Hit or miss. I’ve gotten take out from here twice. The first time, my friends and I agreed the egg drop soup was the best we’ve ever had. The egg rolls were great, but the fried rice was bland. The second time, the egg rolls were just ok, and the fried rice and egg drop soup were delicious. It’s quick, close to home, and they provide an online menu for take out. I will be back.

This place is very nice! We greeted by almost all of the staff and they went out of their way to make sure we had everything we wanted. Our waitress was very sweet. She thoroughly went over the menu and said they could make changes to any of the items on there. All of their food is made right in the kitchen and nothing comes pre made. I would recommend this place to everyone!

Great food and the owners are very personable. They recognize and know your order whether you come in to place a carryout order or over the phone. That kind of customer service is what I expect in any establishment I go to. Well the food is exceptionally tasty and flavorful and never been disappointed. My favorite dish is the sesame beef or mongolian beef(east coast style). The great thing is they let you customize your dish to your liking. Great establishment. Keep it up.

Crab rangoons are massive but they are WAY too sweet! Waste of money when I was left with a sugar explosion in my mouth. I absolutely love crab rangoons and was excited at first at how large they are but was so disappointed when I tasted them. SO. MUCH. SUGAR. The rest of the food I’ve tried was okay… there are way better Chinese spots around. Only positive thing I can say is that the people who work there are extremely friendly. Just wish that their food was better.

Thought this looked interesting from some of the others reviews but the food turned out to be quite disappointing and ordinary. There were 3 in our party who ordered different dishes. And each was in a sauce that was very«gummy The flavor was also quit bland overall. There are much better options

This establishment is family owned and operated and they have always been exceptionally friendly. The portion sizes are quite large which always allows me leftovers for lunch the following day too. Prices are slightly above average but so is the taste so I won’t complain a bit. I have been coming here for years and refuse to get my takeout anywhere else.

Driving through Zionsville, I have passed by Rice Cooker several times and today I decided to give it a try. I ordered one of the many ‘daily lunch specials’, Shrimp Chow Mein. The chow mein has lots of veggies and it tasted ok but they placed the chow mein noodles on top which became very soggy. It was also a bit on the bland side. The fried rice was also very bland. It was simply rice and a small amount of egg. I really wanted to like the Rice Cooker but alas it wasn’t meant to be. I was also expecting more for my money(the ‘special’ was 7.95).

Delicious Crab Rangoon. Nice size portion. The dinner size is a little more expensive then expected. The lunch is a little better priced. The service is decent.

Ordered a large carryout order today. Food was ready quickly and was delicious. The best part about this place, however, was the friendliness of the staff. We were greeted by name when we walked in and everyone was so nice!

Read all the other revies and have to say, seems like a lot of people have no idea what good hot and sour soup might be. This was terrible hot and sour soup … more of a too sweet soup. And as another reviewer mentioned, no mushrooms in the soup. Plus really not much of anything in the soup. Just blah blah BAD! I was surprised, then, when I received my order of moo shu pork. It was quite tasty. The pancakes were really tortillas, but honestly, not sure that there is much of a difference between a true moo shu pancake and a tortilla. All in all, this was a nice lunch, but doubt I’d go back.

The egg drop soup is the best! I’ve been able to find anything like it. I normally get the the sweet and sour chicken all white meat with the sauce on the side so I can control the amount of sauce on the chicken and veggies. The other dishes tend to make the breaking on the chicken less crisp. Overall very good and decently priced for the amount of food.

Just tried this place on a recommendation by a family friend. I order house Combo fried rice that has shrimp, pork, and chicken. Sweet n sour chicken, and crab Rangoon . The best chineese food I ever had in Indy, even though it is in zionsville. The crab rangoons were absolutely huge! The sweet n sour chicken had big pieces of white meat chicken and the red sauce was very flavorful. Please try ! You will like!

This place is one of those places that you’re really not sure about and you have to walk in and see it for yourself. I went here with my family and it was pretty clean. The décor was simple but fitted the Chinese theme. The staff were very nice expecially when my daughter wanted to make sure if there was MSG in the food she was getting. They told her that there is a little in the breading that they don’t make. The food is in very large portions. The reason I gave it one star is because of the food. The food was so sweet I wanted to scream. Also the flavoring is off. What is wrong with Zionsville’s food? Every time I go out the food is mediocre.

I love this place and always have. They use fresh veggies. Lean meat and tasty sauces. Their crab Rangoon is awesome. They also have some super good Thai food and noodle dishes which is hard to find in Zionsville. They don’t mind substituting ingredients to match your tastes. Family owned and friendly service top off a top notch eat-in or carry out experience. Very clean and bright. Large eat in area which is great for couples or even large groups. Lots of bright well lit easy in easy out parking. This is by far hands down the best Chinese in zionsville and the Michigan road corridor. What is keeping you home right now. Order take out or come eat here today.

Meh… I live very cose to The Rice Cooker and have pretty much been through the menu. I like the red curry soup with chicken(sorry I forgot the correct name). everything else is sub par at best and I REALLY want this place to be better.

Has big takeout business but there is a dining room as well. Visiting from out of town, we got take out since I had no dinner when connecting flights. I ordered Shrimp fried rice, we also had an order of string beans, egg rolls and chicken Teriyaki. They are prompt when ordering take out. Food was tasty and not greasy.

My first clue was that the many of customers entering were greeted by their name. I’d always patronized the nearby recently closed buffet. I tried this joint after a neighbor gave it the thumbs up. The food was very good. Service very good. The portions huge. I asked for a to go box for my chicken teriyaki and fried rice and he brought out a FULL to go box from the back with fresh fried rice, not the fried rice left over from my meal. My incredibly picky wife gave her to go order a 5 also. Which does not happen. The unknown dinner digs it!

Ordered hot and sour soup, thai beef, and phở. None of the dishes I would order again. I ordered a thai beef extra spicy, which was equivalent of 4⁄10 spice level. Yes, I am a white female, but please, when I order extra spicy make it happen. I am a hot and sour soup snob. I go to Chinese restaurants just to order that soup. This was one of the worst I’ve had. Slightly sweet and lacking mushrooms. I added a star because they had a large bowl of Chinese noodles for the soup. My boyfriend had the phở. He is in no way a foodie, but after eating phở in authentic Vietnamese restaurants, this was terrible. Would I return? No. Two stars because the wait staff were incredibly nice.

I’m giving rice cooker five stars. It’s the best quick Chinese food in the area. It’s in a strip mall so the dining room is small. I’ve never had to wait for a seat. The people are so friendly there and they remember returning customers. Very attentive. The menu is large and there are a lit of vegetarian choices. I had the jade green chicken with fried rice. It was cooked well and was piping hot. We’ve also ordered takeout from here and it’s always been good.

I personally did not like the food at all. We ordered General Tso’s and sweet and sour chicken and both were probably some of the worst Chinese we’ve had in awhile. The General Tso’s was very chewy(perhaps overcooked?) and the crab rangoon was also not the best. The sweet and sour sauce was very bland as well. I want to like it due to the location and great reviews, so I might be willing to try something else one more time but for now I recommend taking your money elsewhere.
