This is an excellent Indian in Blackrock, just a stones throw from the Dart. Décor is simple, but welcoming and the staff were very friendly. Food was excellent and there was a large choice on the menu. Very reasonable prices.

I got a take away from her and the food was excellent. Picked it up, there is a restaurant part as well which was completely empty but the orders were flowing in for take away. Mid week so perhaps it’s busier at the weekends. Happily go here again.

entering the place gave me a nice surprise of Indian styled decorum; nice paintings on the wall, and well chosen light fixtures. The food itself was well done, and tasted excellent. Happy all round! Well worth a visit in my eyes.

Ordered again from Akash, having been so impressed the first time. The food was genuinely terrible the 2nd time around. I was completely baffled, how does one make chicken korma taste like cream of chicken soup? Usually I would give a restaurant another try, in case they fell afoul of some kitchen disaster, but this was so bad that I’m not sure that I could take the risk — such a disappointment…

My Husband and I live in Blackrock. Luckily we stumbled upon this gem! We have only ordered take-away. The first time we stopped in to order. The gentleman taking our order was very friendly with great customer service. Myself being American, I have a hard time finding genuinely great customer service. The food was fantastic. I was so impressed for take-away. My husband was pretty skeptical of Indian food but he became an instant fan of Akash. The second time, we called our order in and it was still everything we wanted and similar quality. I ordered the Chicken Vindaloo both times! Irish, beware if you are even sensitive to the slightest amount of spice. The spice and flavor is incredible! We are going back to eat in and take advantage of the dine in specials!

This is a good Indian restaurant in Blackrock. They are absolutely fantastic for their takeaways so i really recommend one of them and with a menu that encourages a new thing every time you will find that Akash keeps you interested and thus it keeps you coming back each time. Its a real nice place and the staff are great… and what really helps is that the food is absolutely fantastic! Give it a go!

Totally agree with David. I live in Rathmines which is right in the midst of take-away land. We are surrounded by Thai, Italian, Chinese and Japanese takeaways, pizza joints, chippers and falafel houses. There’s a fair selection of Indians in the vicinity too, but I would plump for Akash in Blackrock over all the other Indians around here — I would even say it’s worth the drive out to Blackrock(they don’t deliver as far as Rathmines, sob sob). The lamb saag is AMAZING, best in Dublin — they cook it to order too, so try it hot and spicy. Another favourite is the Bhoona, a creamy and fragrant but spicy sauce with mushrooms, onions and peppers. Delish.

I absolutely love this place. The food here is incredible and the prices are average for indian food. You do have the option of eating in, but I mostly use Akash for ordering take away. The eating in option does bump the cost way up, but it is a lovely restaurant. They do however offer a cheap lunchtime menu. It feels like a lovely home run service, with friendly staff. They deliver pretty fast. They do not throw in free pompadons with orders or much in the way of complimentary dishes like some other Indians, but the quality of the food more than makes up for that. Plus the portions are large so you usually have some left over for lunch the next day. My personal favourite is the lamb biryani.
