By far the best mexican food around. Casa lupe has the best enchiladas with a nice chocolate sauce

Came in yesterday for lunch! I haven’t been here in a couple years, but frequent the Gridley location often, both Restaurant and Market. I got a great server, friendly, checked on me often, and nice personality. It was busy for lunch time… The last time I was here, they gave complimentary cup of soup with your lunch, so I guess they don’t do that anymore. I did get extra flour tortillas, which I really like their tortillas both corn and flour, plus they give you the little pats of Darigold butter! They have awesome fresh salsa, it’s not your regular pico de gallo, it’s like a unique Casa Lupe fresh salsa with lots of spices and what I love about it, is that it has celery, so you get an extra crunch from both the salsa/chips together(You can also buy this fresh salsa and their packaged tortillas at Local stores). Their spicy salsa was very delicious, it wasn’t too hot, but the best part was how it was charred/roasted flavor! Lunch, I ordered my usual Carne Asada steak plate with extra fries! It came with rice, beans, guacamole, and your choice of tortillas. The guacamole was excellent. Food was pretty good, but couldn’t finish it! Love their french fries!!! They have some of the best enchiladas because of the sauce and I like their Chili Rellenos too. They do have good Margaritas and Tequila Sunrise. Atmosphere was fine. There is plenty of parking, Casa Lupe is right next door to Carl’s Jr.

I have been here three times, all several years apart. Every time it was just as bad as the first. How this place stays open is beyond me… This place is not only has bad food, it usually has bad service too. I think that the 5 star reviews here have to be shills… They just have to be paying for the good reviews… dont believe me? go ahead, try it… dont say you werent warned! The funny thing is there used to be a Casa Lupe in Chico and it was pretty good. I know that there is also one in Gridley. I have heard that this one is also just god-awful.

We’ve been fans for decades. I’m touchy about Mexican food and the items I’ve ordered at this restaurant have never bothered me. I know, that’s a weird way to start maybe, but it’s the truth. I’m not a fan of TVs all over… but the FOOD and STAFF are excellent. We hit this place at least once a week!

Horrible… and I mean HORRIBLE customer service. Quite possibly the worst I’ve ever received under the circumstances. My friends mother passed away and Casa Lupe was her favorite restaurant. My friend, who doesn’t have a lot of money, decided to have a memorial get together for her her at Casa Lupe on January 3rd which would have been her 46th birthday. About 20 people came and we gathered in the back left side of the restaurant. Our waitress was THE rudest, most sour, nasty woman I have ever had the displeasure of being served by. I heard her complaining to her co-workers/manager not once BUTTWICE about how we were taking up room and not ordering food. We were there for 2 hours and most ordered drinks! Like RELAX. You don’t even have the common decency to wait until we’re out of ear shot before you start talking trash ?! I’m soooooo sorry that YOUR night was ruined by my friends mothers death. I even understood in the beg. that it was probably a let down for her so I attempted to be nice. But NO. She was SORUDE. Not only to me, but every one. I even double checked with my friend that the restaurant was aware of the reason for the gathering-they were! Everyone in Yuba City already knows Casa Lupe’s food is gross but add horrible customer service on top and it’s just sad. Maybe you should train your staff to have some compassion and smile, for Christ’s sake. Raiders jersey, number 20… You know who you are! I feel sorry for anyone unfortunate enough to be seated in your section in the future. Yikes!

Came here for the first time on New Year’s Day and found my new favorite place! The service was excellent, the chips and salsa plentiful, with no wait to be seated and minimal time for the food to arrive. I had the shredded beef nachos appetizer and it was both visually appealing and delicious! I meant to take a picture but it was too good to resist!

The food is a hit and miss. My family has been coming here for years and occasionally we order in. this evening I ordered food for 5 of us. I ordered myself a vegetarian fajita burrito. Upon placing the order I asked the person taking the order if they can add rice, beans, sour cream and guac. She assured me not once but twice that it comes with it. Well, I get home and I have tortilla with steamed veggies inside it. Thank you Casa Lupe for training your staff to take orders properly. I will not be returning– ever! I also wish I could take that one star I was forced to provide to leave this review. And, I am sure if customers aren’t taken care of, the three star restaurant that you guys are, will eventually become and one star. Thanks you giving me my refund. I threw your shitty burrito in the garbage!

So I’ve got history with this restaurant. Gone here for many years and I’ve thought about it a bit. I don’t really go for the food. It’s pretty pedestrian fare. I don’t go for the service, because to be quite honest it’s pretty blasé. No, I go for the nostalgia. CL is one of those places that you just develop loyalty for. Don’t get me wrong. There are some things they do rather nicely(I love the special de la casa). The chicken enchiladas are good too. Guess you’ll just have to go and see for yourself.

Casa like just isn’t what it use to be. The quality of food has gone downhill. The crunchy tacos are stuffed with lettuce and way less meat than before and they aren’t as flavorful anymore. The salsa is diced up much smaller now and the rice also tastes pretty bland these days. The last few times I’ve gone, we haven’t been given fresh tortillas which are a highlight of the meal. Yesterday was the last straw for us when my mom found a baby roach in her boiled beans! It was horrid! This wasn’t the first time we experienced bugs. I’ve had a fly in my iced tea and my dad has found a fly in his food before. It’s just unacceptable for food to come out of the kitchen like that. The bug in the beans was it for us! Even though the restaurant comped our meal and offered to bring my mom new food, it’s hard to think about eating there again. What if those bugs are mushed up into the refried beans??? Ugh. Too bad… We loved this place.

I don’t know what all the hype is. Its very american mexican food. Nothing had any flavor but the salsa. Too much cheese on everything. The sea food(shrimp) was flavorless and super rubbery. The hostesses were wearing sweats n not professional at all. The waitress was super nice but I wont be returning.

Sit by the kitchen so you can see that most of your food is coming from a can, being microwaved etc.

I’ve never liked this place, but my husband does(well, did), so I continued to try it. I order the vegetarian fajitas, and they obviously don’t clean the grill between orders, and there was small pieces of chicken in my dish. The last time we went there, we ordered to go. By the time we got home(less than 5 min), the«fresh» tortillas were hard as a rock and completely inedible. The meat in my husbands pork burrito was so tough he couldn’t eat it. We will definitely choose another Mexican place over Casa Lupe in the future.

We are regulars and are there pretty much every week. They know our order before we sit down, the type of salsa we prefer and just make coming here a great experience every time, even with young kids. Oh and did I mention the food is AWESOME? You’ll always leave there full and happy, never a complaint about anything. My favorite place to go in YC, and the best cheese enchiladas anywhere(tied with Ricardos in Chico). Favorites: cheese enchiladas and guacamole anything(they have guacamole tacos and tostadas too) and their special hot salsa(you have to ask for it). Fresh hot off the press tortillas at your table are also a must, just get there before 8pm. Ok I’m done drooling now, think we’ll have to go back tomorrow :)

Not happy! I eat here all the time. I called in an order and drove across town to get it. When I get home I notice that there is no taco. So I called and they say well we didn’t charge you for it. I don’t care if you charged me for it I ordered it and you didn’t supply it. They put someone on the phone who was not helpful over a stupid taco. I won’t eat there anymore due to poor customer service.

Delicious Mexican food! Good chips and excellent salsa for the wait, along with delicious beans, rice, tacos, burritos, enchiladas etc. 5 stars.

Quite possibly the best non-Indian restaurant in Yuba City. Tortillas made in front of you, and served warm in a little basket with pats of butter? Stuff of DREAMS!!! I like the food, large portion-sizes, margaritas and service. They make an excellent spicy salsa too. Large restaurant, cozy atmosphere. I love it!

HAVEAGAIN: This is a decent, American-style Mexican restaurant(which I like). The taco with shredded beef was good, as was the salsa and chips. NOTHAVEAGAIN: the chile relleno did not seem to have an actual chile, but did have green bell pepper strips within a thick egg batter. It was OK but better to skip this. The big surprise was that I ordered just the two items ala carte. The server did not bother telling me that by skipping the beans and rice, I was only saving 40 cents! At most Mexican restaurants, leaving out the beans and rice saves $ 1 – 2. Come on, Casa Lupe, tell your customers that ala carte ordering is not going to really save any money.
