Hit the Cove several times while visiting friends in York and it was a good time! Definitely enjoyed myself while watching the UFC fight Saturday night! Good energy, nice people, and pretty good food. Although everyone could tell I was the new guy in the building, it was still a great time! Say quite a few hot women in there too!

The Cove is a great place that we will be sure to visit on return trips to York. The food and whiskey were wonderful. The French dip sandwich that the other half had was fantastic. My crab cake sandwich was equally as good. Japanese whiskey was really smooth with a great finish. Staff was very helpful and courteous.

I came here on a Friday night with my husband and a friend. The place was packed. Fortunately, the have parking in the front and back of the building. And we were able to find a 4 seat table… yay! Our waiter was friendly enough but he said he had only been there for a few months and it showed. I love that The Cove has an extensive beer and whiskey menu, but our waiter wasn’t able to answer many of our beer questions. I ordered the honey hot wings and a side salad with blue cheese dressing. They both came at the same time, which was a little bit of a bummer for me. I like to get my salad first so I can be finished for the main event. But the salad was delicious and the wings were super good. The Cove has an impressive food and drink menu that will keep me coming back. I would say stick to the bar/restaurant side. They also have a cigar bar side which is great if you like to sit in a room that is extremely smokey. The Cove also has some really good bands play from time to time.

Chesapeake Chicken is outstanding. Great menu, friendly staff, super selection of drinks and beer. The best place in York for a comfortable dinner with upscale food. Love love love The Cove.

Great place to watch a game! Several televisions at the bar, and around the surrounding tables. Staff is friendly and efficient. Fantastic craft beer selection. The best in the area, but unfortunately, overpriced at $ 7. The food was decent and reasonably priced.

Been hearing about this place on 105.7 the X for quite awhile. Lots of interesting choices on the drink menu. The guys tried a few draft beers, lived the selection. Appetizer was good, enough for table of 5. Dinners were all really great. Not one complaint. We will be back.

Looked like a dive bar from the outside. I admit I was a little afraid to walk in as visions of a motorcycle gang hangout images flashed thru my head. However, once inside its a pretty nicely appt sports bar. Had a burger that is a hybrid ½ burger ½ barbecue brisket. interesting but still not sure a day later if I liked it or was just hungry. little unsettling but the salad was very fresh and def not bar std. Overall food was strange crowd even stranger((lady pulled away chairs next to me at the bar to sit on the other side))) guess they don’t see many different kinds of folk here.lol.smh. The quest continues for a great York place to eat!

Great place to eat or just have a few drinks. Place is split in 2. One side is a sports bar and the other side is a great place to hear live music. Food is very good. One of my favorites is the pub steak in mac n cheese. They also offer large fresh wings with plenty of sauce types.

Decent food at overpriced polished turd. Nice atmosphere, lots of TVs, nice beer selection but… overpriced drinks, overpriced food and their daily«specials» are cheapened down versions of what is already on the menu(more fillers and lettuce, less of what you actually are paying for). Stop in for the ambiance, I guess…

I must have driven by this place hundreds of times and not thought much about it. Looks can be deceiving. We were able to sit at the table of our choice, the service was prompt and the food was reasonably priced and delicious. I usually order my steak medium well and nobody gets it right. They got it right. Overall it is more for the sports crowd, but I won’t hold my personal tastes against them. We were able to sit outside so we weren’t confronted by a wall of flat screen TVs showing the first game of season. That wouldn’t stop me from coming back once the weather gets colder. I would recommend the out door seating. Very nice. This place is going on my list of regular spots.

Today was the first time I visited this establishment and I was pleasantly surprised at the experience. When driving into the parking lot, it may look like there are not a whole lot of places due to the fact that it is located right next to a used car lot. Therefore, if it looks like the front is full, pull around back to find more parking. Upon entering the building you will see that there is seating to the right and left at high tops and stools with the bar immediately in front of you. There is more seating located towards the left side(when entering from the front) and to the back. There is patio seating available for when weather is better permits. The menu offers a wide variety of appetizers and entrees. From burgers, wings, nachos to daily food and drink specials, this place has a lot to offer. I tried the steamed shrimp, wings with Old Bay, fries and a burger. The shrimp were steamed and then covered with a garlic butter sauce sprinkled with Old Bay. The came out hot and fresh. The wings were cooked just right and my burger was cooked to my specification. The fries were good and crisp without being over cooked. If you are in the area and want some good food at a reasonable price, give this place a try. The portion sizes are huge, they offer a variety of happy hour specials and the service is friendly and fast. Thank you for reading my review. This review is based on my personal experience and opinion.

From the parking lot, The Cove looks like your average dive bar. I was surprised upon entering to find a loud, almost sports-bar type aesthetic, with multiple flat screens on every wall and beer towers on at least half of the tables. It’d probably have a different feel if we came on a live music night, but I was only in town for a few days. Anyway, let’s get back to the good stuff: the eats! Their website labels the grub as «steak & seafood, barbecue, … and upscale pub selections», which is a great summary of the full menu. Our selections: crab cake quesadillas with generous cheese and lump crab and all the fixins. A grilled chicken breast(or burger, if you’d prefer) topped with a crab cake and Chesapeake crab sauce. Piping hot crab dip in a bread bowl. And the most unique menu item: The Skull and Crossbones(burger or chicken situated between two grilled cheese sandwiches, one with cheddar & tomato, one with American, bacon & sauteed onions). Yeah. Whoa. Everything on our table was flavorful with full portions, and our party of 6 left will full bellies and satisfied palates. Notables: The Cove also features two pour-your-own draft tables and a Great White Whiskey Bar, which offers high end scotchs, bourbons & single malts. Didn’t try either, but I felt like both were worth the mention.

well, you have to get the frame of reference of this review, you only get one chance to make a first impression. i heard about this joint on the radio. I was working in the area and went to the promotion. the place was crowded but the wait for service was way too long and then when served it was lack luster. you think if your hosting an event you might have more than some poor prego lady and a kid working a big bar. were not talking lunch time here 7pm. beer was good, crab app was listed mini crab cakes with a crab sauce. If was severed 4 sweedish size crab balls in a coating of thinned out crab dip like sauce. parking was poor a mini lot, bigger than the crab balls but not much, wiith overflow to some mechanics lot. Wont likely go back unless a killer band plays or something.

Great pub grub! Had a really nice spot on the deck next to the creek. Attentive service, food was timely and prepared as advertised. The Cove is definitely a cut above the mass-produced Chilis-on-Fridays-or-Ruby Tuesday-Applebee’s glop. Looking forward to stopping back and trying other items-the quesadillas and Pittsburgh steak salad were pretty good, and the beer selection is great. Make a point to add this one to your ‘gotta try’ list.

FINALLY. I don’t travel to the great Pennsyltucky too often. However, when I do, there’s a gaggle of lackluster watering holes that are one(or more) of the following: a. disgusting b. desolate c. brimming with douches(I’m looking at you, Granfalloons) The Cove has finally given York the lively, yet relaxed vibe one can enjoy even on a Wednesday night. They have a FULL calendar of events, including live music. They have TWO table taps(mind you, the only two outside of Philly and Pittsburgh). And they have an extensive menu THATSERVESUNTILCLOSE. That’s right, till close. Sorry chefs, I can’t even imagine. Oh, they have a deck and an effing Whiskey Bar. Way to be!
