Hoodoo rules! It’s my favorite store in town. Records, comics, tikis! Scott is awesome and he knows what he’s talking about. New records are sorta specialized in weird, avant-, outsider, alternative,… Etc. And his used section is constantly updated and there are always sweet finds. He’s got super hero comics, underground alternative comics, graphic novels, etc. Look, the place is awesome just check it out.

Great store with lots of gems. I live nearby and pop in often, there’s always something worth stopping by for. Scott is the just a super interesting guy and very knowledgable in all types of records. He prices very fairly and is a stand-up type of guy. Stop in, you’ll be glad that you did!

Made it a point to check this spot out after a weekend of camping in Joshua Tree. Was not disappointed. Great atmosphere. Great selection of records. Great prices. Scott was super cool and extremely knowledgable about the records(considering many of them were a part of his personal collection). It’s really a dream for diggers. Each section is full of new, obscure, and necessary gems you didn’t know you absolutely needed. Whenever I’m doing another weekend in Joshua Tree I am DEFINITELY coming back and dropping an irresponsible amount of cash on this eclectic collection of records and you should too.

thanks, Scott, your store was impressive and your service impeccable! You know your stuff. I am always happy to find new stuff on vinyl, and this was a good shopping experience! A large rock/pop section is the way to start, and you have unique sections on lounge, beach, jazz, and etc., too. There is a neat supply of art, and a variety of cool books. Always glad to see Hellboy!

Much better location now in Old Town Yucca, near all the antique stores. Sometimes interesting stores have snotty employees, not this store. The woman working was not pushy. She was very freindly and knowledable. I found a Tim Curry record for cheap. No scratches! This store sells fun stuff. They have jewelry, comics, manga, records, accesories, t shirts, action figures and other fun finds. I love the organ counter! Good music in the background too.

Rad, what a hidden gem in the High desert… We stumbled upon this store after a day of checking out the antique stores in the area, needless to say we were pleasantly surprised! The owner is rad and they have a really eclectic mix of records, shirts, art, comics, books and more. We can’t wait to check them out next time we are in the area!

What a fabulous find! Hubby and I found Hoodoo on the westward-bound end of our almost two week road trip. We found ourselves in Yucca Valley due to Rte. 66 detours at Essex and Cadiz. But Hubby was magically drawn to that Hoodoo ad: Tiki in the middle of the desert?! What’s going on here?! At Hoodoo, you’ll find an eclectic collection of nifty tiki-ana, comics and graphic novels, vinyl albums. We found SO many«OMG! I had this — or wanted this — when!!!» albums! SUPER super cool mid-twentieth-century pulp fiction posters(got one!), and gotta-have-it local artist work. I mean, Tiki masks? Tiki dishes? Big Foot Action Figures? A Nina Hagen Album I couldn’t afford in high school?(Got it!) Super cute little rock-a-billy aprons?(Got one!) In ONE store?! If you’re lucky enough to be there, as we were, when owner Scott Wexton is onsite, you’ll find a host who can be completely low-key and hands-off if you wish. Or, a very informed consultant, worthy of Antiques Roadshow. Or, if you ask very plainly, he’ll reveal he’s The Voodoo Organist. I know there are other words besides ‘cool’, but, cool x infinity! Most of all, though, Mr. Dawn D. and I drove away from Hoodoo feeling it was one of the most intriguing places we’d been, and that Mr. Scott Wexler was one of the most interesting and engaging people we’d met on this trip. And: we’ll be back!

All I can say is that this place is cool. Really cool. If you like rockabilly, rock n roll, tiki and general funky awesomeness then you gotta go here. Bettie Page shirts, Johnny Cash shirt, PBR hair flowers, patches, graphic novels and lots of swell tiki stuff! Great prices! The owner was really cool, and you can tell he digs what he sells.

This place is really cool. Reminds me of a place called WACKO in Los Angeles but out in the desert. Really really unique books, art, gifts and comics. Seriously, this is a must visit if you are out in the desert.

Awesome new location on the main Highway and a great selection of unusual items. Tikis, comics, clothing and other art. A neat store located in a town that really needs a place like this. Go check it out!

Went to this place last year, the owners are very cool, I great tee shirts and other quirky items, tiki stuff, hoodoo and voodoo, it is a magical place and the prices are good. DOn’t miss it if you are driving by. Yucca valley is a bit out of the way but it is a mystical place. I am headed back in the next month. YEE ha.

Coolest stuff in the desert, and amazing owners to boot– not to mention the best band shirts, comics, doodads and whatnots from sea to shining sea. Their custom furniture is beyond rad, and someday I will furnish my house with all of it. haha. I highly recommend this shop!
