Guidera’s Harley-Davidson

As I have moved from one area to another in Northern California in the last 30+ years, I’ve always used my local HD dealer for a new bike, parts, and service, with my first of three new bike purchases in ’89. So 5 different dealers, and Guidera’s has been the best for me. The entire staff from phone reception to ownership always treats me with the utmost of respect, with parts and service knowledge and expertise always exceeding my expectations. When I walk in or phone, they always seem to know my name, and what I ride. Haven’t been able to buy a new Harley for quite a while, but if I were in the market for a new ride, they would be my first choice. I wouldn’t bother with saving a dollar to go out of town to never return for parts and service, and would gladly give my business to the store that offers exceptional service in every department I’ve used from Motorclothes to servicing to «No problem» warranty repair to free advice. To me a bigger store with a small town appeal.

My only experience with them is through a phone call. I have to say that the young lady who answered the phone was extremely rude and un-​helpful. I would advise all the managers to train their employees to be helpful and friendly. Not a good experience.

The service department has always been the best around to get your bike in and out the service guys are the best I drive all the way from Plaserville California to Yuba City to get my bike worked on I just had the clutch problem that was a recall all the Sacramento stores didn’t have the part and wanted a weeks before they could do it so that meant my bike would be down for over a week Yuba City’s service department had it in stock I brought my bike down and they did it in 20 minutes for me soon as I showed up thanks guys

WOW, had the worst customer service!!! They ordered the wrong parts, then are charging me a re-​stocking fee to take them back! DUH! It was your fault! Employees and owner were rude and unwilling to help! Don’t waste your time! Go to Folsom or Sac!

Guidera’s HD is a pleasure to deal with. Their passion for bikes is evident in the way they run their business. They have a knowledgeable staff and their service is fast and reliable.

Recently purchased my first bike from this shop, and it was a very smooth process. After talking about it with Jim for nearly two years, and NEVER with any pressure to buy, I finally bought the bike that I wanted. I always liked the fact that I could go into this shop with my young kid’s, and never feel uncomfortable about having them with me. They (Guidera Employees) would even encourage putting the kid’s on the bike’s so I could take pictures of them. Which my kid’s thoroughly enjoyed! Whether you’re purchasing a $ 20.00 t-​shirt or spending $ 20K+ on a bike, they treat customers with the utmost respect. I was recently in situation where I needed a small part on a day that this dealership was closed, but I made a call to Jim Guidera, and shortly after he came to the shop (on his day off). The part that I needed wasn’t in stock, but he gladly took it off a new bike so I could have mine fixed right away, and even helped me fix it and supplied all the tools! Now that’s what I would call SUPERIOR customer service! I would recommend this HD dealership over any other HD dealership in the Sacramento area. So if you’re in the Yuba/​Sutter area, and looking to purchase a new or used bike, definitely check this place out… it will be well worth it if you do!

We stopped to browse at this dealership 3 times over a period of a few months while we tried to decide which bike we really wanted.
During the first visit, we were told quite pointedly that if we wanted the specific bike we were looking at, that we better talk numbers because someone else was scheduled to come talk to them about it later the same day. We weren’t ready to buy just because we were being pressured.
Over a month later, the same bike was still there. This time, we were more serious so we took a picture of the dealers sales tags that were hanging on the bike so that we could go do some research and comparisons before we decided that was the right bike for us. As we were talking with the owner of the shop, he not only started pushing the sale, but he also told us that if we didn’t buy it then we better not expect it to still be there later because someone else was coming in to talk financing. Since he told us this minutes before closing time — and we’d been told the exact same thing during our previous visit — I felt pretty confident that there was no other customer waiting.
Finally, about a month later we were ready to buy. We walked into the shop ready to ride a bike home but the exact bike we’d been looking at had been traded to another dealer out of Reno. Once again, we dealt with the owner of the shop. He told us that he could get us the exact same bike — but suddenly the price was a FULL $ 3000 higher! Initially, he told us that we were mistaken about the price of the bike — so I showed him the pictures of all of the tags that I’d taken. Upon seeing them, he tried to tell me they weren’t his tags — so I pointed to the name of the dealership in the picture. Eventually he said that the price would be much higher because of dealer fees and shipping. We told him no thanks.
For some silly reason, we actually attempted to deal with him about a 2014 Street Glide. When we tried to deal for the bike, he was completely arrogant and rude, going so far as to say that if we couldn’t afford what he was asking, we better look at a cheaper bike. I struggled to keep my mouth shut and stay but my husband was still attempting to be nice. We were point blank told that Guidera’s does not need to make a deal because these are Harley’s and they sell themselves. He also stated that he can ask whatever he want’s because there’s always someone willing to pay.
And to top off the oh so wonderful experience — AFTER the shop had closed for the day — he actually had a salesman come into his office and interrupt asking if he’d take $ 28,000 in cash for a bike from a man on the phone. Without a second of hesitation he said there was no way he’d take a penny less than they sticker price and if the man wanted a bike, he better buy one he could afford. I have no idea what this incredibly arrogant man thought he was going accomplish but what did happen is that we drove to HD of Sac the next day and bought a beautiful 2015 Street Glide Special that had just been unloaded off the truck that day for several thousand dollars LESS than Guidera thought his year old bike was worth.
We will never step foot in his shop again.

I called and spoke with a salesman «joe» and he was extremely rude and disrespectful I was so taken back by his attitude I hang up! I will never deal with them again!!!

We are new to riding so naturally I would have questions, a salesman at the Yuba City Harley Davidson dealership was disrespectful and even dismissed me mid sentence, very bad customer service. Hope he wasn’t the owner, because there are too many other choices to be treated badly.

I was having problems with my carb. Called them out of the blue early on a Monday and they answered fairly early. Got my bike towed over using my HOG membership. They were swamped but Mike in Service got me in and on the lift ASAP because we were on the road back to our house in SoCal.
Problem ended up being with the float. Got me fixed up and back on the road for just the cost of an hour of labor.

Holmes and his son Mike are awesome guys back in the service department. I have had my bike serviced there many times. There were also times I just needed their advice and they gave it willingly. You don’t get no bullshit from this dealership. Joe Guidera runs a good crew. From the parts department all the way and including the little cutie Deanna that is usually at the counter. Thanks for selling me the Oakley sunglasses. The chicks all dig them. Peace, Ted

During a recent Poker Run, I had trouble with my bike in the parking lot of Yuba City H-​D and asked someone directing traffic if he knew anything about bikes. He chuckled and said «yes», and after explaining an issue that had just come up that morning, then proceeded to check and make an adjustment to my bike right there in the parking lot. When I asked if he thought it was OK to do the run with all the starts and stops, he said of course – but if it gave me any trouble said he would come get me in a truck himself. When he handed me his business card, I was stunned to see the owner, Joe Guidera, was looking out for me. I was impressed, and after the minor adjustment he made, my bike gave me no trouble for the rest of the day.
A few weeks later, I decided there was no time like the present to buy my dream bike. I checked with my local and several other dealerships, who all told me, «nope; I don’t have it and I can’t get it” – that there were none in the state and none coming in.
After being told «no» several times, I decided it was worth the distance to see if Yuba City H-​D could help. Joe was out but I spoke with Jim in Sales, who said he didn’t have what I wanted – BUT THAT THERE WERE THREE IN THE STATE (with CA emissions). He said he would call me right back and, true to his word, he did – and four days later, much soner than I expected, I rode out of the parking lot on my dream bike.
Yuba City H-​D exceeded my expectations – by miles and miles. They went over and above – twice – and both interations/​transactions could not have gone more smoothly or easily.

I wouldn’t call this a friendly place overall, and if you order something don’t expect anyone to call you when it comes in. Check back every few days to see if it came in. My experience was negative. Maybe yours will be better. Good luck.

We stopped here on a ride at closing time. The placed was locked. It was 110 degrees and we were hot. We just needed water and a restroom.
J.R. saw us as he was going to leave and asked if we needed anything. He opened the place up, let us get water and use the restroom. and wanted to talk about our ride even though it was closing on a Friday night.
That was really a cool thing to do. We wanted to give a big shout to the dealership and J.R. for helping us out.
