I was out for a girls night out and live literally less than half a mile away. It started off with them being out of 2 wines by the glass that we wanted so we settled for the next best thing. Although the wine was fine, it wasn’t what we wanted. On a positive note, service was great and The fish taco I had was delicious and the salads my friends had seemed to be enjoyed. We were seated by the fireplace and were enjoying that immensely on a cold February night in Maine. However, as we were finishing our glasses of wine, a gentleman, who I suspect to be the assistant manager, came and poured a carafe of water on the fire to put it out. Did I mention it was only 8:50? We were winding up our evening and there were still patrons at the bar so I feel this was unnecessary and rude. I will return but hope for a better experience. Giving them 2 stars based on premature fire extinguishing otherwise would have been 4 stars.

We live down the street so we have given this restaurant many tries. Unfortunately, it continually lets us down. The service is less than desirable every time we have had to wait 20 minutes after eating to get the bill at both busy and non busy times. The food is ok when they get the order correct and out at the same time. The prices are high for what you get. Disappointing because it’s a great location.

We sat in the restaurant rather than the bar on an extremely rainy day It was a Sunday mid day pouring rain. The greeter was young and inexperienced. We were soaked to the skin and she couldn’t be bothered to engage in a conversation about the downpour. The food was ok. Buffalo wings were good. The bread was good. The haddock sandwich was a big portion but bland. Was supposed to be beer battered but was just ok. Truffle fries could use some freshness and truffle oil along with some Parmesan Really just ok. Probably not going back. Nice new building. Get good food and I’ll enjoy the view and come back!

You can just tell when a placed is geared to squeeze out as much money as possible from patrons. The food quality was largely lacking, and the prices were exorbitant for a place that is off the beaten track.(If you are going to charge $ 20 for a large mixed green salad with chicken, I am ok with it, just please have the greens be fresh) I would have given three stars if the flavor was there, but the consensus of the table was that everything was lacking. AMAZINGBEERSELECTION, friendly staff, nice renovations, and beautiful water view.

Being in the restaurant industry it’s extremely difficult to find establishments that«wow» us with both food and service. I’m saddened to know the one that has both is 400 miles away. Although the building is brand new, polished and clean it has a litl bit of hotel lobby feel which could have been due to a slow monday crowd … Food is AMAZING !!!. I had a piece of swordfish… that a swordfish would dream about being in their worst nightmares. PERFECT !!(It Was A Special, so Goodluck and sweet dreams). My father had the Prime Rib, and for him to say its the best he’s ever eaten is a BOLD statement considering his 70+ years on this planet(among others) and very picky demeanor … the lemon goat cheese cheesecake is a GAME/LIFE CHANGER !!! Our server Cathy(possibly with a K) is a veteran and you can tell. she knows the fundamentals– serving 101, she’s knowledgeable/confident about the products they serve and the product the area distributes, and with a natural ability was the perfect contender for my father — a picky restrauntuer who’s a pain in the ass for most veteran servers. Borrowing her glasses, interrupting her dialogue, ruining the perfect mashed potatoes with hot sauce, she was just as entertaining to us as her I’m sure of it … Cheers Cathy, let the Unilocalers Unilocal ! Cathy ’ s bosses — she deserves NY server wage(5.85/hr) Our pleasure !!! — The NY Vikings(father and daughter)

Our first time here and we will definitely be back! Apps and entrees were fantastic and the craft beer list was on point. The atmosphere was pleasant and the host and wait staff were prompt and polite. I would recommend for a family night out or great date spot. I can’t wait until summer to enjoy all this place has to offer with the beautiful river as the backdrop.

We absolutely had a fantastic time! Food is really made to order and it shows! Thanks to the great staff who made sure we wanted for nothing. We showed up as a large party and were quickly seated. Menu is a treat! All of it!

Tuesday $ 1 oysters are fresh and delicious! Their portion is really big, cup of chowder turned out to be a bowl-size. Lobster roll is just ordinary, but cheddar burger is good. Our waitress is very nice and helpful!

This review is biased(in a good way) partially because of my experience that led me to this restaurant. I was traveling down rt. 1 south and Unilocal’d the top places to eat for lunch in the area. The #1 place at the time I searched was The Lobster Shack in Ogunquit, right on the cove. Little did I know that on a Sunday afternoon in mid September that Parking would be horrendous on the cove area. Some places were charging $ 15 to park. What a ripoff! So my wife and I continued down rt. 1 and redid a search on Unilocal. This was after spending 20 minutes looking for parking, mind you. Remember now that we are traveling home to New Jersey from Bar Harbor, so we had a long drive ahead of us. Every minute wasted in Ogunquit added to my frustration. As we traveled down 1, Unilocal showed us The York River Landing. It was easily accessible from rt. 1 and right near the entrance to get back on 95 south. Plus they had a choice of American or seafood. We just wanted to find a decent lobster roll without getting too far off route. If you’re looking for an easy on/off highway restaurant that isn’t Burger King, then come here. It’s clean, well kept restaurant with a nice view of the river. When my wife and I came it was a Sunday afternoon, it wasn’t super busy. Service was quick. The food was good. The bathrooms were clean. The only reason it doesn’t get five stars is because my wife had some shells in her lobster roll. But at least we know it was fresh.

My husband and I took my cousin Bill from Sweden here for dinner tonight for dinner. My husband and I had tuna, it was ok. For $ 29.00 we expected much more. Not much flavor. My husbands makes tuna that has a lot more flavor than yours. The prices are very high. Neither of us finished our tuna because of the bland flavor. We will not go back!

My wife had the fried haddock with fries and I had a block sirloin. The waitress was attentive but that was the highlight of the evening. I expected more from the atmosphere as the building is very well done outside, our food this evening just wasn’t up to par the fries and haddock tasted like the oil should have been changed, my steak was not worthy enough to comment on. Guess we’ll have to give it another try.

This place has been here for many many years now opened and renovated by new owners with an ice cream building in the rear. Started off the evening with a red sangria in which the waitress recommended and then ordered clam chowder and buffalo chicken wrap which was ordinary nothing exceptional.

For the money you spend there are a lot better options. Very disappointed in the food quality. A cup of calm chowder was 7 $, but it was very sparse in clams. We ordered two and both were the same, almost no clams in them. I ordered the large lobster roll for 24 $. My wife was shocked when they put it on the table. It was embarrassing how it was compared to local competition of equal price. Besides that, it had almost no flavor. The waffle fries were good. but no way was thst a 24 $ lobster roll. My wife ordered the mussels and thought they were just ok. The service was also just ok. Definitely would not go back again as there are way too many other good options locally and in the surrounding towns.

This place is amazing! The service was great and the food was incredible! We had the clam chowder to start and it was great. We loved the homemade bacon and scallion cream cheese with crackers instead of bread. I had the Gorgonzola block sirloin. It was by far one of the best steaks I’ve had in my entire life. They use Pineland Farms beef, I was already a fan of their deli meat but I’m now sold on their beef too! My husband got the baked haddock and it was fantastic! They were very kid friendly and our boys had a blast! I will definitely come back here next time we are in the area! Fabulous!

Beautiful view, good food, fresh seafood, excellent beer selection and pleasant service. What more does one want on a Maine vacation?!

My friends and I had an excellent dinner here. I’ve never seen so many Dogfish Head beers on tap. There were about 12 on tap, including ones I had never heard of before. They had a half-rack rib special, which was so tender and highlighted the meat over a gunky sauce. The lobster gnocchi was really impressive and had a beautiful, colorful presentation. The venue is pretty chill and overlooks a small river. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgable about the menu. This spot is also good for large parties and kids. What more could you ask for?

I’m reviewing the ice cream stand next to the restaurant. Soooo good! The price per serving, you come out ahead. The kiddie size is equal to a large in any other land. A large selection of unique flavors.

New ice cream addition — Completely disorganized. Worst service ever! Rude male manager snapped at me. Can’t believe he has a job in the hospitality industry.

So we worked our way South from Kennebunkport after running the marathon. A lot of places were either too busy or still closed for the season and I was determined to get one more meal of Maine lobster in before I left state lines. It was a busy Sunday afternoon on Mother’s Day. Even so, we were immediately seated outside under the covered patio, no waiting. Major bonus points there. They had a special Mother’s Day menu. We ordered the Brussel sprouts appetizer, I ordered the spinach salad with lobster and my husband ordered the Fred haddock and waffle fries. No bread here, instead the complementary app was crackers and cream cheese with bacon! Heavenly. P. S. The drinks here are served in a mason jar with a handle. Awesome that they accommodate the millennial hipster! Our server either forgot the Brussel sprout order or instead anticipated what I was really craving because she apologized that the order took so long and brought out complementary fried pickles with a chipotle dipping sauce. One taste and I was sold, if she would have asked me if I ordered it at that point I would have said absolutely! My spinach salad was refreshing, filling and had great attention to detail. It was covered in a generous portion of lobster. But also came dressed with feta, cranberries and candied pecans(that were obviously freshly made just for my plate because they were still warm and sticky). The fried haddock was PHENOMENAL! The best fish and chips I’ve ever had. The batter was light, crispy and wasn’t overbearing so that you couldn’t taste the fish itself. The fries were waffle fries, another bonus there because those are my fav. The coleslaw was vinegar based rather than mayo and was strong in its own right. The inside of the restaurant was actually very nice and had a cool bar area in the back with abundant seating indoors and out. Next door they also have an ice cream window but I unfortunately didn’t save room for dessert. Definitely the best meal we had in Maine, stop in if you’re in the area!

I’d been looking forward to trying the York River Landing, and I wish I had liked it more. We ordered the Irish nachos and they were ok, decent but nothing special. I had the Caesar Salad with grilled romaine hearts. The croutons tasted like basic, out of the box croutons and the Parmesan cheese tasted stale somehow. The dressing was good and not too much. My wife had the frissee and radicchio salad with blue cheese, bacon and poached pear(it normally comes with candied pecans, which we avoided due to allergies). It was good, but would have been better with more blue cheese crumbles. The dessert list looked great, and I think coming when it is warmer and you can sit outside/enjoy the view.
