I received an edible arrangement for Mother’s Day. The cantaloupe and honey melon were tasteless and the tartness of the strawberries turned my face inside out right before I spit it out. In order to make this part of the arrangement work for me I had to use the fruit in recipes containing sugar(strawberries with short cake) or feta cheese and mint(melons). On the other hand, the pineapple hearts were nice and sweet as were the grapes. This was my first experience with one of these fruit arrangements. I was looking forward to fresh fruit but was not impressed with the fruit chosen for the arrangement. Apparently it is not tasted as it is being cut and arranged to insure good fruit has been chosen.

Mother’s Day in a home with only dogs as children can be a bit depressing, especially for my wife. To avoid getting into TMI, let’s just say that I have waffled between flat-out ignoring the day to full-blown recognition. This year I chose recognition in the form of an edible arrangement. We’d received one of their arrangements a little over a year ago and I thought it was very good. This was my first time sending an arrangement. The experience was very good. I ordered for delivery, only two days before my delivery date. That was not a problem. I used their website, which is easy to navigate and secure. I worried that the delivery time was going to be too late in the day. As I probed my wife on delivery day(after the purchase, what an idiot) about her plans for the day, she tells me that she’s leaving the office at 12:30 to head to another building. I call Edible Arrangements and calmly ask if they could do anything. She said she’d try. Coincidence or not, I got a call from my wife 20 minutes later, all aflutter with excitement over the dog’s kind gesture(the card said Happy Mother’s Day from them). The prices are high for some cut and arranged fruit and the website does try to up-sell you on a zillion additional items so be prepared. In the end, this is a nice thing to do for someone you love, once-in-a-while.
