I was driving through Yreka when I noticed that my cell phone battery was dead, even though it said it was completely full less than 2 hours before. Being the paranoid person I am, I couldn’t drive one more mile with a dead cell phone(after all, what if I broke down?! I would have to – GASP! – trust a stranger to help me!!!). I visited various cell phone places right off the freeway, trying to find a charger of some sort. I eventually ended up at Radio Shack. The guy who worked there(I think his name was Tom) was really helpful from the moment I walked in the door. He showed me all of my options and recommended the cheapest one. He used a knife to open up those impossible hard plastic packages for me and put all the packaging in a bag for me, then tested the charger to make sure it worked for my phone. Awesome! Also, I used the bathroom here. It was the cleanest little bathroom! I was totally surprised. And amused, because sitting next to the toilet was a cute little candle… and a stack of NRA magazines.
