Food was great but they would not let my dog on the outside porch.

Loved that there’s a bar I can order drinks from and relax. But if the drinks are horrible what’s the point! I ordered a mai tai and it was just plain out nasty! All I just tasted was pure rum. Yes I love my alcohol but there’s a balance and measurements especially in mixed drinks, that’s why I ordered a «mixed» drink not a shot! My husband had the bloody Mary, that was watered down and just bland! Waste of money I didn’t even drink half my mai tai!

Sunset Bar and grill has a great location right next to the beach at Zephyr Cove. Unfortunately, our experience there the other day was ruined by the bartender, Chad. We were there for a bachelorette party, and I made a mistake by adding the tip wrong by ONE dollar. I apologized and asked for my receipt back so I could change it.(I had just spent $ 100 in 20 minutes on drinks for my friends.) Chad got very upset, called me a «Dumb b****» and went on a very loud, unnecessary rant how I needed to leave. People who witnessed it obviously got upset, I walked away. My friends requested to speak to a manager, and he told them that we had«obviously been drinking a lot that day.» This was actually the first drink we had all day. I am sickened by the way my friends and I were treated. I will never go back to this restaurant and bar due to this situation. I really hope it was just a bad day for Chad, and he never speaks to another human being like that ever again.

We come up here at least once a summer to sit at a table, enjoy a few drinks, get some sun and have the best fish tacos! You can bring your own drinks as long as they are in a can too! The prices are high but it’s Tahoe, so what do you expect? You get two tacos that have huge filets of fried fish, slaw, pico and the lemon aioli sauce. You also get fries and a drink for $ 13. If we have no plans on a weekend, we’ll literally drive up for the tacos ;)

The bartender Bart is witty and hilarious. Drinks are solid. This place is pretty awesome. I would recommend it to anyone who likes to have a blast! Good times.

7pm in the middle of the summer. Sunset was at 8pm. The stupid place was closed! Fools. A catamaran had just returned, too. According to the Zephyr Cove General Store, they randomly close. Obviously they don’t seek to make money.

The large, burnt out, over weight bar tender is extremely rude. So rude i refuse to ever spend money at this establishment ever again. He is a loser in life, and likes to take it out on people who are just trying to relax at the beach. If you go there, don’t tip this guy, he doesn’t deserve it.

We always eat at the Sunset Grill whenever we stop by the beach in Zephyr Cove when visiting South Lake Tahoe. We were just here again this past 4th of July weekend and like always it was super busy. The lines are always long and take forever but the food and drinks are definitely worth it(taste wise and because no one else sells food/drinks at this beach resort). The portions are huge and everything we’ve had was really good. We normally always get the nachos, hamburgers. and cookie ice cream sandwich, and they never disappoint.

This is situated in an excellent location, right at the Zephyr cove beach. It gets alot of foot traffic, obviously, being right across from campgrounds and resort and across from a stable. It was the busiest time of the year: July 4th holiday and the beach was inundated with visitors. This is the only eatery at the beach(other than a sit down restaurant ½ block away) so it’s kind of a monopoly. They serve alcoholic beverages on the other side and food on one side. I ordered 2 items: a chicken taco for $ 10 and a «shrimp cocktail» for $ 10. For the chicken taco you get 2 small tacos. No grease on the chicken, plus! Shredded cabbage used(i guess they shred it the day before and cabbage is less perishable) and a few pcs of diced tomatoes. Tacos would have been alot better with some salsa. When you see«shrimp cocktail» you expect the large jumbo shrimps with some cocktail sauce. Well, what it actually was a salsa with chips. The shrimp is integrated inside the salsa and they r teeny weeny shrimps. I would call this, «Chips and salsa w/shrimp bits» and not«shrimp cocktail” – that was so misleading and i was reaaaaally disappointed. In fact as i was ordering i asked the kid how many pcs of shrimps are in the order and he told me it was in a cup and about«this much»(showing me)…but failed to tell me it’s a salsa mixed w/some shrimp bits! Boo… Some ppl got really angry b/c they started to run out of two items on the menu and there aren’t that many items to begin with. I guess it was a super busy week. Not only do you get the massive visitors who drive there but there were tour busses making a stop there. Also it is where the Queen Mary boat ride arrives/departs. All in all, it’s basic food for overpriced resort prices… but you dont have much choice there. If you lodge close by, you could buy and cook your own food…
