Nectarine

A charming little place to eat inside the place des vosges with a reasonably priced menu of salads, tarts, sandwiches and many other entrees. They also have a good selection of desserts and ice cream sundaes and milkshakes.
I ordered one of my standard and favorite French café staples, the croque madame. The flavor was good and it was accompanied by a nice salad (or fries if you wish). My complaint is that the ham was chopped into little squares and hard to pick up since the pieces fell out of the sandwich non stop. Normally a nicer croque monsieur/​madame sandwich would use slices of ham. I ordered a shot of espresso (un café) but the flavor was only so so.
This place is nearby a lot of chic galleries and all the stylish Parisians seems to be strolling around the rounded arcades of this lovely residential — park near the Marais. I will try a tarte salée next time which will determine whether or not I keep my four star review.
