My first time with a daycare, I enrolled my, 12 month old son into toddler room. He was sick every week; I was told it was usually for kids to be sick for first year if new to daycare. He brought home, pharyngoconjunctival fever, both my husband and I got it too. Again surprised nothing was mentioned at daycare except some«reports of pink eye». Diaper rashes became a chronic problem(yeast infection once a month) and we requested many times ointment be applied, many times pleaded. Only to find out, after we pulled him out, the ointment tube was in his box still brand new. When we dropped him off he cried, when we picked him up he cried and ran to us, almost every day. Again, it must be because he’s small and new to daycare, but after 6 months you start to wonder. Last straw was when director had been away for a week and we picked him up in terrible state; dried snot and yogurt all over his face, poop in diaper, dark deep red rash and incomplete daily sheet. With no home care available we pulled him out for his best interest. Director was very empathetic and has assured us policies had been put into place to make changes. They offered an opportunity to use another toddler room, we declined. We found another daycare, it’s been a month and since day one he has not cried once at pick up, nor has there been any diaper rashes. He has not been sick either. I truly hope policies had been put into place in KinderCare and hope they realize, this isn’t like any other franchise, they are taking care of children and babies and that needs a special kind of attention. You need to have staff that enjoys that type of work. For now, I cannot recommend this place to anyone.

In my opinion, at least one teacher was not properly reprimanded for failure to report incidents in a timely manor. Instead, it appears that the teacher was given a slap on the wrist while at least two kids suffer the consequences of the teacher’s bad judgement, failure to inform parents in a timely manor and failure to do an official incident report for serious offenses. The problem we ran into here was with one teacher and another child that took advantage of the situation. The Kindercare brand, in general, has been good for us. To be fair, the rest of the teachers do seem to try to follow policy and truly care for the kids under their care. In addition, changes have been established, by the manager, to help prevent future incidents.
