L’Éclair de Génie

Les éclairs sont des bijoux, petits pour le prix, du reste: cela est mesquin. Leurs parfums sont originaux, inventifs, toutefois — comme déjà signalé — la pâte à choux est molle et gagnerait à être revue. idem de la crème pâtissière, souvent fade: rien de transcendant.
Quant à l’éclair des Rois (crème d’amande vanille), il peine même à s’aligner avec une bonne galette frangipane traditionnelle, en termes de qualité.
Taille réduite, prix maxi, pâte à choux médiocre, fadeur trop souvent: Beaucoup de bruit pour (presque) rien.

A bit overpriced, but they are large eclairs. Was disappointed with the ice cream éclair.

J’avais très envie d’essayer ces éclairs si jolis et créatifs. Si vous êtes amateurs de ‘vrais’ éclairs français vous serez déçus. La crème pâtissière est trop liquide et la pâte à choux né fond pas. Cela reste bon mais rien à voir avec les vrais éclairs

I am a big fan of this Éclair shop that I went twice during my time if Paris for about two days! My first one was at this shop which is technically inside Lafayette Gourmet. It’s the building right beside Galeries Lafayette.
You’ll find it at the first floor of the building right across from Sadaharu Aoki. I got No. 3 Vanilla Pecan. It has vanilla cream inside, vanilla icing, and pecans on top. It was definitely bomb dot com! It is not that sweet which I like. I like my pastries not overly processed sweet, like sugar sweet. Well, it’s gourmet pastry but still! My taste-​buds definitely enjoyed it. The vanilla cream inside is very smooth but a bit viscous so it hold it together when you bite on it. The pecans were caramelized and still crunchy which blends well with the cream inside. The dough is very soft and the vanilla icing is not overwhelming that it’s doesn’t ruin the whole pastry (like other eclairs). If I can just bring back home these eclairs, oh boy! When I go back to Paris I’d definitely visit back this shop in any of their locations.
