Been there at 8:30am on a weekday and a weekend. Both times the case was full, service was friendly, and tables were filled with happy patrons. Tried the buttermilk bar, vanilla iced cake and glazed twist. All were well-cooked and tasted like real ingredients. Not sure what the bad reviews are all about …

Stopped here while driving through it’s a Creepy looking place, very outdated. Donuts were dry and stale, gross. On the cake donuts wee heavy loaded in grease. Never again.

Their apple fritter is YUMMY! The coffee is also a favorite. This is a hole in the wall type of establishment… a little TLC to the inside of the shop would be great… nothing fancy just clean it up and remove that ATM machine and any other nonfunctioning eyesore. Try to make it to the shop before 1pm for those tasty apple fritters.

I have only been there once, but I’m a fan. I have driven by this place a bazillion times but never had the cajones to stop. On this particular day however, I had already gotten my 5 miles in and decided it was time. The Jelly Donut didn’t disappoint! I got the chocolate covered, Bavarian crème filled and it was dee lish ussssss. I would prefer to have had one with no chocolate but then I should have gotten there earlier, huh? It was 3 in the afternoon and some of trays were empty but there was still a decent selection. I’m knocking off one star because they seriously need to update.(C’mon man! Pride in ownership?) I think I might go back today…

Go visit Art and his family at this awesome joint. He was very kind and the donuts are delicious. It’s nothing glamorous and some of the popular donuts go quickly. We tried their red, white and blue sprinkle donut and their blue berry cake donut. Both amazing, fresh, delicious.

This is the only donut place around. All the donuts look the same. I got a maple bar and a crueller. The girl was fine but not change in the drawer for a $ 10! Sje goes amd gets the owner who never even puts his phone down. The place is dirty. Blender broken and and excuse taped to the wall why they won’t upgrade to take secure credit cards. I leave and take a bite of the maple bar. It is bland and under cooked, doughy. Yuck I bite into the crueller. It too is under cooked but its mostly air. Don’t waste your time or money here.

Not awful but not amazing. Edible, my uncle put his in the microwave for 10 seconds and said they are better that way. We live in Ventura which is North 3 hours and a beach town. We pay $ 8 a dozen for basic flavors in our town and the donuts are AMAZING. We paid $ 10.+ here and they are so so…

It’s a little hole in the wall, local donut shop. No wifi, no haiku spouting hippy in the corner. But nice, fresh donuts and consistent friendly courteous service. I’ve ordered donuts in advance by the dozens for work functions multiple times and showed up at 6:00 or 6:30 and they’ve always been there waiting for me, exactly as I ordered(I always get them heavy on the chocolate side and I appreciate how they give me a nice assorted selection). Also, they make TONS of donuts. So if you go anytime in the morning, expect to see at least 9 – 10 dozen assorted donuts in the case. Good Hot coffee and priced nicely too. Often I eat my donut(s) there and if I’m lucky, get to eves drop on a table of old locals and learn a thing or two about the area.

Have to say that these small hole in the wall donut shops are disappearing so quickly. Im glad that are still in business and always stop in on our way to Palm Springs! Their Donuts are delicious and cant wait till we go back

Totally love the custard filled, the donut holes, and pretty much everything else. The apple fritters are pretty good too. The employees are pretty nice and the prices are about right. We stop by here at least once a week.

Rating this compared to what it used to be back-in-the-day. USEDTO have the best apple fritters anywhere and open 24⁄7. Now, set hours and usually only 2 trays of donuts with only 2 or 3 options, none of them apple fritters. Went in and walked out three different days at 3 different times. We weren’t the only ones that peaked in and then left. Third day asked the clerk why no fritters. She said they were expensive to make and they usually had to throw them out end of the day. Decided to try the options available. Really dirty place. Hasn’t been updated in … ever? In a very run down mall. Might be good for locals if they didn’t charge tourist prices. For a jelly donut, a cinnamon bun(fancy?), and a chocolate milk $ 5.40. That is high end for San Diego… let alone middle of nowhere. I suppose justified if it wasn’t so run down and dirty. But the clerk was nice and the donuts were good.

Love this place! The cinnamon rolls, however, seem to be soaked in grease.(Tasty but I don’t recommend these). They taste like something you would get on a carnival midway. A few bites and your stomach will ache all morning!

I just moved here 2 weeks ago & I’ve been wanting to give this place a try since spotting it. SO glad I listened to the positive reviews! The Apple fritter is indeed amazing & I generally hate pieces of cooked fruit in my food. It’s heaven from the 1st bite, though very sweet & rich I’ll be honest. The jelly donut is OK but not the best. It’s more of a mini pound cake with jelly almost. Go for the apple fritter or I’m sure one of the plain sugared or frosted would be great. Also, for a bigger variety, go in the morning.

The donuts were literally soaked in grease, heavy with it. They were the worst donuts we’ve ever had! Were they having a bad day? I hope so. I can’t imagine how they would stay in business, otherwise.

Pretty good. I soooo want to LOVE the Jelly Donut, but so far I’m only so-so on it. I’m getting married in the Pioneertown area and have been spending a lot of time out here lately. One of my vendors is around the corner from this place and on my most recent wedding planning outings I was actually able to successfully resist the temptation of their donuts… and, seriously, I have a MAJOR sweet tooth… I normally LOVE donuts. Anyways, I was able to resist which tells me I’m either not getting that yummy gooey feeling inside about these donuts OR my will power is increasing(probably NOT the latter…). I’ve tried several donuts from here and so far… just feeling like they are okay. I’ve had glazed, chocolate bars, jelly filled(blueberry, lemon, custard, raspberry). Maybe I am just having some bad luck or timing or who knows. Lot of people seem to swear by this place. Despite my lackluster experiences, I would not turn down a donut from this place if someone offered. And I am going to keep trying this place out. Pros: Open in the afternoon, parking, lots of variety. Cons: Language barriers with staff, semi-creepy old dudes hanging out all the time.

Now this is more like it. Much better than the one in Twentynine palms. Maybe it’s th location? or higher clientèle? who know but I came in here expecting some mediocre crap donuts. and was surprised to find freshly baked yummies and lots of delicious. I am now willing to give the jelly donut a second third and fourth try. i was impressed. the only thing that gets me is that you can’t pay with a credit card. I had to go use the ATM in there that charged me 2.50 to make a withdrawal. :( I hate spending unnecessary money. but besides the lack of credit card capabilities. this place is yummy. just be sure to bring some cash along.

This donut place is the BEST donut place ever!!! Our party stopped by on the way to Joshua Tree. We ordered a maple bar and a turn over and a cake donut with powered sugar. We were not expecting these donuts to be SO good. The maple bar was not greasy and dripping with oil like most bars. The turnover was light, fluffy and buttery. On our way back we stopped to pick up a dozen. SO delicious. Lots of rednecks hanging out inside.

On my way from Palm Springs to the famed Joshua Tree National park. Stopped in here. Got a ham and cheese croissant. Not baked fresh on the spot but hey, it was good. Went with the boston cream as well. Good high calorie meal to prepare for a long day of hiking. I wanted a t-shirt. the owner came out and we chatted for a few minutes. She gave me a JD t-shirt for $ 6. What a deal! She was super nice and I would go back just for the friendly service. Also loved the crazy man that was sitting next to me and my buddy. Guy was on acid. Always nice to be out in the middle of nowhere and see crazy people. It somehow adds to the ambience.
