I eat here with my boyfriend so much they know our favorite rolls lol. The sushi is amazing and everytime i go i try something new and always end up falling in love, its best to go at lunch time when its cheaper. Ive ordered take out before but its more expensive that way. Take the time to relax and eat you’ll absolutely love it! I should slow down before i get gout but gosh i dont think i can lol

Clean and quiet. It’s American sushi but not bad. I didn’t get anything with sauce all over it like I’ve read in the other reviews. My husband and I both enjoyed it and my kids even ate the chicken and broccoli. The seaweed they use to wrap the rolls is dry and the ginger dressing was weird but other than that it was good. The price was very cheap compared to other places I’ve gotten sushi from. It’s what you’d expect from a sushi bar in Yorktown Virginia. I’ll go back.

Just great service. Lovey sushi. Beautiful plates with fresh, perfect sushi. We have frequented the restaurant for years and are always greeted with a smile. When we moved away from our apartments nearby, Asahi became what we missed most about living there.

This is my new favorite place to get sushi. I love the quiet atmosphere. Their all-you-can-eat lunch menu offers soup and salad as well as a variety of rolls to choose from. Be aware, however, that they will charge you for any uneaten sushi, so plan accordingly and don’t let your eyes be «bigger than your stomach» :) My favorite is the«Spider roll»(soft shelled crab) that isn’t on the lunch menu, but I believe I saw it on the all-you-can-eat dinner menu(but don’t quote me) Their all-you-can-eat dinner menu also offers appetizers too. My friends ordered gyoza and edamame and it was great! I’ll be a regular here when I need to get my sushi fix on!

Amazing and plentiful vegetarian sushi options. My husband and I go here for date lunches for the all you can eat special. My favorite is the salad dressing and the sweet potato roll. The best is when the roll’s rice is still warm. Yumm. Quick service and above average ambiance. Loads of gossip magazines to read if you go solo or are waiting for your take out. This is my favorite restaurant in Grafton, VA.

The food is delicious. But they did go over board on the salad dressings. The sushi rolls are huge and very good. I had a honey roll. So so good

I should have listened to the other reviews and came here for lunch, which ends at 3pm. Sounds like it would have been a great deal. I made the mistake of ordering too many specialty rolls with the sushi buffet and it was hard to stomach all the fried pieces covered in eel sauce/spicy mayo. I think I heard another table complain about the same problem: too much sauce. It got pretty gross. I was trying to find an alternative to Sushi King but I think the best bet here is going with simple maki and lunch buffet. I did not like the butterfly roll that had specialty cocktail sauce on it. The other specialty rolls were hard to distinguish and the waitress didn’t tell us which was which. They did charge us for the unfinished pieces, even though I said I didn’t like one of them. To be fair, we came at an early dinner hour ~4pm so maybe all the right staff weren’t in place yet. Definitely not an authentic Japanese establishment though.

I love this place! A good friend of mine turned me on to them and I must say that every thing is amazing especially the all you can eat lunch special. It’s not the largest place, but it is nicely decorated with a fish tank walking into the door. The service has been awesome and consistent every time I’ve come in. The food is amazing and great quality. The biggest thing that impressed me with the all you can eat was that special rolls were offered with it. Usually other places reserve the special rolls for dinner. Plate presentation is also done very well. Even though this place is a little bit of a drive from my place, I prefer to come here for my all you can eat binges!

A great treat away from«home». This restaurant was a great find! The sushi was fresh and delicious with a roll we have never before had(mantato) which was outstanding — I would love to see this tasty roll in NY! Our children enjoyed their usual(chicken and broccoli) which they ate to completion. Marvelous in every way.

hands down the best sushi ever. Go for the all you can eat dinner and you will not be disappointed. Fresh made rolls to order, as much as you want. For the $ 23 all you can eat dinner. you will pay more for a soup and 2 rolls at any other crappy restaurant… always come to Asahi… always always always.

The all you can eat at lunch is by far the best deal. I order three Godzilla rolls and three Virginia Rolls. It may takes some time to get your rolls when doing all you can eat. Some of the servers can be curt and very short with you sometimes. The food is why I come here at least once a week

Good sushi, fast service. Shrimp used on sushi didn’t taste as fresh as it should be. Good value.,

Best sushi in the area! Lots of options, and they use fairly a minimal amount of rice for their rolls, which is a nice change compared to some of the other sushi options in the Gloucester Point/Yorktown area. Service is usually good, but the one time we had a really rude waitress, I let it slide because the sushi makes up for it. I like the all you can eat lunch special, but with the higher priced all you can eat dinner special, I can’t eat enough to make it worthwhile. Presentation of the sushi is beautiful. Also love their dessert options!

Great if you you are really craving sushi, but don’t want to drive far to get it. My mom and I order from here about twice a month, usually to go. Every time we get it we are never disappointed! Favorites include rainbow roll, Virginia roll, sweetheart roll, dragon roll, and volcano roll.

Just had another great lunch with friends at ASAHI. I’ve eaten here about five or six times now –always for lunch and always the all you care to eat sushi/sashimi– since being introduced to the place last year. Of course, the draw was«all you care to eat», but this is not a trouth and everything is made fresh to order. I have NEVER been disappointed by the freshness of the seafood used and the preparation and presentation is always top notch. Lunch is $ 12 and change for choice of soup(I get Miso), salad(I get Seaweed), and then your selections of sashimi rolls or sushi. They are really worth a visit!

Decent Japanese inspired restaurant in the Yorktown area, and probably the only one worth mentioning thus far since there aren’t many around that I know of. It’s in a shopping center kinda tucked away, it is right across the a Thai place and shares the same strip as 3 Amigos. It’s not much from the outside so be on the lookout. The parking lot does the business justice and I’ve never seen this place packed full so thats not an issue. The inside is small but there is plenty of seats, a handful of booths and several tables. There is always the sushi bar if thats your kind of thing as well. The decorations are nice, I like some of the paintings in this place but it might be a bit too decorated where it looks cluttery. But only a tad. I prefer the booths because their new and raggedy where you feel the every move of your backside neighbor. The food here is your typical Japanese foods as well as some Thai stuff and Chinese stuff thrown in the mix. I’ll admit I’m not the biggest fan of Asian Fusion places where sushi is served because the sushi rice is usually off but this place does a decent job in sushi preparation. As usual, I opt for the sashimi deluxe. I’ve ordered it twice before and have had it prepared and presented differently. Both times were good though. This last time, I ordered the avocado salad and my roomie ordered the Asahi salad. The Asahi salad was delicious, it was a combination of crab, cucumber, roe, radish and other green goodness packed in a tasty mound. The avocado salad was kinda bland, they used this French dressing tasting sauce on ice berg lettuce which was not complimenting at all. I actually stole some of my roomie’s spicy mayo sauce to make it somewhat palatable. She ordered the spider rolls which were delicious, the deep fried soft shell crabs are yummy and the rolls reminded us of Kim Bap, because they were huge. Overall, I would definitely go back since its so close by and I have yet to be disappointed. I like the fact that service is quick and not annoyingly over attentive and that the food is good. On that note, the waitresses here seem indifferent, not rude or standoffish but just there.

Stopped here on the way home from OBX and didn’t expect much since the place was empty. Boy was I mistaken. We ordered spicy tuna, spicy crunchy fish, Crazy Spicy Tuna and the Fantastic roll. First, the free soup or salad with 2 special rolls is a nice touch. Then we were pleasantly surprised with a dish we didn’t order on the house, of what ended up being the remaining of the spicy crazy fish interior. Its both another nice touch and it was delicious. Generous amounts of fish in all rolls. The fantastic roll was just exploding with flavor and I thought the pepper tuna on my crazy tuna roll was an interesting and tasty twist. The lunch special of 2 maki rolls and soup/salad for $ 7 is a great deal as well. I was extremely pleased with a final bill of $ 33 and we had left overs to take home. The staff was friendly and prompt in their service Ill be lobbying to stop here on all future OBX trips
