We have been to this place twice in a month for breakfast. The first time was okay(nothing to get excited about). The last time was a disaster and we will NEVER return. First off, my breakfast was lukewarm… everything on my plate. I had to go track down a waitress. I told her my food was cold. There were no apologies, no asking what she could do to make it better… she simply took the plate back and was back shortly. All that had been done was that they microwaved my food(I could tell because the ketchup I’d put on the country potatoes was still there). I told her I didn’t want it… that I had expected all new food… and that I’d just eat the cold toast that had come with my breakfast. My husband finished eating and we sat around waiting for our bill. We had to track down the waitress again(yes I had to get out of my seat twice). I was appalled that all she had done was removed the breakfast from our bill(while charging me for the cold toast). I am absolutely livid that nothing at all was done to make sure my visit was okay… no apologies, no asking what I would like to make things right, no visit from a manager, and no money off the bill for my inconvenience. Plus I had to track down our waitress TWICE. We won’t go here again.

Twice my wife and I have eaten here on a Friday evening. Both times I have never had such great food and service… The waitresses were very accommodating, our drinks never empty and food has tasted great with good portions. It has been a real pleasure being treated so well by staff, especially on a Friday evening. Keep up the awesome work!

Disgusting food, bad service, and uncomfortable seating! I remember my first visit a couple years ago, the steak and eggs tasted terrible, overcooked meat, and burnt grill flavor! The kindness in me wanted to give Perko’s another try since I was in the area! It was busy and as I looked around, I only saw many elderly people, no one young or my age(which is probably a sign I shouldn’t be there). So, I came in today and their menu looked very appealing. I guess I had high hopes. I saw this nice picture of the Crab cakes Benedict, and I told the lady I wanted that, with a SIDE of Hollandaise sauce, and a SIDE of country potatoes. Well, unfortunately she misunderstood me and partly could be my fault for wanting what I saw in the picture advertised in menu! The picture came with fruit cup!!! She brought out my food after some time waiting… The plate was wrong and had hashbrowns on it. So she went back to the kitchen. Then here comes the second plate, which did not look pretty at all compared to the picture and NO fruit!!! I asked her where is the fruit and she said she thought I wanted potatoes. I said, No, I wanted the fruit too, and potatoes on the side on a separate plate. I never got the fruit and I left within 5 minutes of receiving my food. I tasted the potatoes and they were gross, yuck. I took a couple bites of one Crab cake Benedict. I left 95% of my food untouched, got up and paid at the Register, and got the hell out of there! Waste of money, but whatever. I drove straight to Chili’s and got great customer service and way better food! Never ever going back to Perko’s, which has left a BAD taste in my mouth twice now.

Ordinarily, breakfast is of reasonable quality. Today, I ordered a waffle combo. Big mistake. The waffle tasted terrible and I could not eat it. The problem may have been over cooked. It looked like something was wrong with it when they brought it to me. Texture was hard and looked slightly burned. I guess the policy is when the cook makes a mistake, they just serve it anyway and see what happens. My personal policy is to not complain or send food back because I dont want the cook to try and exact revenge.(Not saying Perkos would specifically do that but I never take the chance). Perko’s has gotten their last dollar from me, as I will not be returning. If you go there, stay away from the waffles.

I loved the service, the waitress was very nice and accommodating. I had a long day at work and it felt great that She refilled my coffee cup 3 times. The food was excellent, the meat was cooked exactly the way I ordered it. I will definitely come back when I am in the area

Very disappointing dinner :( Ordered the Tri-tip. It was dry and over cooked — left most of the meat on my plate told the waitress and she said she would let them know. Went to pay my bill and was asked again how the meal was and told them it was overcooked and dry — left most of it on my plate. They never offered to remedy the cardboard tri tip issue — I paid my bill in full and walked out the door shaking my head. This was the first and last time I will ever come to this place — sad because the people seemed very nice and full of locals

Stay away from the French toast, not worth the price and the bread is super thin. :( The service was fast and friendly but the food was bland. No wonder I always forget about this place. Plus my spoon was dirty.

I came with family one morning to eat before going to see an early movie. We were worried about getting to the theater late, so we chose Perkos because it was the least crowded restaurant nearby. Despite not being crowded, the waitress took forever to get to us with menus. When we ordered water and coffee, it took so long for her to bring the drinks to us, we practically had to get them ourselves from the kitchen. After ordering overpriced pancakes a la carte, I noticed other menus sitting on the other tables that didn’t look like the ones we got. I went to get one and it had specials on it, like pancake meal deals for way better prices. If the waitress had actually brought us one, we would have ordered those instead and saved money, but it was too late. I wish I could at least say the food was good, but it was not. Everything tasted like it had come out of a freezer, and the syrup and butter were both artificial/low quality. I don’t know about most people, but I don’t like paying for fake chemicals when I can have real food instead, especially at a restaurant. The only reason I give them 2 stars is because the bathrooms were nice and the coffee was good, even if it took forever. I will not come back here again.

I went over there today with three of my friends. I ordered pancakes, country spuds, ham and a spinach/cheese omelet. The omelet didn’t taste very well and neither did the potatoes. The potatoes were not seasoned properly. And, while the server was friendly, it took her a pretty long time to bring me the peanut butter I had asked for to go with my pancakes. Definitely not worth the money spent.

The food is yummy and they give you a ton of it. The service is always wonderful and fast. When we are in the mood for good American food this is where we go. The chickens I the parking lot are really cute.

Ok. I had a few complaints about this place. 1) the service was really slow and our waitress was very forgettable. It was a little busy but still… Come on man! 2) there literally were chickens and roosters outside of the restaurant just hanging out. I’m personally not a big fan of that… Kinda grimy. Anyways, on to the food! I ordered the corn beef hash and eggs. I have had my fair share of CBH and this dish wasn’t all that great. The corn beef came from a can and the hash browns were kinda soggy. My toast and eggs were pretty good but who can mess up toast and eggs? The folks I came with also weren’t pleased with their breakfast. Something about the sausages tasted like paper, the pancakes being dry? Idk. I shoulda ordered a burger…

Definitely a nice little spot to get a decent breakfast. It’s a nice country themed restaurant, but city folk such as myself find it surprising to see chickens and roosters making their nest in the bushes outside! The food is decent, my fiancé likes the potato pancakes, but make sure they are cooked to be crispy, otherwise they are not that impressive. I had the Chicken fried steak which is just pre-made and fried there, but still pretty decent. The highlight of my breakfast was definitely the biscuits in my biscuits and gravy!

Nothing spectacular, but not awful either and above the average offering in the yuba sutter area. Service is good, food and coffee will be hot. Its a safe bet for food, especially breakfast if the point of your outing is less, about the food and more about spending time with friends and family.

Not the best food in town but far from the worst. The food is getting better and the breakfast combos are a good deal. The service is great. The waiters are attentive and the restrooms are clean. I won’t eat in a place I won’t pee in.

Have only gotten food to go at this location and while it always tastes great, they have made some mistakes. The first time they gave me too much food, though I not complaining about that. However the next time i went, I actually was shorted some strips of bacon that I ordered and paid for. So even though the food is good, they definitely have a breakdown of communication at some point when putting the orders together. Still, I would come back, I just may do a better job of checking my order before I head home.

This is the second time coming back to Perko’s since they re-opened. They re-painted and re-decorated the place with to give a clean wholesome family diner look and feel including the retro pictures of old farm fruit signs and tractors. The staff is very friendly and always seem to accomodate anything that you need. I took my daughter with me to enjoy a saturday afternoon lunch. Big bonus, kids meals are .99 total when you order an adult meal. I ordered the turkey melt(turkey, avocado, tomatoes grilled on sour dough bread) with sweet potato fries(Yummy Yummy). My daughter ordered chicken strips with fries. The food tasted fresh and cooked just right. Perko’s has a wide range of american food including great desserts. A good place to get away from all the noise and relax while stuffing the face to the bellies content. Want a place to eat without the wait, Perko’s is your place. Definitely a place I will come back to…

We went here last night for a very late«dinner». I like the fact that they close at 11pm on a Friday night. I got the french toast combo, and it was excellent. My scrambled eggs were fluffy and didn’t taste like they were cooked on a grill that had just been cooking other foods, like a lot of the other eateries in town that offer breakfast anytime. My son got a strawberry shake and it was fabulous. Hand-scooped, and loaded with strawberries. The service was friendly and prompt. The waitress even asked me if it was ok if my son had a refill on his Sierra Mist. I thought that was pretty nice. The prices are very reasonable, and with such nice service, we’ll be back.
