Outstanding. I ordered the special of the day: filet mignon + lobster. It was cooked to perfection. I frequent $$$ restaurants but it’s rarely so soft and juicy. It was also very well priced for the quality. I will definitely come back as one of my new favorites in south Lake Tahoe.

Simply terrible. Short staff woman kept scolded the staff that tried to help us multiple times right in front of us(seriously) and the food took forever!!! They said it was because of the room service orders since the dining room was pretty empty but when the food finally showed up my daughter’s pasta was all stuck together and not cooked and my husbands dish was cold. Don’t waist your time when there are so many good local places to eat in walking distance.

Ok, this place was terrible and I even waited a day to see if I was just fired up at the time but now it’s a day later and I’m convinced that it is horrible. Here is a recap of how our Christmas Eve dinner was. First we came by about an hour before we knew we would be eating and asked about reservations and were told that it was first come first serve. Good enough, if that’s how they do it that’s how it is. We come back in an hour and were on our way to a table and I hear one of the hostesses tell the one that is sitting us not to seat the booths. When the girl that was seating us asks why she says we are reserving them. I look at both of them and say«what happened to first come first served?» No answer. We sat at a table near the window which we were good with because we were watching the snow outside. At this point there were only a few tables taken so we pretty much picked where we wanted to be. Ordered drinks, the drinks came relatively quickly and we ordered apps and our meal. Apps and my side salad were out in about 15 minutes and then NOTHING. 40 minutes later my wife gets her pasta and I get my surf and turf. The waiter apologizes and says that my sons corndog is going to take a few more minutes. Really? Your kitchen is so incompetent that they can’t make a corndog in an hour? I look down and my medium rare filet is not only well done but cold. So obviously our food was sitting there for a long time waiting for the magical corndog fairy. I send the steak back, he takes my entire plate and 15 minutes later he brings it back… My 4yr old is still waiting for his corndog, my wife has been done with her pasta for 5 minutes and I have a worse cut of meat and cold scallops because they let the plate sit out and didn’t remake those. I almost forgot that we never got the bread that we asked for. By now every table in the place is full because they can’t get any food out due to the total incompetence of the kitchen and manager. The manager was seeing all of this happen and just hung out around the bar and at the stand at the door. INSANE!!! This place has a captive audience. They are in a large hotel. All the need to do is serve mediocre food in a reasonable timeframe and they can’t even do that. The manager obviously can’t run a kitchen and the people making the food obviously shouldn’t be working there when they are screwing up orders with only 5 tables in the place.

Our concierge suggested this place for breakfast. Slow service and our food arrived cold. Ordered Mac and cheese for my child and it was made from the box. Lol! Would not recommend.

Took 20 minutes to even take our order. Then over 30 min to bring the food. When they brought the order they screwed it up and we had to send it back. They had a Bloody Mary bar which is why I went. The bloody Mary’s were not good at all though. Low shelf cheap vodka. The mix was weak and tasted like water with a splash of tomato juice. Staff was relatively friendly but slower than snails. The best thing about the place was all of the TVs surrounding the dining area. Good for watching football. All and all this place was a 2 out of 5. It was disappointing.

This place is the worst! Very limited menu. Very high priced for really bad service. The food is the worst part of all. We got breakfast and some how they managed to screw up sausage eggs and potatoes. Steer clear of this place!

This was the perfect home base for our Tahoe get away weekend! We had the same server almost every time we were there(Donna) and she took incredibly good care of us! We were staying in the hotel and after a night out on Friday decided to stop in for some late night appetizers. We had prompt order taking, and she was very friendly and great at making suggestions. Saturday afternoon we stopped in for a dessert and ended up coming back for dinner late Saturday night. We split the prime rib dinner(which was huge) and were very impressed with the level of food and service. We were impressed with the manager as well, who came to check on us several times throughout our stay. We will definitely make this a stop when we are back in Tahoe.

Echo Lounge is located in the lobby of the lake Tahoe Resort Hotel. Service is very friendly. I was waiting in my room when a friend called and said she was having drinks down at the bar. I headed down and I was hungry but we were in a time crunch so I got the $ 19.99 prime rib special which included a choice of soup or salad the prime rib, vegetables, and a baked potato. The soup was a tortilla soup that I gave to my friend. She said it was good. My prime rib was also good but not fantastic. However, what was fantastic was the speed of service. I was served my soup and prime rib in only about 5 minutes. Munch munch munch and we are out of there in about 15 minutes. Thank you Echo Lounge for speedy service!

It’s hard to put an experience like this into words, it wasn’t terrible, but I wouldn’t recommend it to a friend. The ambiance is terrible, loud music, loud drunks, very mediocre food. The prime rib sure didn’t taste like USDA prime or even choice. Not a lot of flavor and not very tender. Service was inconsistent.

Four of us at dinner there on September 18. We enjoyed a not on the menu special which was short rib ravioli with scallops in a delicious sauce. We also enjoyed the $ 19.99 prime rib special. All of the entrées were wonderful. They make their own salad dressings and the Caesar dressing is to rave about as is the balsamic vinegaret dressing. And a special thanks to our attentive waitress, Donna D. On September 19, we stopped by for $ 5 make them yourself bloody Mary’s. It turned out to be quite a bargain with a lot of choices.

We came in for dinner, we ordered grilled salmon, the waitress was GREAT, understanding our food restrictions. However, the serving itself was so small, I left hungry. In general, when i purchase a 20 $+(in a regular restaurant) I expect to feel remotely satisfied.(I am a petite person, a cereal bowl can fill me up). The food was tasty though.

Pretty unpleasant experience. Came here because on their website it said they had a bogo free deal — but waiter awkwardly said we were wrong, and then took forever to return and take our order! Food finallyyy came but it was all luke warm. Luke warm fish isnt very appetizing. Overall awkward experience.

We stopped in for appetizers and drinks before heading to Stateline Brewing for dinner. Place seemed to be «happening» when we walked in around 4pm on a Saturday. Part of a wedding party was there getting their celebration on, so the energy was good. When I saw that they had Deschutes Fresh Squeezed IPA on tap, I knew I would be a happy man before dinner. I ordered a pint and we placed an order for wings as well. The wings are good. They aren’t as crispy as I prefer, but they have a good flavor and they were quickly devoured. I saw a waiter carry a burger by our table and it looked fantastic, so I will have to try one the next time I am in Tahoe. My beer was delicious, and I really wanted to order another, but the rest of our group was ready to head over to the brewery. We were able to pay our bill quickly and leave, feeling happy! A short visit, but a very pleasant experience. The Basics: Easy access from the street The place is clean Wait Staff was friendly, helpful and prompt The bathrooms… Well I had to walk into the casino lobby to take care of my business.
Other than that, no complaints.

Came here because the wait at the better restaurants was 30 — 40 minutes. We should have stayed at the other place. The food here takes forever. Eat someplace else. Food just came. Awful.

Yeah, this place doesn’t do much. Of anything. The menu looks good, but the food comes up short. On everything but price! Even if everything cost half as much as the menu said, I’d still be able to prepare something better in my own home. That’s definitely not the dining experience I’m looking for.

Rescinding my prior review. Stayed at the hotel with my extended family over Christmas break, and it was too cold to go out one night, so we, somewhat begrudgingly, headed to Echo’s. I was pleasantly surprised. Our party was seated in the back room, so kids had their own space and could not disturb the other patrons. The adults, meanwhile, enjoyed free drinks from the hotel coupons. Maybe it is because of the alcohol consumed, but food tasted better this time. The cook on my fish was fantastic, and my son’s steak was a perfect medium. Some of the kids in our party have severe allergies to nuts and dairy, and the restaurant handled that with care.

My wife and I recently dined at Echo while we were on vacation. We ordered three different dishes: the Sunny Root Mix, the grilled vegetables, and the daily special… Shrimp Scampi over rice. The Sunny Root Mix was made from bagged lettuce greens, definitely not fresh lettuce as there was rotten/wilted pieces of lettuce in the mix. Also, the Manchego cheese tasted like it was sitting in a fridge for the last week absorbing all of those wonderful fridge odors. Overpriced at $ 12. The grilled vegetables was probably the best, although it was just mediocre. They definitely weren’t grilled, but rather sauteed zucchini, yellow squash and broccoli. The Scampi was pretty bad. About 10 small shrimp along with a pound of capers over a cup of INSTANTRICE. When I go out to eat at a decent restaurant, I certainly don’t expect to eat Uncle Ben’s converted rice. Rice is one of the cheaper and easier dishes to make, so I’m not sure why they chose to save a couple of minutes making instant rice. Service was terrible. There were very few people in the restaurant when we were eating, so slow service couldn’t be attributed to an overworked staff. However, our server couldn’t seem to answer any of our questions and when he asked how our salad was and I responded with a «Meh, it was okay», he replied with a snide«Well, you ate it. It couldn’t have been that bad.». Also, even though he proclaimed he would fill our water glasses half-way through the meal, he never got around to it until we were finished and waiting for the check. Summary: If you don’t mind mediocre food similar to Denny’s, you may enjoy the Echo Lounge.

Terrible service! I would say something about the food but after waiting 10 minutes for anyone to come by we left. There were at least 6 servers standing around in the room talking, but no one could be bothered to come over and help us. I could understand if they were super busy but there were as many servers as there were tables, they were too busy talking. With so many good choices around there don’t waste your time on this crappy place.

Decent food. Terrible service. Will not visit again. My family has been visiting this establishment for many years and our experience has always been satisfactory. This all changed when we visited on vacation in July. I was craving macaroni and cheese and decided to order some. When I gave my order to our waitress(older lady whose name I cannot recall) she SCOFFED at me and said, «Out of all the things we have on the menu you want to order THAT?» It was very rude but I pretended to laugh, shrugged it off and let it go. Things escalated quickly however, when the man who served the food gave me my mac and cheese and said, «Mac and cheese. Really? Really?,» in a condescending tone. Our waitress joined in with him and sneered, «Mac and cheese for the little girl.» I was beyond upset. Never in my life had I been so disrespected. It was demeaning, unprofessional, and completely out of line. The man who served the food immediately noticed how angry I was and made a quick attempt to apologize, yet my waitress said nothing and left. I felt so hurt. If I am willing to give patronage to your business, you have no right to judge me for what I choose to order, let alone VERBALLY insult me in front of my family. I let a comment card detailing the situation, but sadly I never received a response. It’s a shame, for I hoped management might have the decency to at least acknowledge my concerns. Echo is now a tradition of the past.

Absolutely Terrible!!! –Unnecessarily long(20min) wait, there was open table and no line. Hostess was to blame. –Bad food. French onion soup had no cheese. What kind of soups is that? Not impressed with anything else we had. –tried to give us free beer but still terrible waiters service.
