 2 group cooking classes here(offered on Sundays from time to time) and they were a fantastic experience, too! Love, love, love Tapenade Bistro!!! I always come here at least once when I come back to visit PA from my new home in southern CA.

Cool brunch spot. Love all their sides and stuffed burritos. Wasn’t a huge fan of the lunch menu. Great ambience and superb service.

This is only our second time eating here in the last year, both for dinner, and though we enjoyed ourselves, the food never quite lived up to its promise either time. Still the atmosphere is nice and the service has always been good. Would like to try it for breakfast sometime, but I think I’ve eaten my last dinner there. I like different takes on classic dishes, But tonight’s «piccata» was chunks of chicken tossed with vegetables in sauce(I was curious if the shrimp«scallopini» was a misprint). Again, not that the food was bad, just feels like Italian food cooked by someone whose never been outside of Pennsylvania.

Queen of the foo-foo brunch spots, my wife loves it; fantastic breakfast brunch options, attentive service, kid friendly. I love the omelettes and crepes and French toast. Can be tight for lunch or dinner without reservations.

Went here for a quick lunch with some coworkers. Loved the cozy ambiance and the food was excellent. I had the Black Russian which was like a steak rueben. It was delicious and everyone else raved about their food as well. Will definitely be back to check out their dinner menu.

First off, I love the little center that the Tapenade Bistro is located — there’s some cool little shops there, and I really liked walking around and checking out the bakery and wine shop right there. We went in for lunch, and it was busy and really cozy inside. The food is good overall, and the atmosphere was nice as well. There was a good variety on the menu, and we had no complaints about the service.

This cute and cozy little place is great for breakfast or lunch. It can get pretty busy at times so I would recommend reservations. They have a great selection of soups, salads and sandwiches for lunch. The service is good, but not excellent. They won’t split checks for larger parties, which can be an issue and is something that I do not particularly like about this place. Overall this is a good place with quality food.
