The popcorn is 10⁄10! But for real this is a great little hardware store that usually has everything you would need. The employees are all friendly and sometimes they even cook food outside the store and give out samples. If you need some tools or materials but don’t want to go all the way to Lowes or Home Depot and want to support a local business than this is the place for you.

When I get caught on something difficult to fix, some obscure screw or bolt of just a flat out «how do I fix this or what do I spray on that», it’s a consensus in our household that Akards is that place to go. Doesn’t hurt that the service is good, not the, wait too long to have someone look at you like you’re nuts experience.
The only challenge that I’ve had at Akards is there is that ever so oft occasion when I KNOW they should have something and I’m told to go to Loews. That just ain’t right. But it is what it is.

Since I will not be shopping at Lowes anymore thanks to their poor marketing decisions, I have decided to give my business to our local True Value Hardware store. It is an easy decision to make thanks to their friendly service and competitive prices on any number of items. Many happy returns!
PS — they are always nice to the kids, too, which does make an impression on me.

Akard is a great small town hardware store! But, don’t let the wording «small town» confuse you. They have everything you need like the big box stores. They even carry Carhart products! We go here for any household supplies we need and you don’t pay any more than you would at Lowes or Home Depot; plus, you keep your money local! Leigh Ann, Toni, & Carolyn are always friendly and helpful!
