Love the crab served on a pretzel! Haven’t been in the bar side for drinks yet, but I’m eager to do that!

Not as good as it used to be, a few years ago this was the place for ribs and crab cakes. The crab cakes are still excellent, the ribs are hit and miss and the weekend special are usually good. If your going for the Sunday Prime Rib special, get there early or it will be gone, most appetizers and the soups are made in house and very good. Burgers are good but don’t order well done, it ain’t bad but it use to be better.

I read the reviews of this place before trying it. Actually, many would probably wonder why I did since some of the reviews aren’t giving this place very much credit for what they do. With that said, I will probably be in the minority by stating that my wife and I really enjoyed our visit and our dinner. The place has two separate dining areas. One for smokers and the other for non smokers. We sat in the non smoking section. We were immediately greeted by our server who was very helpful on that she went over their specialties since this was our first visit to this place. We ordered the special soup of the day, Southwestern shrimp and crab. It was flavorful and tasted like MD crab soup with rice and shrimp added to it with a hint of heat. It was awesome. My wife got the crab cake entrée with two sides and I got the rib and steak combo with two sides. The crab cakes were made with lump back crab meat and were very good. The Italian vegetable medley was good and the added bacon made it extra special. The ribs were flavorful and fall off the bone. The side salad was good in that the lettuce was crisp, the onions had crunch and the tomatoes were juicy and firm. The service was great. The server was friendly and attentive. We enjoyed our dinners and will be back to taste done more delicious food. Thanks for reading my review. This review is based off of my personal opinion and experience.

Good burger and beer joint, dont get the seafood or steak! Bar is smoking, could be an issue for some.

I dined here on Father’s Day with family. Upon seating us the hostess informed us that they were out of ribs(which they are«famous» for), shrimp, crab, and chicken wings. While waiting for the rest of our party to arrive the waitress told us that as soon as they got there we would have to place our order due to them shutting down the kitchen and closing the restaurant. The food was mediocre, nothing special, the waitress was attentive and kind. I would expect a restaurant to be better prepared for a holiday and have enough food to serve their full menu.

Waited for an hour to get 2 cheeseburgers. When they finally arrived, both of the rolls were covered with mold on the bottom. Never again.

Went here on a weekday, surprisingly busy, I thought I was in for a good meal, I was very wrong. Service and décor are fine, adult beverages were tasty, but the food was really bad. I actually can’t remember the last time I had such bad food. I ordered their famous broasted chicken, I have had really good boasted chicken before and this was really bad, over cooked, skinless, there is nothing worse than greasy burnt rubbery chicken. My wife ordered a steak, she made the comment that she should have just ordered a charcoal briquette, it might have been better than what she ordered. Bottom-line, probably a nice bar or meeting spot, but avoid the restaurant at all costs!

The waitress was attentive and worked well with my party. My food was decent. I ordered the 8oz. New York Strip Steak. I had to salt and pepper it and add A1. But it was OK. Everyone else in my party enjoyed their meals as well. It was a little warm in the restaurant, but it has been really cold in the area so the heat may have been on to compensate. I would come again to try something different.

If you like chain restaurants you will probably not like this place, it doesn‘t feel mass produced. My best memory of here was years ago — i was eating lunch and an older lady was at a nearby table. When the server brought her food there was a small exchange but noticeable that it caught my attention. The woman forgot her wallet and was embarrassed, she refused the food. The woman quickly left, i felt bad but did nothing to help. The server went back to the kitchen. A few minutes passed and a cook came rushing out with a takeout box. He cleaned the table putting the food in the box and ran back to the kitchen with it. The cook looked like i expected male with longer hair, tattoos and unshaven. A minute or two later the cook is running flat out down the road to catch this woman. We caught her and finally got her to agree to take the food. She hugged him and that was that. Ever since then that seems to be the difference between here and other places. They actually seem to care. The food is decent and prices are fair. The last time i was in the bar it was a bit smokey.

Was this a restaurant or an extended kitchen of a clumsy pickle loving mother? As you can tell from the first sentence it was nothing of the sorts for a professional restaurant. My family and I walked out almost instantly. When walking up to the place the bar looked busy but had a poorly written sign stating no one under 21 permitted after 5. When we walked into the actual restaurant it looked very run-down and had no host. When walking towards the actual seating area there was a sign saying seat yourself. There was only one other family sitting down and they did not look pleased to be there. Before we could reach a table we were overwhelmed with the overly sour smell of vinegar from a pickle jar(reflection on the first sentence). There was no sort of anything reflecting BBQ so we walked out. Never even considering going near it again.

Probably a great bar at night but weak lunch during the day. I had a Caesar salad with grilled chicken… well, that’s what I ordered. It was iceberg lettuce, not romaine and had other ingredients usually not associated with a Caesar salad.

We try to avoid this place but stop in twice a year. I had a cheeseburger sub that was supposed to be well done but only half was. The other half was reddish pink inside and much chewier. They have the world’s smallest subs and the rolls are very hard. There also was something burned in mine. I never figured out what but something tasted like a burned piece of wood. We really didn’t like the busboys standing right there in the dining room staring around at all the customers waiting to pounce on empty dishes to carry away. Is it necessary? They acted like vultures waiting for someone to die. Low life place.

We were in york for a hockey tournament and the woman at the front desk at our hotel recommended the corner stables for a few of us parents for lunch. It was wonderful. Burgers were great and crab cakes were awesome. No filler… just crab. After the game, we brought the whole team and all of the parents back for dinner. Ribs were excellent. Staff was super friendly and very accommodating for a party of 40! Highly recommend this place!

I have been going to corner stables for years and it is one of my favorite places to go for dinner. I love their burgers(many different kinds to choose from)!

Very rude staff. I went here for years until one day an 18 year old came in the door behind me thinking she could be in the bar but just not drink. I had no idea who she was and the waitress screamed and cussed at me saying this girl was with me and to get the F$&@ out… I’m disgusted. The waiter didn’t even let me explain that I didn’t know who it was she just kept screaming at me even when I asked for a manager. It’s not like the doors are locked anybody can walk in. I will never come here again.

One of my favorite bars in York. We usually go here for Wing Wednesday. Excellent wings and loaded fries and very cheap. 10 Boneless wings cost the same as 10 regular wings too(5 bucks). I’ve been here for the seafood deal on Thursdays which was okay. They give you like 10 pieces of shrimp for 6 bucks.

Wow. just… wow D: I won’t waste my time going into too much detail here. But the last time I went I ordered the Crab Cake Sandwich. terrible. Oh cool it comes with a little bag of chips and dollar store utensils, how cute. I figured, I haven’t had one in awhile, and we are pretty close to MD… how bad could it be? Haha, well I can honestly say that until now, I have never had a sandwich completely crumble in my hand like that. Seriously. This thing was totally flavorless. The stale bun was twice the size of the crab cake. And the WHOLE thing just crumbled away. NO, I did NOT have a death grip on it. I was holding it like a normal human and it just imploded. Really strange stuff. Maybe not as strange as the disco western interior, but strange. Also, someone opened the door to the bar area as I was leaving. yeah giant plume of cigarette smoke almost knocked me over. And I used to be a smoker! Mmm yeah, I wont be back. If I ever want ribs I’ll just go to The«real» Corner Stable in Cockeysville. They do not disappoint.

What can I say about this place? This place has been a second home for me the past decade. First off, there are 2 separate sides here. There is a nonsmoking restaurant side and a bar side where smoking is allowed. The bar side has outdoor seating as well for when the weather is nice. For entertainment on the bar side, there are ten televisions of various sizes, a juke box, 2 megatouch machines, and 2 pool tables(free on Thursdays). It is a great bar for watching sports, provided a competent bar tender is working and actually puts sports on. If you know what channel something you want to watch is on, just ask nicely and they’ll typically put it on one of the tv’s. Occasionally they also have bands come in. The good food at reasonable prices, beer specials, and friendly atmosphere keep me coming back. There is a variety of food here although the menu isn’t too overwhelming. There are typically daily bar specials on your usual bar fare. One of my favorites is on Tuesdays they have a full rack of ribs with choice of veggie for under $ 13. Sundays they have half price burgers. There are also various other weekday and weekend special entrees which gives a variety in addition to the menu. Some of my favorites include the prime rib, chef salad(all salads huge), wings, blue bacon burger, pit turkey sandwich, and the ribs. They claim to have the best ribs in York, which could be true, but I am a a huge southern bbq fan which is hard to compete with. The beer selection is reasonable. Smithwicks and Blue Moon are some of the more recent additions to the drafts, although they do have your typical domestics as well. Every month they have a beer of the month special for $ 1.75 a bottle. This usually alternates between miller high life, keystone light, and natural light, although I’ve seen some others there from time to time. They also have a Thursday pitcher special for a few hours but not many other drink specials unless you want one of their monthly mixed drink specials. Regardless, the drink prices are still relatively inexpensive. The patrons are friendly and there are generally alot of regulars you will get to know quickly if you come in more than once. All in all a great place to meet friends for a few drinks and some dinner!

I’ve been going to the Stables for so many years and always hit it up when I’m home. Lately though, it’s just for drinks and apps. The food has gone a bit downhill. The dining room gets loud and crowded. I prefer the bar area or the patio if I’m home during the summer. The cheesey crab dip is a favorite. I also enjoy the steamed bottom crawlers too, clams and crab legs! They have a monthly menu with daily specials which I prefer over regular menu items. One of their signatures is the Diamond steak. I tried my husbands once and really wasn’t a huge fan but I know people really do like it. It is a marinated strip steak that’s grilled, but it’s very thin and kind of chewy. The flavor isn’t that bad though. The beer is cheap and bar tenders are nice. They have decent juke box and a pool table or two in the back. They have bands on the weekends. Not a bad place at all.
