The burgers here are delicious! I’m not a drinker and so I can’t say anything about their beer. The service was excellent! I would definitely eat here again and next time bring friends and family!!!

Maybe it was just me(and the other people I was with…) I had the jail bird sandwich because how can you go wrong with smoked turkey, cheese, bacon and avacado? Wrong, unless you enjoy taking shots of liquid smoke stay away from anything with«smoked» turkey. You could smell the chemical liquid smoke it was so strong. I took a bite and almost lost it. Way too over powering and horribly made, I would say they should get a new vendor for their turkey. When I asked the waitress about it she was like no that’s normal, it’s the smoke flavor you are tasting. On a good note the pretzels and cheese sauce were super yum!

Its tough(from my perspective as a new visitor) to find a unique setting in Yuma for dinner, one with healthy fare and interesting décor, along with winter patio seating. We were about to give up and just get on the road for Phoenix, when I located this little gem in their downtown. If you want a fantastic splurge, please do try the fried avocado and a sampler of their beers. Once we got our waiter won over with our charm, LOL, he was very attentive. But expect that on busy nights you may have to hunt down some water and service. But they want to make you happy, hey… there just busy. I liked their darker beers and loved how unique their menu was, even trying to feature their local produce and dates. Hope to return whenever I visit that area again…

Very nice. Passing through town we stopped here for Lunch. Great food. Nice beer selection. Weather was nice so we sat on the back patio. I had the tri-tip sandwich. Very good. The chips and slaw were even better.

Been there once and tried the pretzel appetizer and their«lightest» beer. First of all, I only asked to tried the beer and they gave me a full glass, I said didn’t like it so I asked for something different and they still charged me for the beer I didn’t even take more than two sips from. The food wasn’t anything out of the ordinary and service wasn’t eit

Horrible! We waited 50 minutes for our food it never came! We finally left! After 30 minutes they brought our appetizers and they were still frozen!!! We are visiting Yuma & we were looking for somewhere different — well we found it!!! I think it is the worst service we have ever had!!! My advise is DON’T GO!!!

Would give zero star if I could! Worst service I have ever had took 30 min for appetizer that came frozen still and then waited an additional 30 min for food that never came so we just left. You must be a drinker here to realize how long it really takes to get your good!!!

Decent food and beer but our server forgot about us and made up a story about someone else taking the order. I’ve been a server for years and I’ve used this line before, it’s not exactly possible especially with the POS system they use… It’s been 50 minutes since we sat down and I still haven’t gotten my beer or our food, I actually went in and got my own beer. She had to come out and get our order again. Some people are just bad waitresses. Period. She falls into that group. Will only be sitting at the bar from now on.

Yes, yes, YES! Prison Hill is hands down my favorite brewery/restaurant to visit, and I come from San Diego which is chock full of both of those things! What’s not to love? Good vibes. Delicious food and even better beer. I love that they offer a rotating menu of beer from places all over the country. I was pleasantly surprised to see one from a brewery I visited while in New York on vacation once. The level of service and friendliness of the employees and owners is excellent. Prison Hill is my go-to place to bring out of town guests. Being a transplant to this area I am so happy to have found a place that is worth going out to. Definitely give the Jailbait Blonde a try. As far as menu items, you can’t go wrong with any of the burgers. The poutine is to die for(definitely good for sharing!) and the pretzels with dipping sauces are great apps.

I really like this place. Somebody recommended it while we were in town, so we stopped in for lunch. Unlike many breweries, they have more than just their own beer. There is a good selection — from light to dark — of the brew master’s own creation, and a good dozen or more of other local(I’m being liberal with the word) beers to choose from. We go to a lot of breweries where the beers are great, but the food is an afterthought. Not here! I had the Shank burger, and she had the brisket sandwich, starting of with the fried avocado. It was delicious. The temp on my burger was a very nice medium rare, which I find most people are too cautious to pull off correctly. We got flights, and I tried the chocolate pumpkin brown, because I read other good stuff about it. It’s a nice change of pace to have the pumpkin be only found in the nose, instead of dominating the flavors. The beer also had smoked chilis, which are smoked in house. The service was good, even though they had just gotten hammered with a huge group out of the blue. And when people started to catch their breath, it got even better. We struck up a conversation with the guy washing glasses, telling him we were really digging the place. Turned out he was the brew master, and we spent a few minutes talking. All in all, I was impressed. The atmosphere, the food, the beer, and the folks in charge of the whole circus. Just great. Stop in and have a great meal. Oh, and check out the life size poster of Han Solo frozen in carbonite. It’s super cool.

Great beer selection. Easy walking distance from the Hilton Garden Inn. The food was delicious. I had some pulled pork that had a tomato base sauce… It was different, but still delicious. Lots on the menu. Everything was delicious.

I came away from this dining experience with a WOW! Since we only had a working lunch, I couldn’t even sample the beer. If it is as good as the food, then everyone needs to rush right down and sample some goodies. We had the Poutine to start and it was every bit as gooey and cheesy as possible. Next we had the fried avocados as everyone couldn’t think of anything but mushy, but it was far from it. It was crunchy, soft and the aioli paired great with it. Entrees consisted of Fish and Chips(Flaky and perfectly cooked) and the Shank Burger which was absolutely too much food, but definitely worth it. Highly recommend you visit and enjoy a wonderful meal as you won’t be disapointed.

We now stop here whenever driving back and forth between Phoenix and San Diego. Food is great, feeling is local, staff is friendly. WAAAAY better than Applebee’s by the freeway.

The beers keep getting better but I also keep finding menu items I love. Currently they have a Thursday special of buy and sandwich and get one of their brewed beers for a buck. The staff is well seasoned now and it’s a pleasure to ask about the products. The verdict is a house smoked brisket sandwich. It has poblano peppers and onions with a spicy cheese and mustard(on the side) and is a great combination. It is my new favorite. The side salad has no ice burg lettuce and I love that.

Prison Hill Brewing Company exceed all of my expectations. I wanted to stop at Prison Hill Brewing on our way to San Diego for the July Fourth weekend. I saw them on a beer map. Yuma has a brewery? Yuma has a downtown? I wanted to check it out. I wasn’t expecting much, just a place to have lunch and try a few new beers. Turns out, the brewery has a great feel to it. It is well decorated with big tables and lots of room at the bar. It is trendy and a bit industrial. There is even beer related art. More importantly, the beer is awesome. Everything we tried we liked. The hefeweizen was super good. We bought two growlers of beer to take with us to San Diego, the hefeweizen and the Straight to Ale. The food was also really good. The pretzels were the best I have had in a long time. We split a shredded beef sandwich. Even the coleslaw and homemade chips were way above average. The menu has clever names for the sandwiches and burgers. Somebody had fun with this. Two examples: What’s your Poblano man? and Chain Link Sausage. I won’t drive through Yuma again without stoping for some Prison Hill beer to take home. I have been recommending this brewery to friends. I was surprised that one of my friends, a beer aficionado, had already been there. He really liked the beer too. Next time you are in Yuma, take the extra five minutes it takes to get off the highway and away from all of the chains and truck stops. Find downtown Yuma, and enjoy the Prison Hill Brewing Company.

For limited options in Yuma, Prison Hill Brewing does alright and I’m going to tell you why. First of all, it’s probably one of the best as well as coolest brewpubs in Yuma. Being from San Diego, that might not be saying much but as a San Diegan looking for a craft beer refuge within the confines of the Yuma city limits, it definitely means something. Now I’ll admit, I’m not the biggest fan of their in house brews but as previously mentioned, I’m from San Diego and with over 100 breweries to choose from, I’ve developed some pretty unique tastes. With that being said, I did enjoy their Hefenweizen the most but I expected more hops out of their IPA, a little less sweetness out of their Scotch ale and regardless of whether the blonde was good, I’m just not a fan of blondes. However, they do make up for this with a nice craft beer selection on tap such as Alpine(Nelson), Stone(Points Unknown, Hi-Fi & Low-Fi Mixtape) and a few others at the time which escape my memory. With flights of 4 tasters(far more generous tasters than I’m used to in SD) for $ 8 and affordable pints, you still have some pretty decent options. Another area in which they kill it is food options. They make some pretty darn good burgers and everything seems to be of very generous proportions. Our table shared the Prison Hill Pretzels appetizer, a sandwich(I forget which but it was huge and I’ll probably get it next time) and my brother and I got the Shank Burger($ 13) which is an 8 ounce mozzarella and bacon stuffed burger with a choice of a side. I got the baked beans and he sidewinder fries, bother were excellent options I had already eaten a massive sandwich beforehand but still had no problem finishing the burger and beans… and pretzel appetizers because everything was very good. Admittedly, not the cheapest bites in town but I’d definitely put it over most places you can go and snag some quality drinks and food. In addition to quality food and beer options, Prison Hill has plenty of indoor seating as well as some nice outdoor patio seating and a great atmosphere overall. The service we experienced was very good and ultimately provided for a good evening out. When I’m visiting Yuma again(and somebody else is driving) I’d seriously place this on the top of my list of places to visit.

Prison Hill brewing co is definitely a solid restaurant that I will be putting into my regular rotation whenever I visit Yuma. The beer selection is diverse and the home brewed stuff is excellent. I’m not normally a fan of Hefeweisens, but theirs was phenomenal. For an appetizer I ordered the fried avocado which was by far the best part of the meal. For dinner I had the fried chicken and waffles which came with a bourbon based maple syrup. I’d never had chicken and waffles before so this was kind of an experiment for me, and I was pretty happy with it. The syrup was the best part of the dish. In addition to being a good spot for dinner, this is also a good place to just hang out at the bar after work. I’m not a fan of going to the hotel bar every night, so this is a good substitute that’s within walking distance of the hotel. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable about their beers. I’m looking forward to returning here during my next trip to Yuma.

On the recommendation of some random guy in the parking lot across the street we stopped in here for lunch. Great atmosphere and guessing a great spot to stop if you are a beer fanatic. Food on the other hand just middle of the road based on my samplings… Root beer float over priced and lifeless. Missing the whip cream and cherry from the description. Meat combo plate(2 of us each had with different options) Brisket– over cooked, tasted left over, zero smoke flavor Tri tip– I didn’t sample but again looked over cooked and dry. Sausage– amazing… order that Turkey — dry yet surprisingly tasty Slaw– a good choice but nothing exciting. Beans — see coleslaw Seasonal veggies — delicious, fresh, crisp and seasoned perfectly. Perhaps you’ll have a better experience, I wouldn’t avoid based on mine… just avoid the beef
