Food was great. Huge portions, the atmosphere was a lot of fun. Great beer selections. Service was spot on.

New location on the corner of Stateline and Hwy 50 across from Harvey’s. It’s HUGE! Though, I gotta say that I miss the atmosphere of the former location with the tree through it. We were there for Happy Hour after skiing Heavenly. Very solid list of craft beer on tap! ½ price Wee Bites; we got the bratwurst and the mozzarella sticks — they were ok — nothing special. The service was better than expected. I didn’t see a pool table like the former location had yet it had a big @ss fan in the dome in the main section. Solid outdoor seating as well with some fire-pits. I would go back to check if the main food dishes are the same or better than the former location; but, for now, given what we experienced at this new location, it’s a solid 3-star.

Parking– parked at the Raley’s down the street and walked over, didn’t see much else Atmosphere– pretty chill Seating– lots of seating Pricing– some plates weren’t too bad but others were a bit excessive My group of 5 people went to lunch here after a retreat. At first, we wanted to sit outside around a fire pit but were told that we weren’t allowed. Which was fine, but I couldn’t find any reasoning behind it. We were seating almost immediately near the kitchen next to a fire place which was nice. Quickly recieved our drinks and made our orders. The first thing to come out was an order of mozzarella sticks. They were pretty good but the cheese wasn’t very gooey but I think the marinara sauce made up for that. Then, three of the main orders came out, the nachos, regular fries, and macaroni. Each person said that their order was good. Portion sizes were a bit large so I am glad I shared a margarita pizza(which was slightly burnt in some places) with another person. Overall, the food was just okay. The reason I’m giving this place 2.5 stars is because our server was extremely rude. I’m not talking about the sweet girls who we asked if we could sit outside by the fire pit, but the one who took our orders. He refused to split the bill more than once(there would have been 4 separate check so not hard) and pretty much told us to figure it out because he wasn’t going to change anything. There was 3 other tables in that area and we weren’t asking for anything unreasonable. I’ve see many restaurants give separate checks and not have any problems therefore this behavior was unacceptable.

Nice place to go and get a quick bite and some tasty beers. Meatball sandwich was amazing, fish and chips were pretty good. Waitress Michelle was sweet but they were busy and a little under staffed. Would come back for the cheesy meatball sub! Just make sure you bring cash because they can’t spilt bills!

Everything we had was excellent, from the bagpipe player at the entrance to the beer selection on tap. We started with the bread bowl artichoke dip which was good, not great. However we orders the potato pizza and BBQ lettuce cups and where both excellent, would highly recommend.

Convenient location but POORSERVICE. The stew was pretty disgusting, they must have dropped the whole pepper can in there, it basically just tasted black pepper. A stew is pretty simple to cook, I could teach a monkey how to cook one in 5 minutes. If the cooks would have tasted what they were cooking, they would not have been proud of their work. I have never send back a plate to the kitchen, not really difficult when it comes to food. When I informed the waiter about how peppery it was, he just said«ok», he didn’t ask how it could have been fixed. The waiter came to the table twice to fill our cups but always missed one, BTW it was a busy night, the pub was half way full. If the service would have been better, I would have given a 3 stars but over, I wish I could give them a zero.

It’s been a little over a two years since I last visited McP’s TapHouse Grill. In fact, the last time I visited was when it was in its original location — directly across the street from Heavenly. When I last visited I was a bit bummed to see that it had been replaced with a new shopping center because I loved everything about it. It was old, small, cramped, and everything about it screamed hole in the wall. It even had an outdoor fire pit and a pool table for those that just want to leisure around. They also had great music constantly playing and a good amount of beers to choose from. Along with the old school motels/hotels on that same block, it fit in quite well. We’re on day two on our trip to Tahoe and we thought it’d be a good idea to ditch the car at the hotel parking lot and do a little walking. We started towards the new strip and noticed a pub at the far end. We walked in and easily found a bar seat(this was on a Monday night). The place was large, clean, and real nice. The bar was large and long, there could of easily been more than 10 chairs up there. The bar tables were a handful and the booths… I honestly don’t know how many of those there were. They also had comfy couches for groups to hang out and a stage for live bands to play. If you find yourselves outside, they also do have tables and a fire pit(win!). The selection of beer was not disappointing. I was in heaven when I saw their immense list of crafts and have more than enough of tastings that I should of had!

We came here on a Tuesday night during January and it was pretty popular! It was nice and warm inside with a fireplace and live music. We ordered the pulled pork nachos which were delicious as well as HUGE. Seriously, we took home leftovers which was a feat. The service was great and our waiter was extremely friendly. It was a great experience, and easy to just walk over to the casinos afterward. Parking wise, Harrah’s is right across the street with free parking!

great place to grab a drink and listen to a live band play. seating outside with firepits were nice and the inside was hot as hell. like a sauna room. We tried their sampler and the nachos! omg soooo good and filling. The fish and chips and burgers were pretty tasteful as well. Not suitable for a sit down fancy dinner but just a little walk across from Harveys which was great!

Service was poor. It was a slow Saturday with a few tables. Our server served one of us warm water and when we got the refill it was boiling hot. She didn’t warn us about the temperature which burned our mouths off. At least give us a warning jeez. She also never checked back on us the whole time. Food sucks. It tasted like cafeteria food. I ordered the beef stew took a bite of it and tastes like right out of the can with a few beef bites and the rest was all corn starch, carrots and peas. yuck. Pork sliders were nothing special and they were served cold! ugh Mac and cheese were alrrrriiiiight. They were tolerable after everything else we had. Despite the horrible food which we didnt send back because I am a server and I absolutely hate it when patrons do that so I’ll just vent on here to warn others about the food;). We still tipped anyway.

Was excited to try out the food because it looked really good online. We were super disappointed when we got the corned beef and cabbage. The corned beef was dry, tuff and had no flavor! The cabbage was all stock, only had a few leafs and was bland. At least my beer was awesome!

Staying across the street at Harvey’s, we went for lunch here on a Thursday afternoon. We decided to sit on the patio, which was a little noisy and chilly, but good atmosphere. They had some of the heaters on so it wasn’t too bad. Service was slow, but it was 2:30 p.m. and there were probably 10 tables full of people and only one waitress working the whole patio. Beer was a little overpriced but it didn’t stop me from having more than one. Food was also a little more than what we normally pay but it ended up being worth it. I ordered Shepherd’s pie, the other two ordered Reuben’s. We all cleaned our plates pretty quickly — tasty and filling. There is a good Irish vibe going on here, and I was with Irish people that approved, so apparently it passes the test. I imagine it gets pretty busy here in the winter when all the snow people are in town.

Got the fish and chips, pretty good but most of the food IS bar food, so dont expect amazing food just something to fill up on with a beer or cocktail. Park at Harrahs and cut through for easy parking!

My husband and I went here for a Unilocal Event but we showed up so late, all the small complimentary bites were gone so we ended up ordering one appetizer and one entrée to share. Fries with gravy 6 $: 4 stars! Delicious! Simple but so hearty and tasty. I love gravy and I love fries so there’s something natural about combining the both of these together. Due to the portion size here, we were unable to finish the fries or the entrée! The Rancher 23 $: 4 stars! Described on their menu as «boneless Angus short rib, slow cooked in Guinness demi-glaze with mashed potatoes, and seasonal vegetables.» It was flavorful and rich! Def big enough to feed 2 people!

So far, great service! I mean GREAT service. Dear hubby, our nine year old picky eatin boy and me out for dinner. Kid had kid food. Whatev. Dear hubby and I had the corned beef. Really good. But the winner here is the beer menu. Fantastic selection. Live music was awesome! Or maybe it was all of those shots of Tullamore Dew that made the band so good. :) Love the outdoor tables with firepits in the middle! It was a bit chilly so they were quite welcome.

It was a late Friday during Labor Day weekend. some friends wanted some food before we went to the Casinos. found this place just inside the California border. or just outside the Nevada border, depending on the perspective. They had a pretty good beer menu. there was live music, which was pretty nice. the place had a decent feel. nothing too fancy, but nice. pretty good sports bar if there was a game on. they had a number of big flat screens. i ordered an IPA, and soem friends ordered the Moscow Mules. drinks were pretty good. cant really mess up a Mule too bad, right. We ordered the Nachos, Wings, shortrib entrée, and fries. the shortrib entrée was amazing. the meat was so tender, and was seasoned just right. potatoes went great with it. the Nachos could feed a family of 4. it was pretty big. and it was good. we had 4 in our party, and we just got through a fourth of it. probably because was had so much other food. i would come back here again when i visit Tahoe.

McPs is located across the street from Heavenly Village, but still very much in the center of the activity. They have a large patio for those looking to dine outside or an enjoy a drink. We started with the Meatball Skillet. The meatballs were generously sized and delicious with plenty of marinara in the skillet. This made for a hearty starter. I had the Stuffed Avocado Salad as my entrée. I have mixed feelings about this dish. It was pretty good and I loved the idea of it, but the crab was either canned or fake and that was offsetting to me. Maybe it’s my fault for thinking a pub would serve real crab. So, the idea was good, but the execution was off. My husband had loaded potato pizza. This pizza was basically potato skins on top of a pizza crust. This was really good and a little different from the usual pizza.

A group of us met up here for a quick dinner before a concert at Harvey’s. The outside patio looked inviting, so we asked to be seated at one of the outdoor tables that has a small firepit built into it. We were told that no food was served on that side of the patio. Not sure why this is, but it was kind of disappointing. The side of the patio that they do serve food on was packed, so we ended up inside. The front of the restaurant was also really busy, the back portion had plenty of seating available. Our waiter was at our table fairly quickly — enough time to make a decision on what to drink but not too long that we started wondering when he’d show up. Our drinks took a while to come out, but it was an understandable amount of time considering the number of people that were there. Our waiter did a good job getting our second round out to us later on. We decided to get a bunch of appetizers for everyone to share. We were intrigued by the Irish Fries(how can you go wrong with Guinness gravy?) so we put in an order for that along with the sample platter(includes chicken tenders, jalapeño poppers, mozzarella sticks, and sweet potato or regular fries), pub nachos, and buffalo wings. All of our food came out in good time and I was impressed that it all came out at the same time. I was a little disappointed in the Irish fries. I was hoping for something more, but they are just regular fries with a side of gravy for dipping. Meh. The sampler platter was pretty much what you’d expect. The wings were pretty good and the buffalo sauce had a nice kick to it. The nachos were my favorite part(funny that this is an Irish pub and I liked the nachos the best…) Often times I find that there are not enough toppings on nachos so at the end you are sparingly use those toppings because you have so many naked chips. Not with these nachos — there were plenty of toppings to go around! When it came time to pay, our waiter told us that he couldn’t split the check more than two ways. We were planning on splitting it three ways, which in my opinion shouldn’t make it that much harder for him to do. He said that it would just take way too long. He also told us that if we wanted to split it two ways, it was going to take 10 minutes to do. Umm, why? After waiting around for about 10 minutes for him to come back, we all decided to just throw our cash in that we had for the concert. It really confuses me when customer service ceases to exist once you’ve finished eating. I don’t know if this was this particular waiter(who had been totally fine up to this point), the busy-ness of the place, or just the way things are here… I thought some of the entrees sounded good on the menu, so I’m not opposed to coming back to try this place again. But maybe do it on a quieter day(although, is there ever a quiet day here since they are in a super prime location to attract tourists, etc.?)

Really a 3.5, but Unilocal is still ARCHAICANDWON’T ALLOWHALFSTARRATINGS!!! Anyway, McPs is pretty good. The service is quite awful, but the food was plentiful and enjoyable. I got the buffalo chicken sandwich, which was a nice size and came with a lot of fries. The chicken patty seemed to be half breast meat and half mystery meat, but it tasted very good, so no complaints there. The beer list is good as well, and the prices aren’t insanely high. The vinegar aioli that they serve with their fish and chips is pretty addicting, and was great with fries. As others seem to say, poor service, good food. Prices are a little high, but I guess that’s not a huge surprise given its location, and at least you get plenty of food for the money.
