Yuba Buffet is now combined with the now empty China Buffet which had been located on 20 an 99… Their new name is «Tasty Buffet«… Food an Cleanliness left a lot to be desired There bathroom was is need of some serious cleanliness an remodeling Wiping the floor in the eating area then using the same bucket of water an cloth to wipe the prepared food area, needs to be addressed

I’ve been going here for years, and I was surprised to see how bad the Unilocal reviews were for this place. This restaurant is great, and definitely deserves a higher rating. The service was good, and the food was pretty good for the price. It was pretty clean in my opinion, and the food was fresh and didn’t seem to be sitting out for too long. Overall a great place, and I would visit again.

Love this place! Obviously the food is there to be kept warm. I don’t understand how some people say that the food looks like it’s been there for a while ect. well it is a buffet, they are not just going to throw away food that has been there for a bit and still has plenty. There is a worker that checks the food all the time and moves the food so all can be warm. If there is a problem with any food, they are quick to fix it whether they have to replace the whole tray just to fix the problem. Yes there might be some flaws but what buffet is perfect? All My family loves eating here. Best buffet in town!!!

The only reason I have ever come to this place was because I was with a big family and they seemed to have liked it, however my experience was not anything to brag about. First of all, the servers were very unperson-able and not welcoming to us at all, and I had to literally flag down the server to get my drink refilled after she had passed us already several times without even asking us how everything was going. NOTOK! The food was mediocre. Hometown is better by far! Not a very big selection here and it was not very fresh either. I actually felt pretty sick after eating their food. Might I also mention that there was not much flavor to anything, very bland. I have had authentic Chinese food before and this place does not come close! Save yourself the extra money, and skip this place.

Overall I would say that I was pretty unhappy with my experience at the yuba buffet. First thing I noticed after going into the restaurant was the smell. The fountain just inside the main doors smelled terrible. Not only did it smell bad but just aesthetically was not interesting. Anyways! We went on a Thursday for the seafood special. The food was not good at all. The sushi was dry and falling apart, the shrimp was rubbery and over cooked, the chicken was burnt, the noodles had no sauce and no taste. After one plate I was ready to leave. Since I was paying for a buffet I thought I might as well try to get my money’s worth. Still disappointing. I can not say that this is a place I’ll be going again.

The first time I was here, it was great. I went and helped myself to a nice hefty plate, asked the waitress for hot chili sauce she brought back a Tabasco sauce. I asked specifically if they had Sriricha hot sauce and she brought back a bottle of that lovely Sriricha hot sauce. Second visit here I was shocked and disappointed to hear that they did not have Sriricha. I told them I was here about 2 weeks ago and they did. The waitress said it was only available at the grill section, so I went with a saucer plate and asked the person behind the grill for some Sriricha and got some. Third visit here is the reason I’m writing this, the cook behind the grill was rude and to top it off they did not want to give me any Sriricha when I asked for it. I mean dawn it’s only hot sauce, if I ever come back here I’ll remember to bring my on bottle of Sriricha and see what they freaking have to say.

it deff deserves better reviews then it has. If you want some 10 star restaurant then you should move out of these 1 star cities. It’s not that bad, but it wasn’t nasty. Almost didn’t go because of the reviews but we decided to try it any way! They were very on it with grabbing our plates and keeping up on drinks. Decent selection on food and good price. The food was really good I liked everything I got. Love the koi pond ! Not many deserts, they have a ice cream machine but no toppings at all not even chocolate syrup. But still a good place to eat and I will be going back with my family!

Disgusting ! The food was old, and had been sitting a very long time. I saw a worker pick up some Prawns that fell on the floor, and she put them back in the bin where you get your food ! YUCK ! It was hot and stuffy, and the pond they have was stinky, and the smell of rotten fish was gross. I didn’t eat, but half my family was sick the same night, and the next day !

Nasty, nasty, nasty ! Never liked this place. My family wanted to go here(the kids, they have I’ve cream). I had to spit out the sushi and several other items that just tasted horribly bad, like rotten! I was able to survive on flavorless chocolate pudding, ice cream and pastry cookies(the only item I had that was actually good, and had some flavor and most likely was not made there). To top off the disgusting food and horrible service, the one thing I thought would alleviate my pain(military discount) was taken away. She told me that every member of my family had to have military ID, and she would only discount for those that had a dependent ID card. Wow, the stupidity of this floored me. My response, no tip. At least that way I got the discount, round about. Why tip for crappy service and horrible overpriced food! Hasn’t anyone told these people that you catch more flies with honey, and more customers with good food,

Wow… speechless really. I don’t typically complain at a food place. I chalk it up to «not coming back» and leave it at that. However, when you can’t even stomach anything they have at a giant buffet? My girlfriend said to the lady, hey — you just saw us come in here — we are sorry, but we can’t eat this… maybe we can split the bill in half as we didn’t really have dinner… They offered her %15 off… We were in there 5mins… I wasn’t even in the mood to deal with these people. But I thought to myself… %15 of what we ate is $ 4… not $ 30! lol. We just decided to take it up here. So there you go bud, hope it was worth it to rip us off. I hope your business sinks. Ps. I am all for having kids at a workplace, but your’s running and screaming throughout the building is fab. Good show mate.

I am thoroughly disgusted! The only reason this place got one star is because I had to. We are moving out of state and wanted to have one last family dinner together here. What a mistake! I took 3 bites and couldn’t stomach anymore. Everything I tasted was cold and chewy. My boyfriend even tried to have a salad but the ranch also tasted funny. My daughter had to run to the bathroom twice because she felt sick to her stomach. I never complain at a restaurant but I did this time. The manager was a jerk about it. I told him I would pay for half because my son had actually eaten a couple pieces of fruit. The manager told me I could have 15% off! $ 30 for a few bites is ridiculous! We did warm the family that was walking in and they turned around and left. I’m just glad we saved their evening because ours was ruined! Peace out Yuba City!

I’ve given this place a few tries because even if I have a horrible experience once, I believe in second chances. At first it was a hit and miss… sometimes the food was good, sometimes not so much. Lately, however, it’s just been worst after bad. I do see that the staff is overwhelmed and that may be the underlining problem. The food always LOOKS good, but once I sit down, I am disappointed. Hardly anything tastes fresh and I can tell it takes them a while before they restock or empty the food trays. It’s hard to explain it but most of the food, especially the desserts(which you’d think, «how can anyone screw up with dessert?») taste old and cheap. I know, I know, it’s a buffet, not a five star eatery, but I know of other places I could have gotten a better meal for my money. I just hope that they will start to make a better effort soon. Until then, I do not plan on going back.

This place just keeps getting worse and worse. First of all, an incoming customer should not be told«just hold on» in order to be seated. She went to ring up some exiting customers. I really should have walked out at that point, but I did not. I was then seated and I went right to serve myself. By the time I sat down, my drink(water) was on the table. Good sign of good service? So I thought! The teriyaki chicken was cold. Thankfully, I did not get sick! The smell of something fishy, no really, was in the air. My water cup was low. And the«server» walked by and actually turned her head and SAW that I needed more water. But nope, didn’t do a thing. I got up and got some fruit. When I returned, my used plate was gone but no refill on water. She obviously tended to the table, so why not refill my water! It wasn’t until another 10mins that she finally came back and asked«more water?» I said no, just bring the check. Will not be coming back to this major dump by choice. Left 0% tip as they did not earn it. I doubt management really cares. Every employee walks around like zombies.
