The service was fantastic. Very personable and polite. The food is consistently great. Pasta and appetizers(especially the bruschetta) are really wonderful.

To start we had fried calamari. Ever had under cooked calamari… I dont recommend it. They for got to give us the bread with oil and cheese, so we asked for it and they must have ran out of dipping oil, for the oil we had was plain Cooking oil– terrible! Then the pizza we ordered with extra sausage had no sausage. Ended up getting sick from either the undercooked calamari or the cooking oil… we left the rest of the food on the table. Drove straight to urgent care where I had been treated for food poisoning. First experience was excellent however this will be a hard one to ever forget.

After choking through a miserable pizza from Genoa’s a week ago and looking for a new pizza place that delivers — we were extremely surprised at Maciano’s! Upon opening the box we knew that we had a winner! The presentation was excellent and our photo posted on Facebook had people drooling. Just a plain thin crust cheese and Italian sausage — not runny — plenty of cheese — taste super! We have found our new pizza place for delivery. Delivery was prompt as promised. Thank you Maciano’s

Like most places in the area, service isn’t top notch. But the food! Consistently head and shoulders above anything else in the area! Pizza made with fresh ingredients. Italian dishes good enough so that you don’t feel like you have to drive all the way to Naperville when you get a hankering. If you get delivery on a typically busy night, don’t be an idiot and think you’ll get it quick. You’ll be waiting a while. Get off your *** and drive the 10min and pick it up yourself. Dine in is relaxed and reasonable. Overall good place.

Pizza tasted excellent as always. Delivered 50 min after ordering which is what they said. Why not 5 stars? Pizza was lukewarm and the crust stuck to the bottom of the box.

Terrible service hour and a half for cold pizza! This place is a joke! Never ordering here again,! Save your money!

Very accommodating. Best bread sticks ever! Have to ask for them. Service is great, thin crust pizza is better than dbl dough for sure.

Something has changed since we were here a few months ago. Pizza sauce had no flavor and penne Alfredo sauce was good tasting, but like soup with pasta swimming in it. Hoping it’s just an off night.

This restaurant has very good pizza for the area. I’ve tried many others and this one is the best in Yorkville. I was not, however, too impressed by their dishes. They were pretty plain tasting.

Pizza is ok, nothing over the top. It cost $ 17 and some change for a medium half cheese and half sausage pizza(pick up). I thought this was ridiculous(especially if the pizza was just ok). I will be seeking cheaper and more tasty pizza next time.

My fiancé and I ordered a stuffed pizza with sausage, mushroom, pepperoni and bacon. The crust was buttery and reminded me of a combination of Pizaonos & Lou Malnati’s The sausage and bacon was amazing! We also ordered a cannoli and their banana Zango dessert. The Zango is a must we love bananas:)

I like the restaurant, the bread, and the food are all good. The service is always painfully slow. I have been there several times and each time, it’s a new set of teenagers running the front and the restaurant. This may be why the service is a little frustrating. I think they have the best pizza in Yorkville, so although it is the most expensive, I order take out or delivery pizza from here.

Very good thin crust pizza. More of an Italian flare than others in the area. A little higher priced, but worth it.

The french fries are so good! Not too greasy or salty and plenty to save for later. The service was great and the wine decent. Overall, for Yorkville, the place is a gem!

We’re regulars here, I just never remember to check in via Unilocal! We always enjoy the food so much we keep going back, but the service is usually slow and inattentive — it’s mostly high school kids waiting tables it appears — so that’s why no 5 stars. Some of our favorites include the baked clams appetizer. The clams they use are small, but tasty. We LOVE the broth they come in and make sure to have a fresh loaf of bread from the oven to sop up all those delicious garlicy, oregano-y juices. We also usually get a spinach Gorgonzola salad to share with all 4 of us(2 elementary school girls, my big-eater hubby, and me, also a big eater!). The spinach is always fresh and generous, but the dressing is a little oily unless you ask for it on the side in a container with a lid and give it a vigorous shake before dressing the salad. If you do that, then it’s just right. There are all the salty/sweet crunchy/soft flavors and textures on one plate. Healthy and yummy! I don’t think we’ve ever had a bad pizza experience. Ordered thick crusts and thin, always good. One thing I particularly like is they have artichoke hearts on the menu, which to me is an indication that somebody with taste, who is likely Italian had something to do with putting together the menu and is always a good sign. My one complaint is always about the service. We wait for waters to be refilled and have to ask several times, the bread served on the table is always warm and fresh, but when we are offered and accept a second loaf for the salad or clams, we’ve had to wait with food sitting on the table, for the bread. The servers are always friendly and nice, which partially makes up for the slow service, and, you know, I waited tables as a teenager too; they just have to learn. So if you’re in the mood for good food and can be patient, Maciano’s is a winner.

Tonight, We ordered bruschetta and build your own pasta… one order was missing a paid-for ingredient after it was delivered. When I called, I was immediately transferred to a manager– she listened, apologized, and then offered to remake and send out a correct dish. Usually, I cringe at stuff like this, but they were incredibly helpful. What a rare occurrence! Also, the food was great. The bruschetta was as good as any. And garlic bread wasn’t overly greasy or thick. We will order again!

I dined here tonight for my first time. The place is small but homey and clean. Our server was pleasant and attentive. We did have to flag down a busboy for table settings. No biggy. We ordered the fried calamari and mussels in marinara for appetizers. The portions were generous. For our entrees my husband had fettucini alfredo with shrimp and I had linguini with white clam sauce. I was very pleased with my selection. It was better than my own recipe. Again large portions. Warm bread was served with olive oil. My husband loves deserts and ordered the tiramisu. Definitely made to share! We took home some nice leftovers for lunch tomorrow. The pizza seemed to be a popular order there but I will go back for the linguini. Our bill came to $ 68 for all of that food and two«half» bottles of wine. Entrees were between $ 9 and $ 14. Very reasonable for the portions.

Despite the poor reviews, I love Macianos in Aurora so much that I decided to give this location a try. I was having friends in from out of town and this location was a good meeting spot on their way thru. While our order did seem delayed(and mine was incorrect when it arrived) everything was really good taste wise. Both my guests and a friend who sampled my leftovers said it was delicious… and for that, I was very thankful! If I hadn’t been in a slight hurry and with guests, I might have asked to speak to the manager about the check. While the waiter did give me a small discount for my order mix-up, I had SPECIFICALLY asked when I was giving him my order if he wanted to write it down so he didn’t forget. He assured me he wouldn’t but then it was wrong. I would say if you are in the area, this is a good choice for pizza and pasta… but plan to be patient!

If anyone ever walks out of Maciano’s hungry, they have a serious eating disorder! Holy cow they pile on the food. For a non-buffet restaurant, this might be the most food for the money anywhere… and here’s the good news… IT’S GOOD! To start off, I ordered the breaded mushrooms as an appetizer. They could have been my meal! Large, meaty, lightly breaded and oh so good. I highly recommend them. On our initial visit(and we will be back!) several in our party tried what I believe is their signature pasta dish, the Penne Maciano w/Chicken. It’s penne pasta and small, tender bites of chicken in an alfredo sauce. None of us even came close to finishing it. Another dining partner sampled the Lasagna. She says she judges any Italian restaurant by their Lasagna and she gave Maciano’s «two thumbs up» and, like the rest of us, brought more home than she consumed. Salad’s are a side and do not come with the meal but considering the portions, who needs them. I did order the house salad and I was indifferent about it. I mean, it’s your plain, basic salad. Unless you’re going there for a salad, I’d say save the couple of bucks and skip it. We did not try the pizza this trip(that will be on our next visit) but several others in the restaurant did. If it tastes half as good as it smelled, it will be fantastic. A friend of mine has tried the pizza and says it’s amazing so I will have to go see for myself. They have everything from a 12″ to a monster 20″ pizza! The service was outstanding. Pat, our server couldn’t have been better. He took very good care of us! All in all, Maciano’s was definitely worth the 15 minute drive to Yorkville. It may be one of Chicagoland’s best kept secrets!
