This store is awesome. Like most Safeway stores that you’ll find, it has good deals and it’s pretty big. Their produce and fresh meats and dairy were great quality. There’s a Starbucks inside and they have a Redbox, too. In addition to typical Safeway items, they had snow gear there like snow boots and shovels. I wish I had realized they were there before going into town and spending a lot more there. They had kids and adults, all good quality, snow boots. You’ll need them out here during the winter. The downer was that many timeshare people shop here and will deplete the supply of some items. Like they ran out of hot dog buns. I didn’t believe my dtr at first til I looked for myself. Also ran out of Nacho Doritos(one of my favs). Yes this could happen at other Safeways but esp this one. Still a great place to shop. And the staff was very friendly and helpful.

I’m updating my review and giving an extra star. I went to get a sandwich today and there was focaccia bread. It was amazingly delicious. They really do have amazing sandwiches and today’s server, Tamara, was super friendly and helpful. Very great lunch!

I would give them zero stars if I could. WORSE experience at a Safeway ever. I went into to get a sandwich and that was it. The gal who«helped» me. Didn’t greet me in any way, just«what do you want» and then started making the sandwich. She asked if I wanted it warmed and said«yes and could you please put onion on before warming» she rolled her eyes and put the onion on. After the sandwich was warned she threw lettuce on it and as she putting both halves together she starts to ask if I wanted anything else on my sandwich. At that point I just wanted to get away from the most unpleasant person and said«no thank you.» The sandwich wasn’t cut in half and was a overall horrible sandwich.

This store is nice and clean. I wish they had larger organic selection of produce. They often have nice sales going. Full size bakery with good doughnuts and other baked goods. Full service pharmacy, Starbucks and Wells Fargo bank on site. Very convenient location. Prices less expensive then other local competitor.

We prefer this Safeway location because it is away from the mad rush of South Lake Tahoe and the casino traffic. Produce is usually fresh per Safeway standards, service is friendly and the store layout is not too difficult. Parking is also a breeze.

If i could give this store«0» I would! This is the WORST Safeway I have ever shopped at! I talked to the manager about some of the things I felt the store should carry and lack in and he could of cared less! Don’t ever accidentally forget your cell phone at this store at checkout counter! My husband realized 2 hrs after we left the store it was lost and we tracked it to the store and we were camping from Oregon and he ran back up to get it and they ALL claimed there was no lost cell phone at the store! No one could help him! By then we figured someone had found it and stole it so we gave up all hope! TWO hrs later we get a phone call from a checker saying husbands phone was at check stand. For awhile someone HAD turned off the phone(why would they do that???) but this checker claims a «ping ping’ noise was coming from it with my cell phone number flashing stating it was a LOSTPHONE! Fortunately we got it back but boy did that add STRESS to our camping trip! NEVER shop at this store people. Make the drive down to South Lake Safeway-its nicer all the way around and has everything we needed this store did not and the people working there were MUCH nicer!

Safeway. The go-to for the stock up on food, booze and beer. Stopped in for supplies for the weekend, never disappointed.

We spent a nice weekend in Tahoe near this Safeway. Kind of a really nice quiet area because there’s not so much traffic — it’s right outside the casino area and we don’t have to wrestle with pedestrians or traffic. Everything you need you could pretty much find in here. Including a Starbuck’s fix, slot machines and maybe a few extra pieces of clothing. «Slot machines??? In Safeway? No way.» Oh yes, way!
