Great place, home run. Rockin’ good time. Don’t worry about not having hash brown, roarin home style potatoes. Don’t forget to ask for the verde salsa.

My husband has been going here since Carla took over the business. We share homes here & in Vegas so we’ve had our share of good places to eat. Every time we go here we love it. We have both sampled a lot of the menu. The place is clean & the food is great. Unfortunately EVERY eating establishment gets their share of nasty, low end customers. I am recommending this place to my friends & family alike. Two thumbs up.

Had to box up breakfast. Heavy duty garlic on everything. Only thing good was the toast. Fake scrambled eggs, plastic looking bacon with no flavor, and heavy duty fried garlicy potatoes served cold. Gross wont go back

I was supremely impressed with their service and food was superb. Surprisingly this was my first time here. This diner felt so welcoming and was very clean. Prices were great and I will gladly swing by again!

Typical yucca valley place!!! Nothing worth mentioning. Got a simple grilled cheese and they served it burnt. I told the waitress it’s really dark and she told me that’s how they make it. It’s called a grilled cheese not a black burnt cheese!!! If you can’t make a grilled cheese there is no need for me to come back and check out anything else!!!

This is my favorite place to eat out in Yucca Valley. Great breakfast, and burgers that are so juicy they run down your arm to your elbow. Very friendly staff, including the cooks.

Service was okay. She never asked how are food was after we got it. Bacon was extra crispy. 10 $ min with card. They made a mistake on our payment and two employees were arguing. Food wasn’t terrible but over all experience wasn’t that great.

Wanted to try something local since we have been here for a couple months now and only eaten fast food or made dinner at home. So we went for lunch around 2 on a Sunday. We were immediately greeted and told to seat ourselves. We picked a booth and were immediately after handed menus and our drink order was taken. Very orderly and the drinks came to us within minutes and our waitress came and gave us a few minutes. So much to choose from! So I decided on the French dip. Not only is the décor cute, but the whole place has such a great feel. We felt nothing less of welcomed! The food came out quickly and the waitress was on top refills and asking if we needed anything and how to food was. The food itself was amazing. It was nice and hot and the fries were fresh and tasted fantastic. The bun was crisp around the edges and soft inside and the Au jus was just perfect. Not too salty but flavorful. I am definitely coming back in the future. And if you have a motorcycle, they have plenty of motorcycle only designated parking! Great for a Sunday drive and stop in for breakfast or lunch! An absolutely lovely place with kind people. Have to go back for breakfast, maybe a waffle and some coffee!

The food is good. We had great service. Help by a nice blonde lady who took the time to greet my 2 yr old. She would come by and give us more coffe ask if we needed anything. She was helpfull. Love the look of the restaurant 1950s. Prices are a bit high for what they are serving. Its clean and easy parking.

No. Carla needs to eat here and get the cooks to step up. First when I got my own menu and seated myself, I grabbed the extra napkin and pushed the rest of the extra set up away so that I wouldn’t soil it. A waitress grabbed it away like I was stealing something, with no greeting and only a scowl. A nice blonde waitress came up and took my order. A waffle, coffee, bacon and 2 over medium eggs with cottage fries The coffee was okay, kind of stale. The waffle was most probably made with pancake batter. Not light at all. Clunky, the syrup was low grade and runny. I took one bite of the potatoes and they were barely tepid and had sat around too long. The eggs were good, cooked well, but the bacon(I know that nobody makes bacon to order, But this,) had been cooked then sat way to long. It was probably at one point crispy, but now, was just hard. The blonde waitress was nice, but the other one, no thanks, she had a hard time even being polite to her tables. Get a different job if you hate this one. I will not be back. there is another place on the same side of the street that is way better.

DONOTGO! I’ve been here, the food is eh, the coffee eh, but the owner OMG is RUDE! And now I find out she yelled at a friend and their family because their baby woke up and screeched in laughter! Yes, the owner Carla yelled at a BABY! The family quickly gathered their things and was leaving and Carla made them PAY for a meal they never got! NEVER going to go there and will tell everyone I know not to go. DONOTGO!

Very good breakfast! Haven’t been here since it was part of Hutchins Harley Davidson. It’s still pretty much the same on the inside(1950’s style American diner) and now the back area has additional seating. Nice and clean too. I had the homemade corned beef hash, eggs over-easy and home fries. Carla was there and very attentive. We’ll be back !

Was not tasty. The veggie burger is meat substitute(like boca) rather than made w rice/veggies/beans. I couldn’t eat it. The fries weren’t very good either. The service was really great though.

The food here is, in fact, pretty good, although maybe not the best value. The rating reflects the attitude and lack of customer service we have encountered far more than the food itself. I really thought this place would be good. They actually use fresh decent ingredients which is not as easy to find as it should be in YV. They have a delicious omelet called The Pile Up. I am on a diet, mandated by my health, that doesn’t allow me to eat grains, heavily processed food, starchy foods or refined sugar. This can be a challenge eating out, but usually at a breakfast diner they have various side options that I can make work. Just to illustrate that what I am asking for is not outrageous, while I prefer to support local places, Ruby’s Diner manages to give me a HUGE omelet stuffed with high quality fresh ingredients, a bed of several tomato slices in place of potatoes and a bowl of fresh cut fruit in place of toast. It is the equivalent to the amount of food you get if you order it with toast and potatoes, as it should be for the same price. I can’t even eat it all and this costs somewhere around $ 11, IIRC. I can even get a full meal at Denny’s for about $ 10 or less with healthy ingredients like fresh spinach and tomatoes. No, I don’t love Denny’s, but I will go there or cook myself before I or my husband will give this place another penny. We tried Carla’s several weeks ago because the omelet sounded really good to me and I had sadly encountered processed cheese and canned fruit at C & S, so the ingredients sounded promising. They charge $ 12 for the omelets with three meats and vegetables in them. You can get one with only cheese for $ 6.50 or only sausage or bacon and cheese for $ 7.50 but I want the vegetables. I would be happy with something in between with just sausage and veggies maybe, but the $ 12 ones are good omelets. This is definitely on the high end of pricing for an omelet that isn’t lobster stuffed or something, but it would be more justifiable for the full breakfast with toast and potatoes, though still on the high end, especially for this town, especially considering the cost of most of the breakfast ingredients. We’re not at the beach or downtown in a city! I’m pretty sure I’ve had Lobster Benedict at the beach for about that price, but I digress. They said they could do the fruit and tomatoes, but when I got my food, I had one delicious but not as large as Ruby’s omelet, two slices of tomato, and a small styrofoam cup which was only maybe ¼ full with some bits of(fresh at least) pineapple. These items were ridiculous as sides that were supposed to replace a pile of potatoes and stack of toast. Eating fruits and vegetables doesn’t mean I have the appetite of a rabbit, and it made the price of the meal seem very excessive. Due to lack of options in YV and not really wanting to resort to a chain, we decided to give it another try a couple of weeks later, but maybe try to work with the fact that they don’t substitute things very well and try ordering the omelet a la carte. My husband called ahead to order. They told him that they could do that for a dollar less. Seriously? An a la carte omelet is $ 11? Is this overpriced room service? It’s better quality sausage/bacon than average(still not THAT expensive) and actual cheese, but come on! So we opted to try subbing tomatoes again instead of saving a whole dollar so I could have a little more food. He mentioned that there were only two slices last time so asked if it could be a bit more to substitute both the toast and potatoes, and didn’t even bother asking for fruit this time as the pineapple had been just humorous as a «side of fruit.» When he arrived to pick up the food, the order wasn’t correct. He had ordered the side of two biscuits and gravy and was only given one. He asked for the other biscuit, and they tried to charge him $ 2.50 twice. They are $ 2.50 each, or $ 4.50 for two. When he pointed out the error in overcharging him and asked it be corrected, the woman at the register seemed highly annoyed with him(why I have no idea, he was just a paying customer trying to get his order right) and made a loud sighing noise at him to make sure her annoyance with doing her job was very clear to the customer. The whole experience and attitude was very bad, so at the end he asked her for her name so he could include it in the Unilocal review. He said she hesitated awhile and then said in a very nasty tone, «It’s Tammy, and please do!» Ok Tammy, sorry life has been a little busy, but since you said please and all I’m finally getting to it and wouldn’t dream of leaving you out. I really hope Carla sees this and responds accordingly to learning about this horrible customer service. This time, my omelet was again good, but not terribly large, and I got THREE slices of tomato. Just not worth it. I might have caved and overpaid for one occasionally, but to add in the rude«service» just makes it completely unpalatable to return at all. Sad.

This place is too cute! Not only is the staff extremely helpful and sweet but the food is delicious. What a great place to come for breakfast in the sun! We had the Chubby Buddy Breakfast and the Huevos Rancheros! Our food came out very fast and reminded my husband and I of the good hearty meals we used to have in Boston! We will most defiantly be back!
