Expensive for breakfast. Very busy place. Actually, lunch is pricy also for the type of food they serve.

Tasty but expensive. The Ka-boom was naked, no salad and yet with one tap beer during happy hour the bill +$ 20.

We like dropping by for happy hour. For right around 20.00 two people can get a personal two topping pizza a basket of chips & salsa and a beer. The bar can get crowded at happy hour so we choose to sit in the little side area off the bar.

Our waiter Melissa is always super friendly and our service is great. Me and my boyfriend love breakfast and have been coming here for the past 3 years and it’s out favorite. From french toast, a café creation omelette or eggs benedict, everything is delicious. Definitely the best restaurant in yuba city. Dinner is really good too.

I believe this is a very nice restaurant. However, the evening that my husband and I decided to have dinner there for the first time I ordered the chicken parmesan and it was absolutely not worth the price! It had no flavor at all. I don’t know if that’s how it is supposed to taste or if the chef was just a little careless that evening! It did have a great comfy setup and the staff was very attentive and nice.

First of all, options are slim for nice restaurants in Yuba City. I came here for Happy Hour and was not disappointed at all! Their food was very tasty, especially for the price! Dallace, Kristal, Mary, and Alicia were all very friendly… Well, actually everyone was super friendly, but those are the names of the women who helped me. I definitely recommend coming here. Relaxing environment, great company.

Great place to go if you want somewhere quiet and clean to eat! The Kaboom pasta is spicy, and delicious! The pizza is also another great choice!

Came in on Monday evening early enough to remember that there was a happy hour here. We were seated quickly and upon asking about the happy hour, were told that it was indeed true. There are no signage nor were we told about it for this encounter. I dont know how we would have been charged for our drinks and only certain drinks and beers qualify from my last experience. Thats actually all fine and good with me; thats why I asked. Our server came back quickly with our drinks and asked if we were ready to order. We asked for a minute more and she did come back within a couple minutes to take our order. The place was not busy except for the few stools in the bar, there were maybe four tables dining. We ordered onion rings and for dinner we decided on a large, what is called ‘café pizza’, basically a combo pizza. I specifically asked as I do at every with every pizza I order, «please no onion except green onion»… Even more specific to the server, because sometimes they dont understand I guess; «please, no red onion, no yellow onion, no white onion. Green onion OK» She replied that she got it and understood. Fine. Soon our ONIONRINGS come out.(yes, I know, its just the way Im wired) brought out by a different server. My wife had asked for ranch dressing for the onion rings and this new server did quickly oblige. We knew our pizza couldnt be too far behind and being the tight wad I am knowing happy hour was almost over, we finished our drinks for a re-order. With the empty platter that the onion rings had come on, our two dry glasses and bar prices about to double, 10 minutes was long enough and I decided we’d better flag someone down. The fellow that brought the onion rings was summoned. He asked what we were having and said he’d be right back. Another 10 minutes go by and here comes the pizza. One look told me that the damn thing was chock full of little tiny red onion and no green onion. I called whom apparently was our new server on it and he asked if I wanted him to take it back. I told him no, it took too long to get this one and Id just pick ‘em off. I proceeded to do so and with the first bite every damn thing on the slice fell off onto the plate except for the cheese and sauce! What the hell, I thought. It seemed that the pizza had been at least partially cooked before the other toppings had been put on! I think somebody back there needs to go to pizza school. Well, needless to say I was real dang thirsty at this point as now it had been a full 20 minutes since we last ordered drinks. At this point, our original server comes back and asks if everything was good. I told her in fact no, it wasnt, I was having a hellofa time choking this onion pizza down with no beer that I ordered 20 minutes earlier from her counter-part. Within a minute, she had our drinks and my wife being almost as upset as I was, asked for a box. She quickly brought the said box and it was then that I stopped her and told her to look at the pizza that was brought. I said, «do you see all of those nasty onions I asked you to not have put on there?» She said she did and then proceeded to show me her electronic ticket order thing and says«look, I wrote no white onions!» To make a long story a little more tedious, in the end, I was charged happy hour prices for all the drink and she took an inexplicable $ 13.99 off the pizza(about 63%?) I would say that I may come back to The Dancing Tomato, but I would have to be almost out of options. It was still 100% better than the terrible Mexican place on 99 and Bridge St and 75% better than the awful not so «Cool Hand» kangaroo steak place in town. Ill NEVER go back to either one of those — Hey! a 3 for 1 review here!

Went for lunch. Ordered the Italian meatball sandwich(8.99), plus peppers and onions(0.99), and a cup of minestrone soup(2.99 w/sandwich). The soup was good and flavorful. Lots of vegetables: tomato, carrot, celery, zucchini, garbanzo bean, kidney beans. And they were plentiful, not like other soups that are mostly broth and have she’ll noodle as filler. There were no noodles in this soup. Would have liked to add Parmesan cheese on top but it was still good without out. The cracker basket was packed TIGHT with crackers, after I broke the first pack free the rest came easier. Sausage sandwich came, but I ordered meatball. It was fixed within minutes. I was expecting green bell peppers and onions, it goes with the sandwich and the Italian flag, but it came with red bells. It made the sandwich sweeter. The meatballs were good, not all breadcrumb and sparse meat. The sauce was a little thicker than marinara, more like a chili consistency but it was tomatoey and good. This sandwich is messy to eat, and the server brought extra napkins when she put it down. I like a competent & anticipatory wait staff. I ordered a cappuccino. The picture showed it cinnamon topped. Mine came plain, but after the sandwich issue I didn’t want to ask for cinnamon. This place can make a cappuccino… they got the ratio right! Other places try to pass off a latte with a foam hat, but this was espresso with a little steamed milk and frothy foam. I wasn’t rushed out the door and total bill came to $ 17.34 and then the tip. It’s pretty good here, definitely get the minestrone. And the played good tunes.

This place BLOWS @ best, never been impressed here. Today I just waited for 30 min for a table, even longer for food… No Ginger Ale or Cottage cheese, so naturally I don’t come here often, enough to know I’d rather eat from the hospital dumpster than come back.

One of my favorite things about DTC is their monthly specials. I always look forward to seeing what they post online, and whoever does their website, does a fantastic job!!! Plus their menu is very creative and they come up with fresh new ideas, it’s appealing for me to always try something different here! I have tried many specials over the past two years and for October 2015, it was the first time I noticed Lobster Benedict and Lobster mac and cheese! Wow, yep I am definitely trying those… When I first started dining here, I usually came in for lunch, then I finally tried their Breakfast. Loved the breakfast immediately and hence I keep coming back as a regular customer… This morning I came in because I knew I wanted to order the Lobster Benedict and also I had my Birthday coupon. Thank you very much for sending me the Birthday postcard :) Customer service was friendly. I ordered the Lobster Benedict with extra crispy Hashbrowns. My food tasted great! I really enjoyed the Lobster, poached eggs were perfect as always, Hashbrowns came out to my liking! I left full and satisfied. The restaurant sure looks wonderful with all the cute Halloween and Fall decorations!

Having to be in Yuba City we decided to stop here for lunch. The service was OK. We ordered the hamburger & fries special. I ordered the Gardenburger, however it was more like a black bean burger, which I don’t care for. Had the menu said«black bean burger» I would not have ordered it. Sigh. The other thing I was disappointed in is the burger sandwiches had shredded lettuce on them. Shredded lettuce on a burger? It just doesn’t work unless you enjoy playing with your food as you eat. I much prefer the crunch of the lettuce as you eat a burger. I will say the thousand Island dressing I requested as a sauce for the burger was really good. The hubster ordered the regular burger and fries. The burger was a little tough. He requested the fries to be extra crispy. When they came to the table they were anything but extra crispy. So he returned them in hopes that they would come back extra crispy. They came back not much different than the first time. A gal did come out from the back to say they had new oil in the fryer and they recognized the fries were not what they should’ve been so they took them off of the bill. To that we were grateful. I’m hopeful they’ll figure their fryer out! Enough about the burgers. Let’s move onto dessert. Chocolate Lasagna. It was warm which was nice. However, I think it was put into the microwave which made it a little tough to chew; and the ice cream tasted grainy like it may have been melted, formed into a square to fit the top of the«brownie», then refroze. The top of the brownie had what appeared to be sweetened condensed milk mixed with coconut. The whole thing was then topped with whipped cream and a drizzle of chocolate. Would I get it again? Probably not. Not a bad little café. I may return and try something different. On a high note? The sweet potato fries were good!

Absolutely horrible customer service from the assistant manager! My order was completely wrong and it took another 30 minutes to fix it! There was a long hair in my drink! Eeew! Assistant manager did nothing to accommodate the poor experience I had!

I really wanted to like this place, but the service was lacking and the food was not worth the price. My wife and I went for lunch I had a steak my wife had penne for the price I was expecting good food but got mediocre at best. If the service would have been better it may have not been so bad, but after three mistakes on our order and the long wait time I could only give two stars. I would say give it a try but don’t get your hopes up.

I’ve travelled wide and far, well if you consider Auburn, Paradise, Chico and Orland wide and far. It’s my box and I don’t want to break out of it too much too fast. Little did I know that I could have stayed close to home in greater downtown Yuba City and expanded my culinary horizons right here at the Dancing Tomato Caffè. A friend recommended the Rustic Penne Pasta and I was not dissappointed. The evening was made even more enjoyable by the witty banter of Mary the jovial bartender who makes sure all her patrons have an enjoyable time. Char you sure can pick them.

The Dancing Tomato is a great local business to support. I had the ravioli mixed cheese and veg filling with the pesto sauce. Delicious on and a nice amount of pesto. My husband had the lasagna. He liked the generous portion. We had the chocolate lasagna for dessert. Wow that was amazing has a mounds bar like extra thick Crust with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and chocolate syrup. Very decadent but perfect to share between two people. Definitely will be coming back. I feel Much better supporting a local business than a chain such as Olive Garden. Be advised of a couple recent reviewers are off their rocker. Makes me wonder if they recently went to Italy and came back with a distorted view of what Italian food should be like in the U.S. Keep in mind the Dancing Tomato Café is an interpretation of Italian American food. BIG difference. Many other ethnic cuisines have this happen to.

In Yuba city there aren’t many option to choose from, but I remembered this place existing. I hadn’t been back for about 7 years. We were greeted but a young lady, Dalice, who seemed nice but was flirting with the guy at our table. She kept using strange verbiage that seemed in inappropriate. «What else do you desire??» We all looked at her like she was crazy? Who says that? The food was just ok, not as good as I remembered. Greasy, oily and overpriced for what you get. Nothing special and it was a close to the pre cooked, frozen food they serve at Olive Garden.

Great breakfast service! You also get to enjoy the soft music from yesteryear playing in the background while you have a feast. I’ve had the following so far… *Crab Cake Benedict: It was delicious, but there wasn’t enough crab meat to enjoy. It was a thin crab cake, but I like that it was crispy and a little crunchy because it wasn’t mushy all the way through. The hollandaise, however, was a bit thick and heavy. *Asparagus Benedict: This dish is seasonal, but it needs to be axed from the side menu. I love asparagus, but not for an Eggs Benedict. I do appreciate that the hollandaise was thinned out as I requested because it made a difference in the dish. *Denver Omelet: Ordered this to go for a family member, and it was enjoyed with an average rating received. *Belgian Waffle: Ordered to go as well with the same result. Overall, I’ll give this place 3.5 stars.
