Dined at CHL on 11÷1÷15. Our server was Meagan. She did an awesome and amazing job with our party of 6. Everyone had ample time to review menu and Meagan was very accommodating with questions. Food quality was excellent. Garlic fries=yumm! If you have not stopped by CHL, definitely put on your bucket list soon.

Okay I’m a chicken eater and my wife likes steak. She had me try her steak when it came and guess what I THINK I’M A STEAKEATERTOO, wow it was amazing! We’ve been back four times now lol. Love the place and the owners are really nice people too.

What a horrible restaurant. I get 1 date every 6 months with my husband without kids. Our $ 60 steak was so overcooked that we couldn’t even eat it. I ordered medium rare and it came out well done. The green beans tasted like rubber drenched in soy sauce. The lobster Mac n cheese was so spicy we couldn’t eat any of it. The overcooked chateaubriand was covered in mushrooms, which I’m allergic to. We specifically said no mushrooms. The waiter saw we were not eating anything and instead of offering something different or asking what was wrong, he asked if we wanted dessert and brought us a box. Horrible service. Horrible food. Waste of $ 75 !!! Never again!!!

My steak was so salty it was not edible. I rejected it and asked for a steak grilled with no salt. The waitress came back with a steak dripping in oil that puddled on my plate. We will never eat there again.

Not impressed with the food but the atmosphere is nice. Portions were small and had to return a steak to be cooked more. The servers were nice.

Me and the wife have been coming here for Happy Hour lately, especially after we learned one of our daughter’s best friend is working here. They have the coldest beer that always taste fresh and crisp. This is indicative that the lines are flushed frequently. If there’s one thing I can’t stand is skunky beer. But the surprise for us was the flavor and the quality of the food we ordered. We haven’t eaten here in years because the quality of the steaks were similar to store bought Select steaks. After we experienced this a few times, we stopped coming here. This time when I saw Award Winning Skirt Steak on the menu, I told myself I had to try it and if this isn’t good, this will be it for me. I would not order steak here again. So I took another chance and ordered the skirt steak dinner. I just happened to be there during the first hour of HH, so I ordered a $ 1 draft while I waited for my dinner to arrive. The server brought out a small kettle of ranch style beans and my bacon potato soup, which were both excellent. My main course finally arrived and I must say that it was very eye-appealing. My baked potato was topped with butter, sour cream, and chives. The whole sautéed mushrooms with garlic were juicy, garlicky, and addicting. The steak looked picture-perfect with the grill marks and glistened with the A1 butter sauce. The steak was tender and cooked a perfect med-rare. It was well seasoned and flavorful. I will order this again. Is this enough for me to try the other steaks again? A resounding YES! I will!

I went to CHL on 12−31−15, i flat out frogot it was new years eve so i was not surprised they were busy 45 min wait. Ok no problem. About 20 min into the wait i was standing at counter when they called a group from the bar area at the booth. Ok no problem i had told the hostess i would sit in bar or dining which ever came open first. A couple walked in the door past the hostess without saying anything ir the hostess without saying anything. Nevermind there was 5 hostesses standing at the counter in a bs session and sit at the booth. I went to the hostess and got a little upset about the and was blown off. I just left with family. I called manager which later said she was owner and complained. I was told the bar /saloon was a first come basis. So i asked then why is there not a sign and why. did the hostess ask and agree to seat me which comes first. She said well good idea on sign but the girls were 16 yo and getting frazeled because they were busy. On a very. busy night like this should of had veterans on. They wrote down wring pager numbers and some with dead batteries. Very poor customer communications. I said i was going to let corporate know her comment was this is a franchuse so they can not tell me what to do. With that kind of attitude it is not going to last long. Mind you this us under new ownership in. the last couple of months. Poor customer relations. Poor attitudes in general.

Horrible service! Waited for 10 minutes with other customers waiting to be seated. People had new born children and know one was acknowledged! Glad I drove a hour for nothing.

Cool Hand Luke’s always has great steak cooked to order. I usually order the Prime Rib, rare end cut(yes they have it) and it is the bomb. I always have more than enough left over for the next nights supper. If you have not tried Cool Hand Luke’s you really should give it a try.

I really like the food at CHL! Even though we got terrible service a few months ago, still came back a couple times. My review/stars is mostly for the food. I love the atmosphere of the place, Western cowboy style, I enjoy the food, which is very hearty, comfort food. The prices aren’t too expensive and they give you a good amount of portions. I usually come home with leftovers. The menu has changed a bit from my last visit, so it was nice to see some new items. I tried the Ahi Stack and it was very delicious. There was plenty of Avocado, Mangos, Ahi tuna mixed together, served with fried wontons. One of my favorite things to order is their Roasted Jalapenos, you get 3 on the side for $ 2. A new thing that I like is their Veggie Kebab, which is great to pick as a side if you are doing low carb or don’t want to eat potatoes/rice. I’ve tried their Baked potatoes, mashed potatoes, and french fries, but I actually prefer to have the extra veggie choices instead. The Prime Rib is pretty good, comes with creamy or straight horseradish and Au Jus. You also get complimentary Sourdough bread rolls with a whipped herb/garlicky butter and a cute caldron pot of beans. On their entrees, you can choose soup or salad. Usually the soup is Beef Stew and it’s very good. I like their salad because the Strawberry Balsamic vinaigrette is my FAVORITE! So far, I have never been to another restaurant that has Strawberry Balsamic as a salad dressing choice, so this and the Roasted Jalapenos are what makes CHL different and definitely two of my favorite things to order every time I dine here! If you haven’t tried any of their desserts, I HIGHLY recommend the Cinnamon Raisin Bread pudding. Definitely big enough to share with two or three people!!! Customer service was great, Hostess was very friendly and our server was great! The restaurant was kind of busy and it did take some time, but overall much better experience. When we were leaving, I noticed all the Fall décor, very pretty! Also, the times I used the restroom, it has been clean and stocked, so that has been consistent on weekdays, since I do avoid Fri/Sat here. Weekends can be loud, crowded, and I actually prefer the weekdays anyways. I am sure I will return again …

Kinda expensive for the barn, hay ridin’, good time it look like on the outside but the lemonade is AMAZING! And as if the giant mason jar they serve it in isn’t enough? They’re bottomless! I mean the food is good and the steak and whatever but I mean this lemonade is like… I gotta go get more lemonade! Totally fun for a night out Rolls are amazing too Staff is always friendly and attentive

NO! Just NO! This place stinks. The service takes forever, the steaks taste like they were defrosted and sitting out for a while. It is overpriced for the portion size. My family and I have tried to eat here at least 4 times. I give up. Don’t waste your time or money on this place.

Yummy! That’s it. That’s my review. Hehe. CHL’S is hands down my favorite restaurant in Yuba City. The Duke is the best drink around and a few of my favorite dishes are the parmesan crusted chicken, the artichoke shrimp pasta, the wrangler and steak, of course. For an appetizer get the artichokes or the steak bites. Just thinking about those dishes is making my mouth water. Enjoy! :)

We chose to dine here on our way home from Mendocino. We found a booth in the bar immediately and was greeted by our server, Amanda. I ordered the spicy Corona, which was $ 5 on the HH menu, I was a bit surprised when all it was, was a bottle of Corona with spices and a shrimp on top. I must’ve misunderstood. Hub ordered his typical LI. We also ordered the fried mushrooms $ 3 for HH. That was a good deal, mushrooms fried perfectly with a spicy dipping sauce. I took advantage of the lobster tail dinner offered on Saturdays for $ 21.50. I thought it was a fantastic deal until it came out. It was, at the most, four ounces of lobster! I took four bites, it disappeared! Let me say, it was an expensive baked potato, let me tell you, because that’s what I was feasting on! Hubby ordered the garlic chicken, it was good at first, but was extremely rubbery towards the second breast. Our server, Amanda was fantastic! She was friendly and always attentive. While sitting in the bar, we noticed a sign that read that today’s special(written on a small chalkboard) was $ 5 Long Islands, so hubby took it upon himself to order another one. We later found out that it was an old sign, they only honored one of the Long Islands and never changed the signage. There was also a sign for beer and a shot of your choice(written on a chalkboard), which was also an old sign. Ugh! Although Amanda was a fantastic server, not sure if I would recommend this establishment. Too damn misleading! From the drinks to the food, highly suggest you go elsewhere!

I enjoyed the atmosphere so much. Reminded me of my home Texas! Everything on my plate was spectacular. I got a steak with a loaded baked potato, baked beans, and it came with clam chowder! Best steak that I have ever had. It’s the first time I are a steak without A-1 sauce! Our waiter Patrick was working our table and the one right next to us and never missed a beat. Great place, great food and great service!!!

I would give four stars for the servers because they were really good but this is an overall review and what happened with our dining experience makes it a 1 star by far. Like I said I’m not writing about the servers. They were awesome! Why it was so bad. 1st the menu was not descriptive enough. There were so many items(5 of us) that were ordered that were just too spicy. We had to send the shrimp fajitas back because they were too spicy. I put hot sauce on a lot of things but if you don’t know you are getting spicy fajitas and then get them. It is not ok. It was my daughter that ordered them 2nd me and my oldest ordered the prime rib(medium) to share. It came out burnt. Seriously burnt. It was also cold. So we sent it back. 3rd the artichoke appetizer we ordered wasn’t cooked. You think that is bad. It gets worse from the«management». So, as we were returning our third dish we asked to speak to the manager. The«manager» came out and I explained what was wrong with all of our dishes. Her response was well we have never had so many complaints from one table. I said maybe they just decided not to complain and just never came back. Because in the past three years I haven’t actually complained to management I just Unilocal.Anyway, my youngest daughter ordered something else(that she still didn’t eat). My oldest and I got our still mooing prime rib. When the bill came(which my father was paying for reviewed it). There was only a credit for 5.00. He called for the manager again. She came to the table glaring right at me. I did not acknowledge her because it wasn’t me who asked for her. He repeated all of our problems. Then she turned her back on him and faced me to tell me(she has his credit card in her hand) if you think I’m gonna give you this whole meal it’s not gonna happen. You will have to pay! I told her that was never our intention. Come to find out that she was completely biased because she was the owner and her husband was the kitchen manager. Clearly they are biased and have absolutely no idea.
