I go here every time I come to South Lake. Excellent jerky with a great selection! The staff is always helpful as well.

This place is so great for road trips home from Lake tahoe! It is my absolute favorite road trip food and the 7 hour drive back was made so much better from the jerky

Stopped in here while walking around this shopping area. Was thrilled to find something that wasn’t a chain, or tourist junk. Not exactly, local, but still happy with the concept. The woman working there was very nice, and let us sample whatever we wanted and suggested some jerkies as well. Bought a few small bags for gifts, and one to snack on for the drive home.

My son and his girlfriend found this place and then called me to come try it. The gentlemen behind the counter was so kind and patient with us tasting different flavors. We ended up buying numerous different kinds of jerky. I bought the terriyaki buffalo and sweet and spicy brisket(super moist). They sell it by the ounce and I believe I paid about $ 2.81 an ounce for the buffalo and around $ 2.40 for the brisket. It seemed a little expensive but it was a treat and really good. I will stop by again before I leave Lake Tahoe.

This is a legit jerky store. They have different kind of meats like elk and buffalo. You get to sample before you buy. It’s worth stopping by when you’re in Tahoe.

During our Lake Tahoe Getaway, we walked by this store twice and had to stop in. The shop is kind of on the small side but this doesn’t detract from the delicious goodies inside. There is a refrigerated section with ham and bacon — which looked delicious! In the center, there is a large glass display case with multiple meats — elk, boar, turkey, beef, etc. I noticed that there were several different black pepper jerkies and I asked about the difference and received an explanation on the meat type/consistency/moisture level. This was very helpful and I found the employee behind the counter was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the product. I was also able to sample as many product as I liked. My favorite was the peppered elk but my husband really liked the peppered boar. The chipotle bourbon boar was delicious as well. We purchased a bit of all three jerkies. The jerkies lasted us several days and were super tasty. Overall, it’s a great shop to stop by for a gift or snack. They also do online ordering with free shipping. I’ll definitely be getting some more jerky in the near future!

Hands down some of the best jerky I’ve had and there must be at least 10 different flavors. They also have elk, boar, buffalo and turkey jerky. The sweet and spicy brisket is probably one of my favorites and the peppered buffalo is also amazing. Prices are a little high, but that’s what you should expect for high-quality jerky in a tourist town like SLT. The staff is more than willing to let you sample any type you want. Whenever I’m in South Shore I’ll make sure to stop by and pick up a pound of different flavors. Great for the car ride back home!

I was introduced to them from a friend from Bishop. He orders from them on line all of the time because he grew up eating their jerky in Bishop. I was pleasantly surprised to see this location. I can’t wait for them to get refrigeration so they will have their cowboy jerky ands bacon. Soo good.

You have some good jerky. I got the boar and elk jerky and they were great. I would really like to see more fish jerky selections and other smoked meats. It would also be nice to see something for locals. Discounts or something that will bring us back regularly. Overall you have good jerky. Give us something more

So yummy!!! As a local, we’re always skiddish of anything remotely close to the village, but after getting some fro-yo with my daughter, we walked in. The lady behind the counter(wish I got her name because she was super sweet!) promptly greeted us and said she’d be with is in a moment. As soon it was our turn, she let us taste some selections and recommended the Teriyaki Elk… needless to say I walked out with a half pound and plan to go back for more!!! I love supporting local(ish) kind of companies and the jerky is SOGOOD. Nice and juicy and not dry at all! Even walking out the door my 4-year-old was asking for more! Thanks so much for sharing a bit of Bishop with us!

I’ve been going to the Bishop location with my family since I was a kid and have ordered online for myself when I was on the east coast and for friends deployed to the middle east, so I was so thrilled to see this location while visiting South Lake Tahoe. They had all my favorites — Sweet-N-Spicy, Habanero(which I believe used to be called Hell Fire Hot at one point and with good reason), and Teriyaki. Do yourself a favor and check it out. It’s a little on the pricy side, but worth it.

They gave me a plethora of samples before I decided on the Habanero Buffalo Jerky. My second favorite was the peppered elk jerky. The service was great and so is the food!
